  1. This seems like a no-brainer to me. Let the player (or team) choose whether to fight EBs or AVs. If the choice is in the players' hands they can make it as curbstompy or challenging as they want . . . well, except for Johnny because his tank will never be Superman.
  2. The preceding was a Zombie Origin post. For more, ZOs, contact your local provider or send a self-addressed, stamped envelope with as much cash as you can spare to Bionic Flea, General Delivery, Paragon City, RI.

  4. Yay!

Congratulations to both. May you play together happily for many years.
  5. Are you volunteering to get it done?

Don't get me wrong, I always want Mid's updated as quickly as possible with new powersets. But I understand this is a free service that fellow players provide in their spare time. So . . . the sooner the better but whenever they get to it is more than worth the price I pay.
  6. I have yet to delve into it too deeply as I only ran one character through the opening arc twice -- once with a group and again solo to read the story. And I did this with my namesake who already has his T4s so drops and IXP aren't a concern.

But it seems to me that the ability to earn IXP, I-merits, and components at any time of day on any server is not being given enough weight. Should it be faster? Perhaps. But just the ability to log on anytime, any server, and be able to earn these items is very valuable to me.

Even though Justice has a pretty good group of raiders that form trials every day at various times, I often have to wait ten to twenty minutes to get enough players or worse, fill up the league. Sure, sometimes you are the last person and it starts almost instantly, but more often than not there is significant dead time waiting to start.

I think we will all have to wait and see at least on month to find out how reasonable or unreasonable the DA path is.

  9. My most recent 50 is a Mace/DA brute built for endurance, recovery, and smash/lethal defense. The end use needs management in the 20s to 40s, but once I got all my IOs in and acquired Superior Conditioning and Physical Perfection I can run all my toggles and keep attacking pretty much non-stop.

    Issue 22...

Time to park some characters in Dark Astoria for nostalgia's sake . . . and to see what happens tomorrow.
  12. Psi melee tanks can read your thoughts. This is a major step in Rangle's plot to conquer the world, one mind at a time.

Then perhaps around the first or second week of April (just before the kickoff of the 8th anniversary celebration) we'll get Staff and Beast Mastery.

What's extra special about that timeframe is that it'll be like 4-5 weeks after ME3 hits which will probably be right around the time anyone who jumped over to play it will start to get burned out on it and will want to come back... just in time for new powersets to play with here...

    Veerry tricksy Paragon Studios.
I really, REALLY, hope that new powersets are released before March 16th. Otherwise I will have nothing new worth playing for double XP. And I am betting that I am not the only veteran that feels that way.
  14. My personal theory is that your time buddy was boosting your recharge with Temporal Selection and therefore you were attacking more than usual. Combine that with the periodic crash of hasten and you'll see your end bar suffering.

    Issue 22...

    From Dictionary.com:

    im·mi·nent   [im-uh-nuhnt]
    adjective
    1. likely to occur at any moment; impending: Her death is imminent.
    2. projecting or leaning forward; overhanging.
  16. My two cents:

I agree that a buffer/healer would be better than a tank to help your friends. A good defender/controller/corrupter can turn blasters into tanks.

I think that you should ask your friends to run a few Death from Below trials with you. They are very fast and fun, even for higher level characters. You should be well into the teens after a few runs and now able to have some basic buffs and attacks.

After that, do whatever your friends want to do. TFs, story arcs, AE, whatever you all have fun doing. As long as you are killing stuff the XP rolls in quickly in the lower levels.

You could also see if you have some XP boosters or Experienced temp powers from vet rewards or super boosters. Again, levels flow like water early so I wouldn't recommend using them until at least level 20 or higher.

Another little trick is to park your character at a Police Station in between play sessions. Leaving your character in certain locations grants time toward certain Day Jobs. The police station day job grants additional XP bonus.

Yes, there are AE maps and other popular farms that can get you levels at unbelievable speeds. Having someone run you through a few of these will be faster than anything else. There is nothing wrong with doing that, but it can get repetitive and boring. However, you should not pay for leveling in any currency. I never have and I never will.

Good luck to you and your friends!
  17. Don't rain on his parade, Johnny. Save your tanker loathing for other threads.

Grats, Khonsu! It looks like you had a great time.
  18. Wow! Very nice to see new arcs make it to Dev's Choice. Even better when it's a friend from my home server!

    Grats, DeepBlue!
  19. Congratulations to both!

I'm looking forward to great things from both of you (no pressure . . . ok, maybe a little).

Thanks for the response. I could use my existing slots and buy the others. I have an arc or two that I made when MA first came out but I'm not attached to them. As I understand it, I would need someone to email me the files and then I could load them and publish them. If my understanding is mistaken, I would be happy to be corrected.

    What? This little ol' thing?

  22. I started looking for a new project the other day and thought: "What if I could level from 1 to 50 just running AE missions that were specifically designed for that character." Essentially an origin story followed by a set of stories establishing the character and his (or her) nemesis and/or rogues gallery. Or, to put it another way, the first 40 issues of that character's comic.

The 40 issues comes from the limit of eight arcs with a maximum of five missions each.

Now I know that I can get from 1 to 50 in a few runs of CEBR or other farms. But while I have nothing against farms, the goal is to level exclusively by playing only 40 AE missions once each. That said, I have no qualms making the later missions farm-like with lots of enemies and ambushes.

Do you think that it is possible?

If so, how would you suggest setting up the missions?

If not, how many levels do you think I could get in 40 missions?

If I made this into a contest with significant prizes (billions in infamy, ultra rare IOs, etc.) would I get a decent turnout of submissions?
  23. I actually liked them.

Every so often, if I was bored, I would go to an Info terminal to look for my name and sometimes would decide to get my name into the top ten. I'd run off to kill a bunch of Nemesis soldiers or some other group, just to see my name in lights. It was a nice little mini-game.

My recollection of why it was disabled was because RMT was using it to send e-mails and/or tells to folks on the list. If that was the reason, considering all the other preventative measures that have been put into place since then, I hope that the Devs do bring back the terminals.
