  1. Ninjas, like Zombies work best in close combat. Traps is also a close combat set. You can either go tankermind or let your pets take the alpha while you set up at the mob's feet. Having a control system that allows you to easily place the ninjas on top of the mob is mandatory.

    Basically it goes like this: either send in pets as a tight group or run in yourself to right up to the mob. Setup all your traps while pets take alpha or you take alpha with provoke.

    I find the tankermind approach is very difficult with traps. Setting up mortar and triage is pretty damn hard when you are being pounded, held, drained etc.

    Some go the prepared route, setting up then pulling mobs into the killzone, this works as well, just is a lot slower but more risk free. Hasten is a must I think, having your tricks up quickly makes for faster killing mob to mob.

    Having some form of stealth helps, both with the def and being able to setup closer.

    Once you get the Oni, things change a lot, he provides some great group lockdown into your killzone.

  2. I noticed that the actual proc doesn't show up in the buff list but if I monitor my own speed bonus stat I see it jumps to 100% every now and then. Very nice. I will most definately be slotting the FF proc IO in the other fast attack and in footstomp.
  3. I have this slotted in one of my SS single target attacks and have yet to see it appear on my bufflist.

    Does it actually appear or have I just been incredibly unlucky to not have it proc in days of punching things with Punch?

    Is it worth slotting it into the other single target attacks? Should I wait for Foot Stomp to slot another?
  4. I am returning to MMs after almost a year absence so not sure what has changed in the mean time.
    If the +recharge proc is slotted on a pet that does KB damage, does it still work to recharge the pet's powers quicker? I have it slotted on the grave knights on my necro MM and wondering if I should take it out and use it on my brute instead.

    While we are on the subject, does the achillies heel -res proc and other similar ones work slotted on pets as well?

    Demon/Dark build

    I would also suggest dropping lash and taking DN and tar patch earlier, easier for levelling. Also look at taking air superiority rather than hover, it is an amazing power for a level of control, you can chain bosses on their backs. Since you will be in the middle of the action with ds/dark it is a good investment.

    I fully agree with stamina, a must since you will be running a toggle and spamming TG all the time.
  6. For some reason the store is down and when that happens any slots over the base do not show. I am SOOO pissed, have had a concept character bouncing around in my head for over a day and have not been able to make it!

    Not quite the way I like to play ;-). However, I went with the into melee approach much like I play my zombies and it works pretty well, thanks! I enjoy the tactical approach, using debuff and CC, so dark works well.
  8. Ergh also noticing that my thugs MMs are also affected, one of the enforcers now always runs up and shoots at close range, losing the lovely cone from distance that it usually has.
  9. Ahhh, so you chaps are advocating I play my demon/dark like I play my necro/dark, in close and personal. I have been experimenting with the demon attacks and they still seem to fire off their ranged when in melee range as well, which I have never seen before on MM minions, is this also a behaviour change in the patch?
  10. Playing a demon /dark and I am getting more than a little frustrated with the demon AI always wanting the demons to go into melee after they fire off one round of shots. Usually it is 1 or 2 of a grouping.

    Is there any way of stopping this or do I just have to micro manage and bring the offending idiot back to me every time?

  14. My suggestion is to ALWAYS tell your pets which target to attack, never leave it up to them to decide. This is especially true for soloing. When soloing/duoing/small team, it is invaluable to direct pet groups to attack different targets at the start of an engagement as this then places all the aggro on the pets, one shot is enough. Then you focus fire on the targets in order of your priorities, depending on the situation. If you have the bigger creature debuffed then clean up the smaller or you can debuff a smaller one and take out the bigger.

    Of course this is NOT a good idea for the tankermind.

    Even if you are playing a tankermind (I never have) I would still suggest telling your pets all the time what to attack. But thats just me.

    Envenom and weaken do not stack, they do not even stack with the same powers from other people. The slow component will stack with the slow from another power, but not itself.

    However, it is still good to have good recharge as you can then lay the debuffs across multiple targets in quick order.

I have found that as pets go the thugs are the best for DPS as every pet is geared to dishing out the hurt, this is even more true since you can slot the tier 2 pet to proc drop resists on target, perfect for PVP. Slotting them with the new pet recharge sets is great too, since you can whip them out for PVP damage very very quickly and cheaply.

    I also find that the big debuff sets as secondary are great for pvp, dark, poison and storm come to mind. Add amazing damage at range to full to hit and defence/rsists debuff makes for a great PVP.

    Interestingly enough, in this game at least, using the good PVP builds makes for excellent PVE as well.

    I would go with thugs/dark or thugs/storm as the most versatile both ways. Having played both I can say with confidence that thugs/storm is my favourite.

    Depends what you are using to light it. I use a thugs/TA MM and I have no problems lighting the oil slick every time, I dont even try ;-). Seriously though, you can light the slick with either magic or tech starter ranged power if you have no other method of doing so.

    Be aware that the oil slick WILL NOT LIGHT in Architect missions since it is flagged as a friendly.

    I am sure you have figured out that zombie/dark plays very differently to bots/ff. You have to get all your pets (cept maybe the Lich) right on top of the AV and keep them there as the most damage is done at melee range. This also means you have to be there too so that you can heal and cut the AV's regen. This makes zombie/dark very painful against most AVs, one AE that actually hits and most of your pets (and you) take a big painful whack.

    I find it one of the harder MMs to use against AVs solo.
  19. Ok, so I got them to remove their port forwarding rules so that I can actually get into the game and play, even if I get disconnected every 10 minutes.

    They want all the details I can give them about the game so that they can research how to help me out.

    All I know is that CoX uses TCP: 2104, 2106 and 6994, UDP: 7000 - 7100. Thats all I can find on the net about it.

    Are these ports outgoing? incoming? What are the IP addresses attached to these ports?

    Other than the slow net info tool from the US forums, how would I test out these ports? Would I use telnet? WHat IP address would I use with telnet?

    Anyone?
  20. Recently I moved to using a WiFi internet connection method as it was the only method available for 24/7 internet. The problem is that the provider uses 2 lines to supply the internet and they load balance by switching between the two lines.

    This means that I get disconnected every 10 minutes or so from the game.

    I have given them the port list for CoX to forward them onto the one line permanently so that no more switching happens for CoX. When they forward these ports to do this it locks the ports for some reason and I cant play CoX at all! They say they use the same method for a range of ports for Skype and that works!

    I am desperately seeking some help with this. Does anyone know what to do?

  24. From what I understand you will have to go to a trainer to change builds. I too am hoping for a dual build on VEATS, being able to change between the two even at a trainer would be great, basically 2 different characters to play!
  25. I am irritated beyond belief that the game that I consider to be better than any out there because of its QOL features does not have a feature where you can pass inf to alts, which all those others have.

    I have tons of alts and would very much like an easier way to get them inf other than begging people to help me.
