Ulterior may not be in your taste, but it most definitely does not suck. The texture work of that set is some of the best in the game.
If you want a jungle look try this.
That's the Organic chest and legs with Plant gloves, boots and hair. I haven't changed the mask yet, but it will be Vines. That's the one part of that set I really like. The rest is just too understated for the look I want.

Last night I was running the Mayhem missions for Atlas and Kings. I ran each of them twice to make sure and the second time through I purposely ran through every Longbow spawn point on the maps. Not a single Longbow called out "Stop in the name of Longbow!"or appeared to fight.
I also noticed that approaching the Vault door no longer seems to spawn the 3 wave ambush that usually happens there. Nothing, complete and utter silence until the door was busted and the money was grabbed, at which point the Hero and his/her team spawned as normal.
My questions are...
How high does this change go?
Did anyone else run Mayhem missions last night at any level?
Did you also notice the lack of ambushes?
Is this a cross the levels change or limited to just low level Mayhems?

Have you tried opening a door? That noise is wrong, too...
[/ QUOTE ]
No, that one isn't wrong. It's just different. They changed them this issue. There are new door, splash and footstep noises.
The problem is, some of them are missing or areas are tagged incorrectly to cause the wrong sound.

Last night I ran the Atlas and Kings Mayhem missions twice each. I noticed that Longbow didn't spawn in a single one of them. I even purposely ran through every spawn point on the maps and still nothing.
I also noticed that there no longer appear to be any ambushes spawned by reaching the Vault door. It used to be there would be three ambushes triggered right as you step up to the Vault. Now there is nothing until you grab the money and spawn the Hero.
Is this intended? There is nothing about these spawns being removed in the patch notes.
-
I've noticed that there no longer seems to be a difference between the footstep sounds on tile, cement, car and truck hoods and many carpeted areas.
I know the carpeted sound exists as I've heard it in several maps but it appears to be misplaced for the interior of banks in Mayhem/Safeguard missions as well as several Office maps.
Car and Truck hoods should sound metallic.
I have also noticed that the sloshing sounds when running in water appears to be missing from Sewers and Sewer missions but is still heard (though faintly) in other maps and in the city zones.
Has anyone else noticed this? Does anyone else even turn up their sound enough to hear these differences?

A few I used, as I felt I needed to change up some powers and slotting.
I don't use respecs as a money saving tool like so many other people do however. When it comes time for me to replace some enhancements I just put the new ones right on top of the old. I'm not going to go through the hassle of using 5 respecs to pull out all of my level 40 IOs so that I can replace them with 50s. I'll just overwrite the 40s.
And yes, I know how much they are worth. I don't care. It's called an influence sink. They should have never allowed enhancements to be removed during a respec in the first place, IMO.
That was the devs being nice.
And now we whine about not getting enough warning to use our freespecs for exactly that purpose. Pah'leeze.

What if they made a series of "special ships" (like the special buildings in Steel Canyon) in the locations where she spawns. During spawning you could show her wreck this ship and show passengers swimming for the nearest beach. Thereafter you could have those boatmen standing on the beach cheering the heroes on.
This would merely be an adaption to the way she spawns and would still be doable within the current engine.
Combine this with the propel power idea and we would have a more interactive feeling Lusca.

Well, I could have gotten it, and may go back for it, I just didn't feel like doing Chalmers, and did Archmage Tarixus instead.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd do them both. I usually can manage to get every contact in that level range completed (sans Doc Buzzsaw) before I outlevel them.
[/ QUOTE ]
After the XP smoothing, they really need to lower the requirement to unlock Doc Buzzsaw. It is waaaaay too easy to outlevel her now, and I love her arc.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree. I outlevel her every time now unless I purposely turn off XP and farm for infamy. And the devs are trying to do away with the "need" for farming so...

Yeah, right. One person could patrol all of the zones for two sides (Heroes and Villains) and all 11 servers and expect to see every single player online standing in plain sight in those zones. Yeah, they would need a lot more people to police names like that, buddy.
[/ QUOTE ]
One person could patrol them, sure. I don't know why you expect or want to see every single player online standing in plain sight in those zones. We don't even vaguely expect that kind of coverage in the real world with real property that can be damaged and real lives that can be lost.
[/ QUOTE ]
How can you possibly think that is even in the realm of possibility? Did you not read carefully enough?
You're saying that a single person can be online on every single server on both sides of the game patrolling every single zone constantly 24 hours a day? Sorry, but I don't think you belong in Personnel Management. You would work that one person to death in a week.
And GMs don't play the game, pal. They don't go into missions with players and hang out with them. In order to see name violations they would need every single player character out in the open for them to see. They can't see you if you're in a mission or off in a cave entrance somewhere hidden out of sight in Nerva or Dark Astoria.

Villainside, My Soldier of Arachnos is level 33, has gotten the Raptor Pack (Atlas Mayhem), Goldbricker Pack (Marshall Brass mission), and the Zero-G Pack (King's Row Mayhem).
[/ QUOTE ]Looks like you missed the Sky Raider Flight Pack (Lt. Chalmers), though that one, at least, is available in Flashback.

They redesigned the way the Gladiator costume part looks. If you want to keep the pre-I15 Legacy version, you can never edit any costume using it again.
We REALLY need a Legacy mode for costumes... let us use Legacy parts, and the parts they work with... *sigh*
[/ QUOTE ]
The Devs have this nasty habit of "redesigning" items that have been in the game for YEARS and giving us no choice but to accept the new version of the item or never edit our costume slots again.
I know in a few cases the Devs think they are fixing some kind of clipping issue and that the old version of the item is to be considered "broken". But how can you really call a legacy version of an item "broken" if it's been in the game for years?
Ultimately I think unless a legacy version of a costume item actually crashes the game or some such that whenever a new version of item X is introduced that the Devs should also keep the old item in the game and rename it to "Legacy X" or the like.
Bottomline there's effectively no reason items should ever be outright REPLACED.
At best new items should be added, not be used to replace old items beyond our control.
[/ QUOTE ]
I concur wholeheartedly.
I now have at least 9 characters with multiple costumes I will no longer be able to make adjustments to because the "new improved Gladiator shoulders" don't work with the costumes I have designed.
Please give us back the Classic option, devs.

Players are dreaming if you think that your petitions are "saving" us from a lawsuit that will shut down the game.
NCSoft has to demonstrate that NCSoft is taking the correct action. Nothing more, nothing less. YOU are not NCSoft, your petitions are not helping anything other than making you feel "part of the team".
[/ QUOTE ]
And too many violations left unchecked will undermine that "proof" severely. Their choices are to hire more people than they can reasonably afford to actively and constantly police for names or ask us to help them out.
[/ QUOTE ]
How many is "too many"?
Who is currently looking for this "proof"?
How big of a staff do you even imagine this would take?
One person could cruise the traffic zones of the servers and catch a very high percentage of violations if that is all they were actively doing.
I'm fascinated that you imagine your policing is integral to propping up this proof.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, right. One person could patrol all of the zones for two sides (Heroes and Villains) and all 11 servers (24 hours a day) and expect to see every single player online standing in plain sight in those zones. Yeah, they would need a lot more people to police names like that, buddy.
You just keep going on like you have. You warn the player of their fault and leave them to continue playing their copyright infringing character. Someone else will come along and report them to the GMs, as we were asked to nicely by the devs.
We can't expect them to have GMs patrolling the game constantly. No other MMO does that. Not one.

I am sure this has been suggested before, but I cannot find a post where it is suggested in detail.
Here.
And still no.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, the OP off-handly mentions the subject but does not deal with drop rate or cooldown timer. I was aware of the post you linked before I wrote this one but because the proposal is more detailed and specific I thought it should be separate.
[/ QUOTE ]
Except one of the main things pointed out in that thread is that getting purples as a reward for TFs is not going to happen. So, I really don't see a point in making a thread that asks for that specifically.

Never... going... to happen.

Right now we're doing some stuff around the hollows and are around level 9 or 10. Would you recommend for immersion/fun wise sticking around there? and if not where should we go? both of our contacts sent us there- if we go back to the contacts that sent us there, will they have something else for us?
[/ QUOTE ]
Leave the Hollows, at least for a bit. Go back to the contact that sent you to Wincott and see what they have for you. After that go to Kings Row and talk to the Detective there. He will give you a Police Band Radio (this will show up in your Contact list on your Navigation). You can use the Radio to get missions.
After doing 3 Radio missions (for this level range, it goes up to 5 missions after level 20) you will be able to get a Safeguard mission from the Detective. If you complete the (Atlas Park) Safeguard mission you will get a Temp Travel Power (Raptor Pack). This will allow you to Fly around until you can get your own travel power and will make travel in the Hollows much easier.
Make sure you do this before level 10. If you have to you can stop your XP under Menu > Options > General. If you wait until after level 10 you will end up getting the Kings Row safeguard instead, which rewards the Zero-G Jump Pack, instead of the Raptor Pack.
See my Guide to a Timeless Safeguard for easy instructions on how to complete a Safeguard quickly and successfully.

Do you realize you can do that with Super Speed and any attack already?
If you turn Super Speed off during a battle and then click it on right after pounding one enemy you can use it to speed across the room to kick another with no suppression.
[/ QUOTE ]
The suppression is there, but the animation time of some attacks (like Total Focus) might take up some of the suppression time and makes it seem like there is no suppression. Suppression initiates at the beginning of the animation.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's why you toggle on Super Speed after the attack, not during it. That's what I'm saying. You have to be quick with the toggle. You can't just leave Super Speed on or it will suppress.
-
Since purples are meant to be ultra rare they will never be available in such a way.
Additional choices may be possible, but I can assure you purple IOs will not be among them. That is totally reaching.
I can see possible Costume Rewards and Temp Powers though, such as Pets, as long as they make sense with the story of the TF/SF. You can't just award a Temp Power Shivan for something that has nothing to with Shivans for example.
The thing with merits is, they are a reward that gives you a choice. You can choose to spend them on whatever you want. You just can't use them to get purples.

the most speed oriented attack to me is shield charge. if you can stand having to hold a shield. not sure if you can do martial arts with shield or not. never looked at that combo to be honest. but what could be more speed oriented than kicking one guy and immediately crossing 30 feet with a shield charge almost instantly.

It's not automated like Shield Charge and it takes practice to do it well but it is possible.

Also, the preferred bind for the CCE commands seems to be:-
eg: /bind H "emote none$$cce 0 cclightning"
[/ QUOTE ]
That's the only time you need the quote marks, when you're combining two commands into a single bind or macro. Otherwise you can do it with no quote marks.

For my classic "Flash style" speedster I chose a Martial Arts/Super Reflexes Scrapper.
I chose to pick up both Flurry and Hasten (because I simply like the way Flurry looks and it's an extra attack that doesn't use my feet) on my way to Super Speed. I also picked up Air Superiority (another hand attack and flier control) Combat Jumping and the entire Fitness set. Toss in the Vet Power Sands of Mu to complete the attack chain and voila! Classic speedster.
Works for me.
As the others stated above, Super Speed can be worked into many other concepts depending on how you want to write them so don't feel limited to certain ATs for particular concepts unless it just feels right to you.

You should be okay.
My soldiers are named for two movies I like and are really just military code names and since the character himself has nothing to do with either movie it's obviously not a TM violation.
Soldier names: Dead Meat, Washout and Doc J
Spec Ops names: Sneaky Weasel and 8 Ball
[/ QUOTE ]
I thought the code name for the operation at the end of Hot Shots was SLeepy Weasel, not Sneaky Weasel.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've seen it a number of times. It's actually from part Deux. I'm pretty sure it was Sneaky. Now I'm going to have to watch it again with the subtitles on to make sure. Either way though, Sneaky sounds better, especially for a Spec Op.

Most things in game check against Security/Threat level instead of Combat level. Combat level only seems to matter against enemies. For everything else I assume there is some reason they cannot go by Combat level, but i couldn't tell you what that reason is.
