Quote:Are you possibly thinking of Golden Roller?Willy's car is pretty big, maybe even blue police box big and with the only tricked out ride in town he's probably pick'n up all those Hellion girls who runaway.
::begin Principle Lewis voice:: Yeah thats what I would be doing if I had Willy's ride ::end Principle Lewis voice::
(or am I just missing a reference here?) -

Every 5-10 minutes I try to log on, and every now and on some attempts there's a slightly longer pause than usual between clicking the server name and getting the nuh-uh message, and for a brief moment I think the server's up and I'm about to get the character list. Then I get the nuh-uh message after all, and it's a total slap in the face.

Willy Wheeler. Just having to start each day knowing that you're Willy Wheeler must be pretty awful.

I *might* move my Victory characters there, depending on how the populations end up i.e. whether the anticipated influx of free and premium players brings up Victory's population size vs whether Exalted proves hugely popular with VIPs.
My Virtue and Freedom characters are staying put. -
The text descriptions for damage powers can be somewhat vague, inconsistent, and even outright inaccurate. You'd be better looking at the detailed info, and comparing the damage numbers there with other powers (esp. powers you're already familiar with).
Also 'light damage' doesn't have to be a bad thing if it's also cheap and fast recharging (i.e. lots of light damage rather than one or two heavy damage). Especially at low levels where you may not have many attacks yet.
But yeah, the melee attacks are generally fine. Dunno about the most minmaxed attack chain with them, but they should take you through those levels and beyond without any major problems. -
Same here. Having to wait a year to get my annual subscription reward tokens while others were getting them right now would have been a slap in the face. Slap. In. The. Face. Oh yes. I'd almost certainly have cancelled my subscription over that.

First I'll be camping as many names as I can get on the VIP server - not sure if I'll end up playing there, but if I do I want to be sure I have all the names I'd want.
Then I shall make:
A Pistols/Poison Corruptor (been a placeholder char waiting for this since Dual Pistols was announced).
A Grav/Time Controller (re-roll of a Grav/Sonic - I like the /Time aesthetic on him better).
A Beam/Sonic or Beam/Traps Corruptor (I'm undecided on which - Traps is fairly good fit thematically and more powerful than Sonic, but after rerolling the controller I won't have any Sonic Resonance chars and I like to keep my alts varied).
Probably also a Dark/Dark Blaster (alternate version of my main), and quite possibly a Ninja/Time MM just so I can shout "IT'S NINJA TIME!" at people. -
Downtime announcement is up.

Glad I didn't take Tuesday off -
Quote:I think he's referring to the fact that at CoH launch the servers were all stateside (i.e. before the EU servers were available) and there were plenty of EU (and beyond) players playing at that time. I guess the apparent confusion being in the EU players who, for whatever reason, were unable or unwilling to play until we had dedicated EU servers (for them the folks playing at launch on the US servers are "you lot").The EU servers used to be based in germany, and only recently moved Stateside several months in advance of the server list merge.
Or something. -
Hmm, was hoping for an estimated time for it going live by now (even just "morning" or "evening"). Guess I'm going to work tomorrow

Quote:You got the tier 9 rewards,150 PP/month, and /time before Going Rogue?Eh, only point 1 would be moot. and my main point was that no matter how high up the premium players go, VIPs will always get more.
If you want to argue that VIPs get a non-trivial amount more than Premiums and so is still worthwhile (and I'd agree) - pointing out that while high-tier Premiums do get a really good deal, that doesn't diminish the extra that VIPs still get - then fair enough, but doing so by stating a post is plain wrong when it's actually pretty much correct doesn't really help the argument. -
Once you get the Lich his Tenebrous Tentacles and Fearsome Stare will help keep them from running (albeit not incredibly reliably since you're at the mercy of pet AI).
Otherwise, you could try picking up a taunt power - that'll temporarily cause most runners to come back. Or hit a defensive-follow macro (or passive-follow, for a longer lasting effect) when your pets try to chase them.
Much later on there's the patron pools for aoe immobs and single target holds. -

If I'm reading the in-game power info correctly, from level 47 onwards Fortification + Crab Armor Upgrade is enough to block Rom's rez-stun (Crab Armor's protection is constant, but Fort scales with level). Certainly from my actual experience, you will never get stunned by Rom at 50 with just those two protecting you.
With regards knockback, 4 points will block the vast majority of kb in the game - but of the few sources of kb it won't block, most still won't be blocked by 8 points. But with high levels of +def the few knockbacks that could breach 4 points will miss most of the time anyway. i.e. I don't think it's worth chasing more than one -kb IO (if you can fit more in without any extra effort/slotting, great, but I'd not compromise anything for them).
Anyway, unless you have a really specific IO build in mind, just about any power pick is better than Wolf Armour for a Crab (tbh I feel similarly about Bane, but there's a bit more wiggle room there). -
Quote:You need to purchase some new powersets (e.g. Beam Rifle), but some are included in your subscription (e.g. Time Manipulation). So far most of the announced ones appear to require a purchase though. You'll get a monthly stipend of points as part of your subscription, so depending how much purchasable stuff you want (and how soon you want it), you may not actually have to fork out extra real-world cash for it.This all sounds great but I'm somewhat confused about the new power sets. Does this mean that even though I am VIP, I will still need to purchase the new powers sets, ie Beam Rifle? If so, I was under the impression that these were standard like Duels and Demon MM were when Rogue came out for subscribers. Just returned to playing and haven't caught up on everything that has happened yet. Requesting some clarification please.

I just want to know whether it's worth me trying to get Tuesday off, or whether the timing will be such that I can leave that til Wednesday (i.e. if it goes live after I'd be home from work anyway).
Though either way it's dependent on sweet talking my boss into giving me the leave at such short notice, especially as we're a bit short staffed already. But screw those guys, I want to play with the new shinies. -
This is exactly the release date I predicted, but unfortunately the forum logout bug kicked me right as I tried to post it and I never got around to trying again.

Quote:Well, it possibly helped, but not 100% effective - Haven't been kicked for a few days, but I just browsed to the forums for the first time today and the first sub-forum I selected resulted in a logout :/Quote:Not a guarantee of a solution, just a potential thing to try. See this post I just made in the other thread.

Quote:Thank you for this - obviously too early to say it's definitely solved things, but since trying it I've not had a single logout. In comparison the 4-5 days prior to trying it I was logged out within a minute or so of starting each session (usually as soon as I selected a sub-forum), and usually multiple times in the half hour after that (I was only in this thread because it'd gotten so much worse than usual in the last week or so).Not a guarantee of a solution, just a potential thing to try. See this post I just made in the other thread.
