Thank you a----both for the support. I might do some more of these when I find another gripe that demands spoofing.
-
So, I was getting frustrated with the AI of Mastermind henchmen...so I decided to make a quick riff on it!

I'd like to have some glasses with my horns. What more can I say, really? -
Quote:Touche`. However, if it ends up anything like that Batman incident*, heads will roll.I love Sister Psyche too, Black. But I wouldn't assume anything about her future. She could be mindriding somewhere. She may very well show up again.
I know I'll probably get a lot of flame for this, but I don't like the fact that Statesman and Sister Psyche are being replaced. Most of it is Sister Psyche, because I find it a bit of a jerk move that she can't be resurrected. (What was the explanation for that, anyway? I know that Statesman was "Resting in peace", but I have extremely high doubts that it's that way with SP).
Also, I always figured that the SSAs would be either A, in their own continuity so that free/Premium players don't feel so left out, or B, that they took place chronologically after Task Forces and such. If you want to add a Penny Yin TF...why not just add instead of replace?
I get it, the two capes ate the dust..but what about the Lord Recluse Strike Force? What's their new goal, huh? To defeat Back Alley Brawler? If anyone should have died, it should have been Brawler because Galaxy City was his pedestal..and now it's gone. What about the Mender Ramiel arc to unlock Alpha? Do we just talk to BABs now? What makes him an expert on Incarnates now? What about Statesman in Recluse's Victory? Is he BAB now? I wouldn't have such a big problem with this replacement of character if it wouldn't basically negate every other appearance Statesman was involved in the story.
As for Sister Psyche, it's a more personal gripe. I personally just feel for Manticore. The guy just lost his wife (whom he basically just married, mind you) and now the only representation of her in the game left will be the one that dies. (Or the one in the now-exploded Galaxy City that is only a one-time visit.).
It seems kind of petty, but I just have a problem with this. I'm not against change. You want Statesman to die? Fine...but there had better be a darn good explanation why Back Alley Brawler is suddenly telling new Incarnate heroes that the power of the Well will just turn them into another of his best friend, Stefan Richter.
Note that I am aware they haven't stated these incarnations of Statesman will be removed (AFAIK) and that Sister Psyche's TF is still accessible in Ouroboros. What I'm saying is that this seems like a first step in a sudden "purge" of the characters, and that the more there is a purge, the more story line from the nostalgic era of CoH gets shredded from inconsistency. It's not so much a /rage as it is a red flag.

Other than, I've got some things to look forward to in the next issue. I'm definitely looking forward to the new costume sets and iTrial. And I'm looking forward to trying the Penelope Yin arc, as it's a character I've always enjoyed. (Though I will note, I will find it extremely odd that I can just go to another zone and find her four years younger. (?????) ) -
So, I've finished compiling my MM build, and my pets, prophetically, have turned out very squishy, not to mention that my own defense fluctuates from time to time depending on enemy groups. I'd like to keep roughly around my current set bonuses and still be able to increase the durability of my pets. Keep in mind, I didn't make this build myself, and the ED breaches are for set bonuses.
Here is the build:

I was roleplaying with my SG....then it happened...
And when Atlas Park was brought back, I created Abraham Lincoln and partook in lvl 1-3 all-out arena brawls with the other players who currently populated the one map on Virtue.
Best. Crash. Ever. -
The monthly server transfers, in my opinion, are kind of a useless reward for monthly payments.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a lot of people view the monthly server transfers as useful and use them all the time.
However...there's probably a simple way to fix it so that people can choose to either be rewarded with Transfer tokens or the cost of said transfer tokens. (800 Paragon Points.) Or perhaps some other reward, like 800Paragon Points worth of Super Packs.
Now, I understand that the store system has limitations and that this programming could be very difficult to implement, but isn't that what Freedom (The free-to-play system) is about?
Instead of letting Server transfers pile up in our account inventories, how about giving people the option of choosing to be rewarded with the Transfer tokens, 800 extra paragon points (The cost of a transfer token), or another reward equal to that amount? Sure it may seem like giving people 800 more points is a bit of a ripoff, but we're already being given an 800-point worth service, so it's not much different, we can just spend those points on something we think is more worthwhile from the selection. Heck, sometimes we might even buy a transfer token with that "money" when we need it.

Quote:Primal Yin.The key part of that is the word was.
This is, clearly, how she moves beyond the C/D List and becomes A/B on her personal heroic journey. In a way it is kind of cool that within the game, as we progress in levels we get to see an NPC also progress and reach heights of power, rather just being presented with something like "here is Statesman, he's important".
Now, to your point, would there have been a better choice... probably, but then it wouldn't be someone we watched develop. And... which Yin? Primal or Praetorian? -
I'm not exactly satisfied that Desdemona was the one to be the Carnival Queen...or the fact that she was necessary for the Underground Trial.
It was my understanding that Des was a "C/D-List" style character that doesn't make many appearances and is sometimes a plot device. However, making her into the Carnival Queen implies that she's far more important to the lore. Not to mention, the necessity of having her alive makes her more important than the player.
In my opinion, there was someone far more deserving of this. I think Penelope Yin should have become the Carnival Queen. I mean, Yin is supposedly the most powerful psychic on the planet....amplify that with the power of the mask. Also, Desdemona embodies the "Rogue", doesn't she? Rogues look out for number one. As much as Han Solo would love to help the innocent, it's about the money and fortune first, and less about the good deeds. Penelope, on the other hand, would jump at the chance to help people.
We've seen Penelope grow a bit. We help her rescue her father in Faultline, we defeated her guardian, the Clockwork King [Plus, teaming up with the Clockwork King to fight the Hamidon Avatar would be awesome], in the Lady Grey TF. She deserves a little payoff.
Do you agree/disagree, who do you think should wear the mask of Carnival Queen? -

Recently I've seen a couple people change costume with a CCE that I haven't seen before.
It's like ninja leap, but they land with a smash to the ground instead of the normal crouch...was there a new emote added? Is it on the store/unlockable/Rwards? -
I've also noticed these scarves are missing. I have at least two characters who use them. Could this be fixed soon, please?

Alright, so I was doing my Operation: DESTINY arc for Black Scorpion. It seemed like a perfectly normal run, I was going to check out the patrons. I spot Mako....the next thing I know he cons red, shouts "It's feasting time!" and my pets have him down to half health.
I thought "That's weird..." and decided to see if it happens again....here's the results:
Quote:You have defeated Ghost Widow
You work off 9,748 debt and gain 12,185 infamy.
You have defeated Black Scorpion
You gain 50,787 infamy.
You received Respite.
You have defeated Scirocco
You gain 50,787 infamy.
You received Luck.
You have defeated Captain Mako
You gain 50,787 infamy.
And here are screenies:

Dunno what cause the Patrons (and some of the goons) to con as enemies but all I have to say is....
Dude! Where's my badge?! -
I approve, this can only help my experimental Psi/Mental I made.

Sapped- You hate Malta Sappers. They've drained you enough times that they even joke about you, saying you're Sapped. Poor Sap.
To gain: Kill 1000 Malta Sappers. -
I have a SS/Elec/Mu brute. Its a great defencive set. Especially the 9th Tier. I don't have his resistances capped, but even still he's soloing AVs, and can nearly perma Rage under some circumstances.
I think you'll come to love it. -
Currently I have a Claws/Invul with a sharkish theme.
I like him well enough but being at level 12 means its rough going. But later on it should get alot better especially with Invinc. You could always go for that. Although WP is apparently the more popular choice now. -
Hey everyone. My currently building scrapper is [as stated above] an ElM/Reg. He's at level 48 and I'm looking for build advice to make him a tad more durable when it comes to harder foes. [Though note, I'm not considering on the heavy slotting rawr rawr IO frenzy rawr rawr until he hits to top.]
Here is his current power layout:
Primary:
-Charged Brawl
-Havoc Punch
-Jacobs Ladder
-Thunderstrike [with a lvl 40 Rope-Dope acc/stun/rech]
-Chain Induction [with a stun proc]
-Lightning Rod
-Build Up
Secondary:
-All of them, no procs or IOs as of yet.
Pool extras:
Combat Jumping
Physical Perfection [needed an extra boost here]
Focused Accuracy
Health and Stamina [I have a habit of getting these even on Regens and WP. They always seem to help.]
As I said, I would like the character to be more durable without going to high in prices. [I'm seriously the poorest player in the entire game. I barely scratch 150mil at most.]
He preforms exceptionally well on most enemies, but there are certain ones [KoA and Malta to specifically name them] that wipe the floor with him. I was thinking it could be remedied with more recharge on Moment of Glory, though I am told there is no possible way to make it stream...
What do you think, experts? Am I the worst /regen ever for picking Stamina? [Though my endurance is a bit drainy even with all 3 added on.] Is /regen just not cut out for this kind of work? Or are there some reasonably priced IOs I could purchase for this sort of thing?
Yeah, I know some of you are gnashing your teeth and spluttering blood from your eyes at the very sight of my current power layout. I am well aware that "/Regen works without Stamina you noob!". The point is, I'm treading on slightly unfamiliar ground with this secondary. When I was faced with the decision, I took what I was used to. I don't need any more hammering on that nail. I already have a coffin. I just need to paint it. -
[I am aware that this was posted in the Suggestions sub-forum.]
This is an idea for a contest.
The contest is for the Mission Architect. The idea is to bring obscure writers with amazing arcs into the light and allow players to enjoy their arcs and them to be rewarded for their effort and creativity. Too many times are good writers left in the dust by popular people with sometimes mediocore or terrible arcs. I feel this could be a solution.
Entry Rules:
Each contestant enters ONE arc per individual.
No farms [Obviously!]
No adult-themed stories. [Have to think about the kiddies.]
Theme: NONE. This is a contest of creativity! Go wild! Imagine! Go out there! Be a horse of a different color!
No sagas or multiple-arc stories. [Its ONE arc per person. If you need to end it on a cliffhanger, fine. But don't add three arcs.]
Judging Process:
Each arc is tagged and given a number. You are not allowed to see the creator's name.
All of the arcs must be played for your vote to count. This will give everyone a fair chance at hitting the top. This is to try to avoid "popularity" trumping "Quality" [Edit: In other words, you can't say the "X" is the best when you havn't played "Z, W and J."]
Only after the contest can you see creator names. This is an attempt to avoid groups of friends creating biased votes. Granted, this will not be perfect, but its an attempt.
Developer votes count as 7 people. There are no other advantages to participants in voting.
Rewards:
The Highest rated arcs are named "Developer Choice".
The winner is allowed to add a badge as a reward for completing the arc.
Perhaps even a bit more. Maybe they could be allowed to help create a story line for a mission set for people in later content. Far fetched? Maybe. But, it could be an amazing experience.
If nothing else, its a nice opportunity to see what people think about your writing abilities. These are sometimes the kind of things needed to make the next big book or video game companies. [Remember the creators of Psychonauts? They were ex-employees of LucasArts, back when it made Monkey Island and Grim Fandango-type games.] Sometimes people need to test their abilities and see what people think about their work before putting money into it.
So, what do you think? -
Autobots! Transform and--oh.
Well, I think the Kheldian's shapeshifting system works perfectly fine for a "shapeshifting" set. Which, I would love to see. However, it is unlikely that we will ever get such a treasure.
Besides, can you imagine how much a set like that would cost for enhancements? -
I believe Incarnates will be the embodyment of this idea. I've supported it from the day I read it. We'll just have to see. But if it is indeed the case, congrats in advance, Ultimus.
