Weapon Customisation. Awesome! Hope there is a Dagger selection for those Dual Blades.

Thank you devs. Can't wait to try the Oroboros System.

Sounds like issue 11 is going to be popular.

That is all.
2. <QR>

I had thought Dual Blades would be more a Dagger set than another Sword set. And why sabers? Are we trying to reinforce the pirate theme going on in the Rogue Isles or something?

As for Will Power. Um.. as many have said we were hoping for a more subtle, possibly even invisible power effects for our Natural origin melee heroes. What is with the canary yellow Sonic auras here guys? Is it really necessary to have a visual effect for every single defensive set in the game? Come on.

That is all.

Why?

[/ QUOTE ]
He wants you to get a magic-origin contact in the 6-9 level range. Once you have a magic-origin contact in the 6-9 level range, you can do whatever you want--Hollows, powerlevel, grind boars in the forest, it doesn't matter. (Though Natural and Mutation contacts wouldn't hurt; I think it may be possible for someone to pass you off to an origin different than their own.)

The guide was written with the assumption that a player incapable of getting the Spelunker mission in the right level range needs to be led around carefully, else they see some shiney and go spinning off, never to get the badge. If you pay attention, there's no reason not to go to the Hollows.

[ QUOTE ]
If you have already begun missions in the Hollows, but are not yet 10th level, is it too late to get the Fortune Teller mission?

[/ QUOTE ]
No. It's not too late to get the Fortune Teller mission until you ding 16 (if you have the correct contact already) or 15 (if you still need the correct contact), regardless of any action that you might take until that point.

[/ QUOTE ]

There is no guarantee that a Magic origin contact will always introduce you to another magic origin contact. The chances are higher, but you can still be vexed.

And actually around 13th or 14th level, even having the correct contact cannot assure that you get the Fortune Teller mission. The contacts tend to skip directly to their story arc in that case which does not include the mission to Save Cassandra (or whatever).

That is all.
4. [ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
As for Step Three: Speaking to David Wincott before going to your first 2nd tier contact insures that the contact will not immediately send you there to talk to him anyway. Staying out of the Hollows is key at this level when trying to achieve the Spelunker badge.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why?

If you have already begun missions in the Hollows, but are not yet 10th level, is it too late to get the Fortune Teller mission?

Seems a shame that the assembled wisdom of the playerbase are recommending new characters skip an entire zone.

[/ QUOTE ]

Because if you start missions in the Hollows you can't build up your list of 2nd tier contacts to a total of 5 in Kings Row, Atlas or Galaxy. So at 10th level when you leave the Hollows you find your lonely one 2nd tier contact will most likely not introduce you to the contact you need for the Fortune Teller mission.

My way Guarantees you have all five contacts in the 2nd tier and Guarantees that you will get the contact needed.

Note: I'm not saying you can't go to the Hollows at all. You can. You just need to build up your 2nd tier contacts in the regular zones before you get swept up in it.

That's all.
5. One correction, you only need to be level 5 to enter the Hollows. Otherwise, very nice guide for new players. Answers a lot of questions commonly asked in broadcast.

Good work.
6. [ QUOTE ]
Yep. Just level to 10, then go talk to all your contacts until one of them introduces you to Hugo Redding, Dr. Trevor Seabourne or Haley Phillips.

Even if you had been ignoring your level 1-10 contacts all this while, they'd still be discomfitingly happy to see you and would gladly introduce new people to you. There's no need to accept missions from any of the supporting cast.

[/ QUOTE ]

Except that if you ignore the 2nd tier contacts they will never introduce you to the next one in line. So you end up with only one 2nd tier contact who only introduces you to one new contact. Your chances of getting the fortune teller contact with that method are very slim.

See how it works is, your primary contact introduces you to one 2nd tier contact. After doing a mission for this contact he introduces you to another 2nd tier contact. After doing a mission for that contact he introduces you to another 2nd tier contact, etc., until you have five 2nd tier contacts.

If you totally ignore them you will never get all five, and therefor lower your chances of getting the Fortune Teller contact.

As for Step Three: Speaking to David Wincott before going to your first 2nd tier contact insures that the contact will not immediately send you there to talk to him anyway. Staying out of the Hollows is key at this level when trying to achieve the Spelunker badge.

Try Eldandil's method, then try mine. Tell me which one works better.

That is all.
7. Just popping in to see how my guide is doing.

Anyone finding this info useful?
Please let me know.

Thanks.
8. Very good guide.

A couple of points on Teleport however.

The best AT to choose Teleport with is a Regen Scrapper. Their Fast Recovery combined with a simple 2 slotted Stamina can make Teleport fuction easily with no endurance woes at all. That leaves you free to slot your Teleport for maximum range or with an IO set.

With practice a player can learn to use Teleport effectively in combat (I use it constantly, porting from one foe to another much in the way you would expect Nightcrawler<TM> of the X-Men<R> would). It merely takes patience to get used to it and timing to use it to maximum effect. You can even get used to the Red Reticle of Doom in missions by learning which of these areas will still allow a port to occur.

That is all.
9. One question. I am building my first base and have noticed that though I can place beacons, there seems to be no selection to place the actual Teleport Pads. Are there requirements you must meet before these become available to be placed, and if so what are they?

Edit: I read a little further into the guide and I see what I am missing now. Thanks a lot.

Thanks for the guide. It's helping a lot.
10. This guide is to give players a guaranteed method for acquiring the Fortune Teller mission in the early levels, so that they can get their Atlas Medallion at their earliest possible convenience without having to track down someone else who has the mission.

Step One: Create your character. You can decided to go through the Tutorial if you wish but it is not absolutely necessary. Once you arrive in Atlas Park or Galaxy City, accept the first mission from your new contact, then go level up to 5th level in any way you wish.

Step Two: Once you have reached 5th level complete the mission you accepted (if you haven't already) and your contact will introduce you to a new contact in either Atlas Park, Galaxy City or Kings Row.

Step Three: This is the most important step. Instead of going to your new contact, make your way to David Wincott in the Hollows. Talk to David Wincott but do not accept his mission. Once you have talked to him leave the Hollows and head to your new contact.

Step Four: Accept and complete at least one mission for this contact. He/she will introduce you to another new contact.

Step Five: Repeat Step Four going to the new contact and completing a mission for them to receive introduction to another new contact. Repeat this until they stop introducing you to new contacts. You should be able to get upto 5 contacts in this way.

Step Six: Once you have your five contacts (not including Wincott or your primary Origin contact), continue leveling up to 10th level in any way you choose.

Step Seven: Once you reach 10th level call each of your 2nd tier contacts and they will introduce you to new contacts in the Steel Canyon and Skyway City zones. At least one of these new contacts should be Hugo Redding, Dr. Trevor Seabourne or Haley Phillips, the Fortune Teller contacts. Often they will send you on a mission to save a party at a club called "The Portal" as their first mission. Complete that and return and they will ask you to Save Cassandra (or some other typically mystical sounding name).

There you go. X marks the spot. You have your Fortune Teller mission and soon your Spelunker badge.

Good luck all.
11. Can I suggest something here?

Can we fix the graphic holes and other problems so that Teleportation can be used in Pocket D again? In other words, Can we take off the band-aid and actually fix the problems instead?

Thank You.

That is all.

Moon Hazard Zone

I heard an NPC talking about seismic activity on the moon last night. I think they subtly bumped this thread to let us know that now is the time to put in all our suggestions for the Moon Zone.

[/ QUOTE ]

Read the Paragon Times lately?

The Moon Zone is already being developed and I'm sure many ideas from this very thread are being considered.

Now if this was actully intended as a real life interaction then that wasn't really made clear and totally changes my answer.

The poll is basically asking if you would like to go to a "City of" convention (like Comicon or Blizzcon). A real life event in the real "live" world.

Seemed pretty clear to me.
15. [ QUOTE ]
Note: Your last question says "pick two", yet I was only able to pick one. Bug?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah it even says. (two choices) followed by "user may choose only one". What's up with that, Lib?
16. I like the ideas but I think something like this should be seperate from the powers system. Maybe something like the ancilliary skills system they were planning for the universities would work with these kind of skill pools? Have it be a seperate system rewarding a new skill every other odd level (so, 3, 7, 11, etc.). So no one has to waste power slots on noncombat skills.

And QR mean Quick Reply BTW.

Oh yes, this should happen immediately! Just put it in the zones, let the players figure out what to do with it

18. I have noticed that the Skull mask selections no longer allow the neck to be set as a different color. On many of my Skull-faced toons I had the neck set as black and the Skull set as off-white, yellow-ish or bright green. The necks are now the same color as the masks and it doesnt look right at all. There is no detail selection for Skulls so there is no reason the second color should not be used to allow the neck to be a different color. Please put it back the way it was so I can fix my costumes. TY

I don't know if Jay is sexy, honestly. But I can tell you, he is the man.

Top Issues 8.10

Has anyone else noticed a weird shadow image when over the water in some missions? It's like a wavy copy of the character and especially weapons (like the Broadsword and the Battle Axe) slightly offset to the right and only visible when the water is behind them on the screen. Is this a bug or something specific to my video card?
20. I've noticed on many of the mask selections (like sightless, bonehead and the ninja masks) that when you select black as their color they aren't exactly black when compared to the rest of the costume. It looks more like a very dark gray. Fixing this prob would be greatly appreciated.

(Head – Ears): Floppy, Bunny, Cat, Rat, Teddy, Wildcat

Okay way this is posted, one can presume it's for both male & female. It isn't.
Males have rat, lion, & cat tails but as for the ears, none of the above.
WE want our ears too. Least the ones to match the tails like rat and cat.

[/ QUOTE ]

Check under the Ears selection for the Head. All the new ears are there. Checked with my Were-Tiger toon yesterday. They are all there, though they (like Cat Ears) look more like hairclip costume pieces and not like realistic animal ears.

Really, for animalistic looks, we need more monstrous heads.
(to be continued in Jay's Costume Requests thread)
22. [ QUOTE ]
The Claws Power sets for both Scrappers and Stalkers have new animations for the powers Swipe and Strike. The animation for Slash has been replaced with the old Strike animation in order to better match the cast, recharge and damage values.

[/ QUOTE ]

Personally, I like the speed of the new Strike, but I like the old animation better, the way it is now it just looks like Boxing with claws. The new Slash animation (the old Strike) is fine. Swipe's new animation (basically an Energy Tank's Barrage with claws) looks fine (even though overall it doesn't seem to do as much damage as it used to), but Strike needs a better looking animation. Maybe something new instead of a revamp of another power's animation, eh?
23. The Dragon head (Monstrous Head 6) does not align correctly with the back of male or huge toons (possibly female as well, I didn't check). The back of the neck sticks out a couple of inches in a wedge-like shape. When running this looks incredibly bad.
