THe Savage Dragon villains with super flatulence or vomit. I mean, just gross.
The Spleen.
Invisiblity that only works when nothing is looking and I would have to be nude.
The guy in DP7 who constantly exuded acid. That was pretty bad. -

Quote:What do you want for immortality?Yeah, I'ma gonna go with that one. Immortality combined with being impervious to all harm might mitigate it a bit, but in the long run what a drag. In the end I think an immortal would be the epitome of d-baggery.
I could see some conversations going like this;
"Yeah I ruled the world as a benevolent god, I got bored then become the anti-christ personified, then decided to drift into obscurity, being a god of any sort is highly over-rated"
"Sex, yeah name it, I've done it all - what the hell did I care, anything somebody described as abberant behavior was forgotten about in 25 years or so. Besides its all boring to me know so just sell me the damn baby oil"
"I lost all faith in humanity when the bastards tried to harvest all my flesh in an effort to find out what made me immortal"
"Yeah, I've only had to live through about 5,647 of the most important people in my life dieing and for some reason you think being number 5,648 makes you special - whatever I'm taking a shower and hitting the road".
"So what, the stupid brat ran out in front of me and I couldn't stop in time... Sure I dont give a damn if I was drunk or not, send me to jail. Last time I went through a bus of nuns and my ride blew up killing them all. Spent five consecutive life sentences in jail and when I got out nobody remembered what I went in for".
"Yeah whatever, I've seen humanity decimate itself probably ten times over, you jerks bomb yourself back to the stone age every god-damned time, then build up your stupid society and argue over the same stupid crap only to bomb yourself back into the stone age again".
"Oh... so you want me to use my super science to restart the sun? Go to hell you bunch of slack-jawed troglodytes, let the damn sun blow up. I'm frigg'n tired of the lot of you anyway".
"Apathy? Helluva lot better than empathy"!
My soul?
My first born?
That is the one power that is potentially the best.
Can I be killed, or am I ageless?
I would never try to rule this mudball. I have better things to do. -
Quote:Red Tornado talks?Probably very similar.
And that's another thing I like about The Brave and the Bold. It's got a lot of fanservice, like JLU but with more screentime for the minor characters used. I think Red Tornado has more dialogue in just one episode of B&B than he had in the entire run of JLU.
Seriously though, things that are being said here are not an encouragement to me.
Aquaman in the JL and JLU from the Timmverse is closer to an idea of Aquaman making jokes. The Superfriends just failed to portray him appropriatly. -
Quote:Easy, and respectful. Not wanting inherent fitness is like not wanting free sex*. I'm sure some would make that choice but I will never understand why.
*now watch 100 posters attempt to craft bizarre scenarios to justify their nerdrage.
Free sex is fine when you are single.
As a married/engaged/exclusive relationship aknowledged and respected on both ends, the question is, where is this 'free' sex coming from. -
Yayy!
Scott Pilgrim is still in the theatre in Chico, CA! -
Quote:And I would take the powers in a heart beat.Nightcrawler's. He may be one of my favorite supercharacters, but the ability to teleport, wall-clinging, acrobatic ability, l33t fencing skillz, and having a prehensile tail don't make up for being blue, furry, and ... having a prehensile tail.
Nightbird from The Specials. An affinity witg birds and laying eggs I do not want.

Quote:We need to get this thread stickied and renamed. CoH recipes? It's not necroing a thread if its less than three weeks dead right?
Anyways found the perfect way to get unhindered CoH time from my wife (IE she stops adding to the honey-do list). I made chocolate covered blueberries and strawberries.
Its real easy. You just need some good quality chocolate in a decent quantity, the fruit, a cookie sheet or two covered with wax paper, and 2 pots one needs to be larger than the other. Fill the bigger of the pots with hot water, set on the stove and bring it to just below boiling. Put the chocolate in the second pot and place the pot in the first pot with the near boiling water. Stir the chocolate around. It will take a few minutes to melt. Then use a toothpick or metal skewer to dip the blueberries and strawberries into the chocolate and using another toothpick or skewer place the chocolate covered treat onto the cookie sheet. Once the sheet is full put it into the fridge to let the chocolate harden. When your wife or significant other comes home surprise them with your homemade treat. -
Quote:Batman's voice alone was enough for me to go ugh.Have you actually WATCHED the show though, and given it a chance? Or just based your opinion on snippets and posters? Because I'll be honest, I was worried when it was first announced (I'm a huge fan of Batman: the Animated Series, myself, and still think it's the best depection of Batman ever), but after I actually watched a few episodes, I enjoyed it. It's not even close to being anything like the godawful Schumacher film (The ONLY movie I walked out of).
I saw part of the episode with the Joker teaming up with Batman, as much as I liked Ceaser Romero in his Joker role, that is what it reminded me of, and I did not like it.
Perhaps there are some serious episodes. I can't say there are not. All I know is that the art work, voices, and over all feel just was enough to push me away right off the bat.
(Heh heh... bat pun)
Much like The Batman, this was a series that simply would not appeal to me. -
Quote:You are the first person I have spoken to that as sai there was any character evelopment at all. Not saying you are wrong, just surprise that anyone sai there was plot evelopment. No character developement? It had character developement. It just wasn't all big, complicated and the whole of the movie.
A merc goes back to rescue a girl, not for the money, but basically to save his soul. The scene with Mickey Rourke explains that, and was quite touching.
Was it the focus of the movie? Nooo. And it was never intended to be the sole focus of the movie. -
You know, as I read some of the other posts, I see the questions they are asking, and I wonder howmany actaully watched SP.
Ramona says why she is dating Scott. She actually explains that she has been playing the Witch (Convert to the real word as you will.) in her past. She also explains why she is into Gideon, and her other relationships.
Scott realizes, and explains his own personality quirks, such as his ****** baggery. Wallace, his conscience as it were, is one of his friens that TRY to make him a better man, an support him. They answer all the questions.
I am not seeing why people are missing that. -
It's not surprising. Just look at the schism we had in these forums alone in my SP vs The Expendables thread.
Many posters said they refused to see SP because it was
A) To much like a rom com
B) Did not like Cera
C) Conflicted ideas on who the target age was
D) Did not feel the movie was "manly" or had enough action.
E) Did not like that type of movie (They hate fun?)
F) Any combination of the above.
I mean, this should have been shoe in on the boards and it failed even that.
It's frustrating that such a good movie was out done by Eat Pray Love and Vampires Suck, much less an action movie that had the flimsiest story with no character development. Yet, there we go. At least I can understand why the Expendables beat out SP in the end, even if I disagree with that. -
I confess to being able to answer both sides of the question, I will state simply that, no I do not hate fun.
This is a throwback to the 60's/70's/early 80's stuff that I started to loath as a kid, much less a grown kid. It reminds me of Batman and Robin, the Schumacher film.
Camp can be good, but this is to much for me. It's an extreme departure from the comics, and the character himself. I remember reading the Batmite stuff in the comics, and I was not impressed then either.
Where as The Batman I was disappointed in the art style, and the depictions of the villains, in Batman:TAS I found the perfect depiction of Batman as well as his cast. There were bits of humor thrown in that were very Batman-ish. There was also continuity, and consequences. People died. Maybe not messily, but people died, and it brought a drama to the show.
Batman:TBaTB harks back to the Adam West style cartoony villains and jokes, and I can't take that. I snubbed it when Sho first loaded the poster for it, and every link that I have seen has made me very glad I have snubbed it. The only funny thing about that trailer was Green Arrow, and his "Can I be Batman", due to Ollie's Bat-envy. The voices annoyed me, as did the artwork. -
THat...was why I refused to watch the Brave and the Bold.

Glad I did not start this thread lol. I wanted to though.
Yeah servers are still down. Kind of odd, and frustrating. I have very little time in the mornings myself on Thurs/Fri to play, and no time really when I get home from work. -
Stamina is not necessary. Yes, it helps, but really both of my 50's never had it. A double slotted rest with SO's/IO's and I could literally rest between battles IF I needed, and by the time you get to 50, it's not needed.
Your mileage will vary on travel powers but I admit I always take them. -
I would think so. I thought both Epic ATs unlocked when you got to 20, but as I had my kheld prior to my VEAT, and they were both 50's I can't tell you yet.

I did not see this on the search. This is coming out on ABC this Fall, and I saw the trailer last night at SPvsTW.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1591493/
Looks like it is a bit of The INcredibles mixed in with Heroes so far. -
Nekkid farmer rednecks...
I think I need some mind bleach after that lol. -
It's like the Rogue missions for me. I mean, I did not mind the let's steal the stuff and sell it ourselves, but I prefered the "Lets get this stuff out of the market before it does more harm than good". I liked the Villain -> Rogue Mission where Frostfire wanted the weapon so I could let him become a cop. Why could I not choose that option instead? That would have really highlighted the push from Villain to Rogue, while at the same time, keeping in with the mercenary attitude.

I am starting to read the hacker/technomancer section of the book now. I like how it points out that a) your commlink often works invisibly in the background, and even when you are hidden, it will running the net, and b) running hidden can get you in as much hot water as being seen in the wrong section of town.

It's how some people simply live with themselves by standing by an ideal. It can get bad of course, but as long as no one is injured by my choice other than the industry I am spurning, then there is no harm. Even then, unless enough people make the same choice, 1 person will not hurt the industry. I can just sleep better at night, and not go into frothing rages at Quesada's name.
