  1. My suggestion for a Sith type character would be a Dual Blade/Electric Brute. Get him to 35 and start working on those merits to get the Talsorian blades and you'll have a nice looking lightsaber fighter kind of look.

    If you want to simulate more of the Telekinetic or Mind Control powers, I'd go with either a Grav/Electric or Mind/Electric Dominator.

    This game is well worth the money and we don't want to start sending signals that we're on the decline. Quite the opposite in fact.

    Note: The tram on the South end of Skyway (right next to the Faultline entrance) also goes to Talos Island and there is a WW right behind the tram station there.

    This actually depends on how the ambush is set.

    Some ambushes are set to go after you no matter where you move after the triggering. These ones will see through any amount of invisibility and no matter where or how far you run they will keep coming.

    Others are just set to go to the location where you were when they were triggered. With these you can easily move out of range or get behind something and once they have arrived you can sneak up to or past them unnoticed.

    See my post above. If you want to keep the bald and not worry about that auto hair switch, use the Full Masks head.

    That's what the Ferries and Trams are for. Seriously, the Ouroportal is not meant to be used as a zone to zone teleportation device. That is just a fringe benefit.

    Not game instead of girlfriend. Its more, game instead of THAT girlfriend. There are lots of women out there who are ok with thier guys spending a few nights a week playing mmos. Not to mention there are even some who play the mmos with thier guy. My wife for example, plays this game with me. She even got to 50 before I did.

    There are a couple of doors in St. Martial (one is a warehouse on the NorthWest side of the island, the other is a sewer entrance near the Black Market) where the door is actually lower than the ground around it.

    In these cases logging on near one of those can get you stuck partially in the ground. The /stuck command does not work in these cases, however jumping without trying to move forward or back corrects the problem.

    This was not the case for me sometime back. The charges remained, and were indeed taken from my funds. I bugged it at the time, but never heard boo about it afterward. Has this been fixed? I've been reluctant to use the Tailor (one of my favorite features) because of this.

    With older characters that use outdated and renamed options (many of the Faces and Hair selections have been renamed as well as reordered) this problem will always pop up. This is why the devs have given us Free Tailor Sessions whenever they make these kind of changes. These kind of problems are what they are supposed to be used for. That way you don't get charged for correcting a costume change that they made. Since they give Free Tailor Sessions, naturally they are not going to respond to such a costume bug, because it is expected.

    I used to have this problem with my namesake (see my avatar). I found that by switching to the Full Mask category and choosing None (or Neck Cover, which is what I use) for Masks the Bald look never gets messed up.

    Actually, no. I left that off mistakenly. I edited to add it to my list. I can't think of any really serious balance issues that would come up for a Brute with Claws. Of course the devs might be able to think of things I cannot.

    As for Ice Melee for Brutes, Ice Armor and Invulnerability for Stalkers and Bladed Assault for Blasters, etc., I'm sure the devs could figure out a way to remove or alter powers that would be detrimental or overpowering to the ATs in question when it really comes down to it.

  14. The door thing is just an easy animation to do and looks kool if someone else happens to be standing around in that area. Being near any door that opens upon login will trigger that animation.

    It's really just about all around loving the set, but the shield not working with the concept.

    Like I said, for a non-shield concept choose a non-shield defensive set like Willpower or Super Reflexes.

    Sorry, but making a Shield set without a Shield is just ridiculous.
    How do you Deflect without a Shield?
    How do you Phalanx Fight without a Shield?
    How do you Shield Charge?
    How do you become One with the Nothing?

    Maybe you could suggest a similar set called "Bracers" with similar powers not related to using a Shield? Rethink the idea, because as it is it's just not going to fly.

    Aha, there you go. You're in the Hollows. Hazard zones (like the Hollows) are designed to be played with teams. If you are soloing this is not where you want to be. My suggestion would be to drop Julius's mission and head to the regular zones. Check your original contact to see if they have an intro for you or if they already did introduce you to someone, go see your second contact (should be in Atlas, Kings Row or Galaxy) and see if they have an intro ready for you.

    Short of this you can just go directly to Steel Canyon or Skyway City (take the L train or tram, marked by the T on your map in Atlas Park) and talk to a Detective (also marked on your map and in the Detective tab in your Contact window) to get a Police Radio. You can then do Radio missions until you are given a Safeguard mission (Stop a Bank Robbery).

    After the Safeguard you will be given a new contact which will be at your current level. These missions will be much more solo friendly.

  22. By level 11 you should be doing missions in either Steel Canyon or Skyway City. If the enemies in a mission are too difficult try lowering your difficulty by visiting a Hero Corps Field Analyst. Heroic is the lowest setting.

    Note: There appears to be a bug currently that sometimes raises the difficulty level of the Heroic setting. If you are already set on Heroic, try changing your difficulty to the second setting and then changing back. This usually clears up that bug.

    If the enemies are green, that just means you have outleveled the mission. Try finishing out that mission and returning to the contact to see if they can give you more missions. New missions taken at your current level should be up to par.

    Remember, as a Blaster you have very little defense. If you find yourself in over your head, don't forget to use cover and run away if you get into the red. Though an enemy blast can go through objects if they fired before you moved, they cannot see through objects and they must see you to fire at you.

    Also, teams are a good way to go during low levels with a Blaster. Having other characters like Tanks and Scrappers to take some of the heat off of you really helps for your survivability.

    Another product of Inventions, several IO sets and uniques give global recharge bonuses (such as LoTG 7.5%). With enough of these bonuses stacked up you can now achieve perma Haste once more.

    I don't PvP anymore (I was just getting into it) since the nerf to Teleport (travel suppression on Teleport is total and suppression is triggered by any action as well as being struck by anything, including PvE enemies). I am unsure as to the PvP questions for this reason. I'm sure someone else will be able to answer you though.

    You shouldn't be able to do that since the Arpil 20th, 2009 patch. Additionally, you can't edit that costume without one or the other being stripped from your costume.

    The Magic Cape having access to the CoH CE and CoV CE Capes was not affected by that fix, Snow Globe. This isn't the getting two capes at once deal. This is just the fact that you choose any Cape design you have access to for the High Collar Mantle, just like you can choose them when you use the Asymmetrical Mantle or the Over the Shoulders Mantle.
