btw... the art guy is said to be sketching our game characters? are we supposed to bring him a screenshot if we want to try to get in for that i guess? i cant imagine any other way... unless states has some atomic powered player database in his pocket... -
Quantum Flight: is it possible to just have the phase aspect cancel after 30 seconds, leaving us with our flight?
Restore Essence: if you try to use it in any combat situation you get re-killed before you're able to move, even the slightest invincibility timer (like for rise of the phoenix) would work.
Photon Seekers: yeah... they dont get much dumber than that. -
No one's yet mentioned anything about the ice tanker's 'top' ability being essentially rest? I think that's pretty cool for a blaster APP power, but a tank? Naturally I'd like to see that go for something a little more useful (or at least stylish), but ignoring that for the moment, I think there are other more important concerns no one seems to be bringing up.
Low level ice tankering is quite painful. I needed sometimes multiple bubblers to take on spawns for a team of 8, before having energy absorption.
I noticed a few here mentioning removing permafrost. Now, even though permafrost should be "ideally useless" since if you're defending thoroughly enough you shouldn't need all that extra resistance, it's still exactly the kind of cheesy thing that just needs to exist in the ice set, just like any other elemental set (fire - temp prot).
Icicles however, dont really have any reason to exist. Ice already has a suitable and handy pbaoe-ness through chilling embrace. So I'd call that fair game for replacement (even though I tend to be a sucker for the pbaoe minor damage toggles)
Energy absorption granting endurance, that's really good. I like that. The ability to defend through offense, more endurance for more attacks, kill them before they kill you and all that. Especially since my ice tanker is stone melee, I really know how to appreciate endurance ;p.
But the lower level icing, and still through the higher levels, sometimes defense just doesn't cut it. Defense is a really hard thing to balance, it's either not good enough, or so good it needs to be fixed, there really is no middle ground when dealing strictly with avoidance-defense. Some thought's I've had was stuff like giving a +regen somewhere (like earth's rooted), or a decent self-heal (like regen's-reconstruction, or peacebringer's-reform essence) I dont exactly enjoy the thought of mis-using hoarfrost as a self-heal, instead of the hp-boost it's meant to be.
And I saw something about energy absorption being good for a group, but once it's just the single AV (or lots of considerably lethal bosses will fit this) left alive, energy absorption has nothing left to play with, and it's not long until you get cranked. so um about that.. just uh.. "yes".
ok, here's to hoping this gets well noticed, and not swamped out...

I remember making an illusion/kinetic in the pre-order headstart after never seeing a single kinetic and only a few below level 5 illusionists during my entire beta experience...
I remember every time I try to make a hiddeous hero, I get countless compliments on the "cool costume" (these days only a rare few newbies ever bother to even look at (forget compliment on) your costume) -

Sorta makes sense as the instanced zone is so far only really designed in missions to have a max of 8 people. Yet I also remember reading someone say that two teams of 8 people can head off against each other...
So is the total capacity for a battle zone... 8... or 16?
If so... does that mean up to 4 teams with 4 people each? For a total of 16 people? Or some combination there of as long as total people is under 16? Or is it 8?
I imagine these are issues still being hammered out in the details, but I found this a bit confusing.
If we had a complete free for all of 16 people... Wow... That would pretty wild. And then have multi-teams against each other. Wow. Even if it was a large number of Duos... It would really put a spin on free for all, and/or group (paired) dynamics.

I still hope there is an eventual clarification on how many total people can be in an instanced arena combat at one time. Total of 8, or total of 16?

Keep your pants on, no one's ever said anything about total arena capacity. Only a few examples of things that would work here and there, like this "4 teams of 2". Just because that's the example that popped to his mind first, doesn't mean that's the limit, or that it has anything to do with the limit except that it's within the currently planned limit, which anyone reasonable would understand isn't set in stone.
My personal guess is that we'll see a heap of seemingly random limits for each different map and battle mode and whatnot, just like in many other games; limited based on appropriate spawn point capacity and the sort. -
