I must've slept through last November - I'm assuming that the aim is to have 50 sketches produced between us. I'd quite like to throw something in the pot, if I can.

Thanks for the link, Standoff - and the obvious place to look, too. I'm now off to change my forum name to "Dumbkopf"...
  3. Thanks, Missy! I'll try to be composed and cool - not losing my temper and letting them fob me off (they really don't like the suggestions that the router may be faulty... it's always got to me my pc or the ethernet cable... or BT... or...)
  4. Well the big green BT cupboard with all the wires inside is just up the street. I don't think it's that: when I'm connected, the service is good - but I think I've got one of the duff freebie routers they give out. It was the same with the satellite - I went through 3 cheap freebie decoder boxes before they reluctantly installed a Panasonic 5 years ago - and, surprise, no problems ever since. I suspect the same is true with the router, but it's a lot trickier getting that confirmed. I expect that if I bite the bullet and stump up for a new router I'll have the same decent service as every else. I'm about as technically aware as Ludd "Luddite" McLudd of Ludditeshire, though

I have Sky BB and have had for 18 months. it's been relatively faultless.

    [/ QUOTE ]

We moved to Sky BB in the spring, but to be honest I'm disappointed. I drop connection at least once a day, often two or three times. I think it's the "free" router, which is probably as reliable as the "free" decoder box that came with the satellite tv installation. The problem with offering free routers is that they're hardly going to be top end because that would be simply uneconomic. I'm wondering, Miss - do have the same Sagem router that Sky post to new subscribers, or do you have something more reliable? It sounds to me that with your reliability of connection you have something better. If you have - please share! I need to replace the piece of junk on my desk before I call someone in Bangalore and start escalating my blood pressure again...
  6. And - "Blast" is a pattern for tights, so you can't use it as a battle-damaged version of any costume that has and other pattern.

If Liberty Girl turned up with a shredded uniform, people might notice that the Fake Nemesis she'd been fighting had not only torn her lycra, but hit her so hard he'd knocked the stripes off as well..

Out of curiosity, is there some kind of table or point of reference that describes the sliding scales of inf when in SG mode? I know you can earn inf when in SG mode at any and all levels now, but it would be helpful to see how it decreases. It would be peculiar if, at the levels you might want all the super-expensive uber-IOs, you can't earn enough inf to pay for them AND prestige to develop your expanding SG base. I don't know how much of a difference this all makes - and to a player like me, the differences may be negligible. I'm very curious to know, though.

    2nd Account

I think I'm right in saying that there was an announcement some time ago that if you were subscribed to just one of Villains or Heroes, your account would be upgraded so you could access both sides of the tracks. So you should get everything for your £8.99 a month.

But it may have come to me in a dream, and I'm slowly going mad. But I'm sure someone will confirm or deny this.

That's the game part, not the mad part...

    ...I'll get me coat...

    Harbinger OOC

Columbia draws her powers from a magic source, and has recently suffered very badly at the hands of some of the notable magic-based villain groups. She would feel compelled to investigate an unusual magical event.

If if you're involving villains, then Allatu, a former Queen of the Dead, fits in perfectly with Zombie Apocalypse
  10. That'll be what happens when I copy and paste from another entry without knowing much about what I'm doing.

At least the links seems to work, so I won't have to stand in the corner wearing the big pointy hat with a "D" on it.
  11. Done!

Pious had already had to sort that out after I brainlessly deleted a whole block of necessary text in the editor.

Some people should never be given puppies. Some should never be given weapons. Some should never attempt to enter data into a wiki.

If anyone's passing and feels like checking it, please let me know if I've mucked it up again!

  13. I should be there - I don't live far away so should have no excuse!

Having said that, I'd better make sure Mrs Happy-Dan hasn't made plans. It's the last weekend of half-term, and that means any normal routine is temporarily shelved. I'll consult the crystal ball and get back to you, Z - by when do you need final answers?

Even if I can't make all day, I'm not going to miss a chance to drink beer! (Speaking of which, The Champion, across the road from Battlenet, used to be a good little boozer of you like decent ale. no idea what it's like these days, mind.)
  14. Frank grinned inside his helmet as the firebolts cannoed from his gauntlets and streaked into the chest of the oncoming troll-queen. His grin dropped when the Hotsuit's energy cells packed up. Again.

    "Aww, sh-"

A green fist the size of a Virginia ham swung like a steamhammer and lifted him into the air and over the headsd of the nearby cops. He landed with a clang on the roof of a PPD paddywagon.

Frank shook the stars out of his head and lay there a second or two, wondering if he was dead or not. he opted for not. he'd need tools to get his helmet off tonight, though.

Good day fellas, my name is Pious Hunter, I'm a registered hero...

"What the f...?" Frank wasn't used to people getting into his head. He didn't much like it, either. But...needs must when the Devil drives, he thought.

...let us rendevous behind the PPD police van...

Frank lifted his head and realised he was embedded in the metal roof of...the PPD van. With a hollow clunking and creak of straining metal, he pulled himself to a sitting position and looked over the edge to see who was there.
  15. Frank Brewer hadn't seen Johnson's original declaration on TV. By the time he came out of the drugstore people were screaming about some new terror... so once again he's run home and thrown himself into the hotsuit.

Now here he was, hovering over the street as Firearm. Again. And here were the bad guys. Again. He landed near the centre of the police line and looked around for someone he could ask - someone who could tell him what was happening and what they needed him to do. Then he had to duck as a patrol car went flying over his head.

"Screw this," he growled, muffled inside his helmet. "I am so sick of this [censored] happening on my street!"

Firearm levelled his gauntlet weaponry at an enormous green troll-woman at the head of the line of trolls, and opened up an infernal beam of white fire in her direction.

They've also snatched Mass Effect up as well, Avi Arad (Ex-Marvel bigwig) has the rights and allegedly has plans afoot.
These things are bought, expire, rights re-purchased time and again - I doubt we'll hear much of it again as it plunges into developmental limbo.

    World Villains

Allatu is the summoned spirit of tne ancient Sumerian goddess of the Underworld, and as such is used to welding a certain amount of power. But, while she might enjoy a world twisted to suit her traditional needs, I doubt she'd have the appetite to rule the world...sounds as if something like that would require more daily effort than would be fun. Of course, if that meant she could rely on an enormous Undead bureaucracy to govern in her name, that might work... But who ever heard of a Civil Service being staffed by zombies..?
  18. Mucho fun! Thanks for sharing, you guys! It's really cool that you posted all this for us and I think Ravenswing deserves a cup of tea and a rest after typing all that lot up

... Hell in a handcart. You do realise that even if you broke Ellie out, she'd then be wanted fugitive? That the Unity Vigil would be bound by duty to arrest her on sight? Zori couldn't even let her back home on her island without facing hellfire from the media if they caught wind.

The chaos in the Zig will cause the potential for a lot of people to get hurt, prisoners and staff. The Unity Vigil -will- face off against these attacks when they start, no matter how noble their intentions, or who is behind them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was just thinking the same thing. I'm not creatively involved here, but perhaps I may make a suggestion: once it becomes known that there's something like a super-powered prison break going on, it wouldn't be very long before a response arrives that could involve any number of superheroes? Therefore, whatever happens in the Zig should be completed as fast as logic allows so as to prevent a mass of Capes arriving to complicate things. As much as I'd like Liberty Girl or Columbia to crash the party, it would probably only serve to muddy the water (and I'm looking forward to reading about it afterwards ). The ICA=ICC as far as this goes are better handled after the event?

Nice plottage - looking forward to seeing how this pans out!

    ...Fire/Dark, TA/Energy, FF/Arch and Psi/Devices are more uncommon.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have a Fire/Dark Corruptor - Tar Patch + Rain of Fire is a chuckle, but nevertheless you're not wrong - I don't play it that much...

In other news, I've seen a bucketload of Plant/ and /Thermal controllers recently, as well Plant/Thermal. I myself have a nice Plant/Rad and a slightly less well established Earth/Thermal going at the moment.

It's my understanding that if anyone mentions anything - ANYTHING AT ALL - as being a rare/not so popular/vanishing/whatever combo, all that will happen is that someone else is bound to turn up here and say that they've just seen a whole team of them take down the Ghost of Scrapyard without breaking a sweat and the next thing you know Assault Rifle/Sonic Resonance Corruptors will be the new byword for "uber".

    Or not.

  22. [ QUOTE ]
As I’ve mentioned a few times, I do find my sonic/sonic defender difficult to play. This is not because she’s a poor AT, just very unfulfilling.

About half of her attack powers are multiple targeted ones which means she can draw agro very easily and if she does a quick slap from a level one Hellion and she’s down. Add to this the primary set which, while it can be very effective (I think), doesn’t feel like it’s doing anything, and when I play her I feel like I’m stood around not doing a great deal.

This is obviously all about how I feel, rather than how the team feel about me (I’m as a player they find me really annoying ) and maybe things would be better if I got her up a few levels (she’s about level 25 at the moment and has been for two and a half years), but I find it much better to play a healer or a scrapper where I can see I’m having some effect.

The real shame is that’s she’s my favourite character.

Or more succinctly, what Sapphy said.

    [/ QUOTE ]

My sonic/sonic is now 43 or so, and I remember thinking she was pants too when she was lower - but I've had very, very positive responses from team members who love the buffs & debuffs, and although it's rare (there aren't that many of them), I always appreciate teaming my tankers with sonic/sonics because not only does the added protection feel safe, but the defence debuffs help make me feel like my tank can actually hurt something! I don't know how much glee a sonic brings to ranged ATs, but my experience is that team-mates in melee do very well indeed, thanks very much, with sonic bubbles scouring their ear-drums.

What makes (and made) my sonic/sonic frustrating was the absence of teams. It seems harder to find one, for some reason, and they really can't solo - Choral was running on Heroic and had failed her mission three times when I gave up and moved on to other alts. In a team that mission would be on Invincible and the debuffed EB would be down in a second thanks to a scrapper/tanker wrapped in sonic shieldy goodness.

People don't seem to like the noise...maybe that's why sonics are mocked and cursed to walk the fringes of superhero society

Essentially, what I'm taking a whole page to say is, keep at it with your fave character - sonics are excellent and I'll always take one or two to buff up my tanker any day of the week
