  1. Interesting and lively discussion.

Here is what I advocate for: Account wide storage. I will even pay (*some) paragon points for the Privilege. I think a minimum acceptable amount for "1st tier" would be 50 enhancers, 200 Salvage, 2 Billion Inf

"2nd Tier" of paragon bought account wide salvage:+ 30 special salvage this would solve the Catalysts and new I/O switching Salvage.

"3rd Tier" +30 Incarnate Salvage storage. I have deleted many 50s with VR, rares, etc. Would have been nice to strip it all. I really love to use the whole buffalo.

The money they invest in a Dev coding it will quickly be made back.

Someone pointed out it takes 5 minutes to load 20 e-mails. I moved over 400 during this "spring cleaning"
  2. I finally (3 days and hours of what could have been TF time later) got all my I/Os transferred to one centralized location that all my current alts are using.

Seriously, why can they not do ANYthing to make it slightly easier. (even removing the 15 second rule if e-mailing to yourself would be really helpful...)
  3. Oooh. Thank you for that Stargeek!!!

Ever hear that song "there's a hole in the bucket?" Good stuff. And the solution you have proposed (a very good solution!) is the very cause of my problem/complaint/observation I posted about lol. I was trying to transfer all my stuff from a group of Redside Freedom storage bases to a single Blueside Virtue storage base. Redefines tedious.

  6. I actually love your idea Forbin. I'm willing to pay a few hundred points for it. I would (grudgingly) pay up to 800 points points for a decent set up. But it cannot be like the dumb e-mail system with the 15 sec waits.
  7. Yeah, sharing storage across accounts sounds 1) like a pipe dream since we cannot seem to get them to do it for one account. 2) horrifically open to abuse and a plethora of bad scenarios.

on the sig...heh, it's a bit of game history I love, since I alt so much and PUG like crazy it speaks to me.
  8. A good point was made about the Devs considering each character "separate." What the Devs might have overlooked is why people like me stay with the game. I alt like mad. I make one 50 after another, probably averaging one every 2 weeks. I delete plenty of characters in the teens, 20, 30, 40, and 50s. This weekend I deleted two 50+3s w/ tier 4s. I strip every one, take what treasure they got, pick the bones, delete. If the name is something I like I save it for later.

Many of us are altaholics. I have been to the step meeting in Atlas park, aka DFB runs. By making it more difficult for a large portion of their player base to pursue this valid way of playing does not serve a good business model.
  9. Truth. I figure (hope) this issue will only affect me a couple times ever in playing. This is equivalent to moving a house.

The reason I posted was it was such a weird thing to find out. Also, someone needs to keep bringing these quality of life issues up to or you get to a point in the future and the devs are like "No one ever said there was a problem with it..."

There is a huge problem with the storage system.
  10. I find out the weirdest things about this game, I should get badges for it lol. a little back-story, so no one thinks I am a mad spammer. I played on Freedom for years. I started making characters on Virtue about 6 months ago and it is now my home. I finally decided this weekend to move all the I/Os from my "storage bases" on Freedom to my main Virtue base. This is about as tedious a process as CoH could possibly devise. I was grinding through it when I got the same kind of message you get when "your mailbox cannot hold more than 20 messages", only this one was "you cannot send more than 150 messages in a 24 hour period"

I guess they put this in as a way to stop spammers. Not sure how effective that ever was. But it made a very inconvenient and very time consuming process for me into an extremely inconvenient and extremely time consuming process.

Is there any hope CoH/CoV will ever solve the personal storage issues in this now mature video game world?

Here is what I built (2nd try) in MIDs. I have this stuff already (I'll have to strip 2 characters, so I want to be pretty sure.) Any help is much appreciated.

PS. I have a couple slots left over, and there are obviously a couple powers I am having problems slotting. i have never run Regen before.

Do not pay any attention to any adjective used to describe anything in the game. I am self-editing here to not be snarky. But the truth is there is no truth in any adjective used in archetype or power descriptions. To quote Capt. Jack Sparrow "They're more like guidelines."

For accurate information on various achteypes and powers go to Red Tomax's pages (good for 90% of powers, some of the newest stuff are not there), open up the latest MIDs design builder (now updated for the new issue), or open up the power and click details while in game. If any of this seems contradictory or confusing (happens to me sometimes) post a question here on the boards.
  17. I'm reviving an old stalled Energy Melee Brute, but even on SOs he is built wrong. Can anyone give me a heads up on what powers to avoid, what attack chains I should be aiming for, and what is a "sweet" global recharge bonus to shoot for to get this powerset running at top efficiency. Thanks.
  18. All the evidence (hearsay and postings that is) is that it procs 100% time against every mob it hits. I will never understand the Devs, I am always lost.
  19. I am looking for input on the most relaxing character to take from first level to the incarnate trials. I just spent the last four months experimenting with builds and really just want a fun cruise through the cities. Any thoughts are appreciated cause I know you folks got the experience and opinions.
  20. Thank you. I have a SO Invulnerability build I am using as an experiment. I will test this. PS, that is 3 minutes per Unstoppable. If I can manage 5 1/2 solid minutes out of it this power might be worth it.
  21. Can you stack unstoppable (for instance using burnout) and if so, what happens?
  22. I have a 50 Elec Blast and encounter the same problems. My solution there is to just include the AoE as part of the ST chain, plus I use Hasten, global recharge bonuses, and the Epic for more attacks. But I was building for Ranged AoE, and the ST is really just for filling. I find it not incredibly hard hitting.
  23. Okay, I am having a real problem figuring out if I can (or should) Softcap the ranged defense on this guy. The build is great for Range, but in that strange City way, sets that increase Range Def are rarely on Ranged I/Os. Heres my build, with the Dam I/Os slipped in the M30 grenade standing in for the Blaster ATO. (Yes, I know the new MIDs are in) Also, the ATOs are probably going into Full Auto, I hear they Proc on every target in that, I still find it unbelievable, but I love it.

He works well like this. (actually he is at 48 3/4, and not quite fully slotted yet, although mostly he is. The ranged defense he has is working really really well. Any ideas on how to increase Ranged Defense, Range bonuses, and Global Recharge are very much appreciated.

  24. I run Brutes (used to be almost only brutes) Scrapper (my new main) Dominators (many 50'd experiments) and Blasters (don't even ask, but I keep trying). There is only one good alignment for Brutes and Doms. Villain. For Scrapper and Blasters I prefer Hero. The two grey alignments? Yeah, no. I go on them so I can team with friends and get more content. period.

They need to do a little "powerset proliferation" and let you pick whatever Alignment power you want. If the game is truly balanced it won't matter. If the game is not truly balanced someone is getting messed over (I suspect Blueside Brutes...)

    Just sayin'.
