Force Feedback Proc?
There isn't really a simple answer to this since it actually depends on how much recharge you already have.
Stealing DrMike's explanation:
The best way to think about it is that Hasten (and all powers) recover 1 point per second. Hasten needs 450 points to recharge.
Recharge buffs change the number of points you accumulate every second, so with hasten active, you get 1.7 points back per second for each power that's recharging. So, click Hasten. For the next 120 seconds you accumulate 120*1.7 = 204 points You still need another 246 points for Hasten to recharge, and will have to wait 246 seconds for them to accumulate at 1 point per second. So the total recharge time will be 120 + 246 = 336 seconds. |
Eclipse needs 300 "points" to recharge. Let X be equal to the amount of recharge you are getting from slotting in eclipse plus global recharge from other sources.
When the FF proc is up you'll get 2 + X points back per second and when it's down you'll get 1 + X. So over the course of 15 seconds you'll get 20 + 15X points or (4/3) + X points per second.
Without the FF proc you'll get 1 + X points per second.
So the percentage improvement from the FF proc is (4 + 3X)/(3 + 3X)
What does this mean? If you have no slotting or global recharge then the FF proc is, at best, equivalent to a 33% global recharge buff. If you have 95% enhancement in Eclipse and no global recharge then it's equivalent to a 17% global recharge bonus at best.
Thought I read in a forum post that they removed the proc supression at some point (making the paragonwiki entry out of date).
Culex's resistance guide
Alright, given what Adeon said, it seems like I can expect to get about 20-25% recharge from this. I have Eclipse ED capped on recharge, as well as hasten, but no other sources of global recharge (yet). So I'll get less than 33% but more than the "at best" 17%. I'll go low and assume 20%, to get an idea of what else I'd need. Not taking Hasten into account, that looks like about 140s recharge, which is still 50s downtime... With Hasten up, it'll look more like about 20s, which is about 10s less than what I'm looking at now, unless my numbers are horribly off, which they probably are.
Of course, how often I use it while actually playing is going to affect how much it helps me, too. If I'm not spamming it, it's not going to be as helpful, obviously, so that's another reason why I'm assuming low percentages of average +rech.
A question about it's suppression, though, in regards to AoEs. Does it stack with itself before the suppression kicks in? Like if I hit 10 enemies, and it has a percentage chance to activate on each one of them, and it procs twice, do I get 200% recharge that's then suppressed for X amount of time, or is it only ever 100% then suppressed?
I have this slotted in one of my SS single target attacks and have yet to see it appear on my bufflist.
Does it actually appear or have I just been incredibly unlucky to not have it proc in days of punching things with Punch?
Is it worth slotting it into the other single target attacks? Should I wait for Foot Stomp to slot another?
@Boerewors
My level 50 Grav/Emp has it slotted in Psionic Tornado. I've got recharge coming out of my ears, so I'm often spamming Psi Tornado and Crushing Field as my attack chain pretty much. I often play +0/x8 maps, and see it go off very quite regularly in my combat attributes window.
I havent done any serious analysis on how often its up, but I'd guess around 20% of the time when I'm in full combat. I have noticed the auras coming up more quickly when I fight non-stop, but then again, I have hasten to factor in too, since that isn't perma.
Yeah, I'd only slot it in AoEs.
Footstomp is a good idea.
I noticed that the actual proc doesn't show up in the buff list but if I monitor my own speed bonus stat I see it jumps to 100% every now and then. Very nice. I will most definately be slotting the FF proc IO in the other fast attack and in footstomp.
@Boerewors
If you are monitoring the stat you can see the increase in recovery.
I have it slotted in Bullet Rain and I don't have hasten, just one LoTG and a few set bonuses. So I see it jump from 7.5 to as high as 67. But it is of short duration so getting it to stack can be difficult, unless the power you slot in recharges quickly already.
Just curious about how this works. I know it suppresses itself, to keep it from stacking up insane levels of recharge, and as such is best placed in an AoE to keep it firing. What I want to know is about how much global recharge I can expect to get from this on average. For reference, I plan on putting it in Gravitic Emanation on my WS to help with getting perma Eclipse without breaking the bank. I'll probably drop it once I have the funds for more reliable sources, but for now, about how much can I expect it to help me out? I don't want to invest in it and find out it's a total waste of money, especially if it takes a while for me to try and sell it back.
