Sitting at 637. I've done many purges but I keep most of the dev communication I get. As expected, I do have plenty of nastigrams, wrist slaps but most of them are information requests.
-
I can't wrap my brain around "high DPS" and "going without stamina."
-
Followup, Slash, Focus, repeat. Needs 313% recharge in FU.
Followup, Slash, Eviscerate needs less recharge.
Followup, Slash, Focus, Strike needs even less. -
Are you going to ask this same question in every AT forum?
-
claws/wp
Take swipe, strike, slash, spin, followup.
Be the blender. -
Trudge is a pretty accurate word. I'm gonna be honest, when I hit 14 and realized that I wasn't going to get another single target attack until 18, I said to hell with it and powerleveled myself to 18. Things are better now that I have executioner's shot. Swap Ammo is planned for 22. I've skipped it so far as I enjoy the added knockback to go with gale.

It's a set that was designed for AoE output. Leverage that. As with everything else, see how it feels with SOs next level.
My DP/Storm Cor is rather weak at the moment as well and she's level 19. Did you snag the Change Ammo power? The fire bullets help smooth it out some. -
BF, I can think of a factor:
We know that that devs will be forced to change how names are dealt with in order to facilitate a merger.
This means time which means money.
If the financial expenditure needed to alter the game to facilitate the merger is more than the cost of leaving the servers as is, there will be no merger. -
Quote:Lots of spew, so little substance. Watch how easy this is, frosticus:So do I. If it helps diffuse the situation I'm just sitting here drinking my coffee and actually chuckling about the stuff in this thread. There is just so much swiss cheese being posted that I can't resist making a sandwich.
I'm almost thinking of flipping sides though because in this thread and in the Aion merge thread the anti-merge side is just getting destroyed. In discussions like these where none of what we say matters in the least it is more fun to have a good battle than to continually beat one side down. This thread is pretty much a write off seeing as the anti-merge side hasn't made a good point in pages now. The Aion thread is a bit more exciting in a raving lunatic sort of way. It is still managing to draw out large colored font in some posts and you have to respect that kind of passion. Regardless of how blind it may be.
The pro-merge crowd hasn't made a good point in many a page now. every argument they throw out has been destroyed as a useless waste of time.
See? Anyone can throw around baseless statements. -

Quote:If I recall correctly (yea, really CMA here) that the next pay period that you haven't paid for gets waved and you don't get autocharged for that month.Does the 'free month' mean they don't charge you the following month, or does it mean that whenever you finally decide to stop playing the game down the road, you can keep playing for a month after you've deactivated your account?
So if you pay one month at a time, the following month doesn't get charged. If you've paid for 3 months, when that period is over, the following month doesn't get charged, and when that is done, the next 3 month period gets charged.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. -
I'm 93% sure that you buy the mac code, apply it to your account, get a free month tacked on and then you've ended up paying $5 for the Valkyrie costume pieces. No need to ever download the mac installer.

Quote:I realize that I'm extremely late on commenting on this, but Arcanaville's statement is 100% true. Everything I learned about claws came from Stupid_Fanboy. I'm just louder than he is.
4. Since I'm here anyway, in my opinion Stupid_Fanboy should get more credit for Claws. As I recall, S_F was the one that first pointed out that Claws was broken relative to Geko's statements. Bill became more involved when Castle tried to tweak Claws' speed, ala his Pylon tests. -
Somebody better post pics of whoever they're getting to stand in as Desdemona. That's some serious hotpants to fill.

Cigars for females. Corsets for males. Dang it.

That made me smile, Marcian.
Marcian's view of the world: "There's fun people out there to meet!"
Bill's view of the world: "There's morons out there to avoid!" -
muuhahahah, I did something cleverly!
I stay on hidden from searches because I'm predominantly a soloist. On those rare occasions that I get tired of soloing, the first thing I do is keep an eye on PinnBadges. If I see a callout for a TF, I'll join it. If absolutely nothing is going on, I'll throw out the "I've got such and such here that wouldn't mind teaming if someone has a spot" on the same channel.
When THAT fails to get a bite, I'll un-hide and keep soloing. Often times I won't make it through the first mission after doing so before someone invites me.
However, I rarely ever stay with such a team for more than a mission or two before I go back to soloing. Too much usually occurs to agitate me rather than please me. -
Here's the scoop: Redraw DOES hurt DPS these days.
A while back all the drawn weapon sets had their redraw time baked into the animation time so that redraw supposedly didn't hurt overall DPS at all. I don't recall if that was true or not.
Then the devs thankfully yanked that baked in redraw time from most if not all of the weapon sets which in some cases made a considerable difference in DPS. In the case of claws, it was so drastic, some felt, that Castle created a whole new equation that adjusted the damage output of each attack based on its cast time.
Because of all this, redraw DOES hurt DPS considerably these days. (Note: the term "considerably" is subjective.) -
I'm still failing to see why so many of you think that when it comes to the use of the Hidden From Searches tool that forumites would be all that different from the general populace.
Do I expect better builds from forumites? Yes.
Do I expect forumites to be more up to date on changes occurring with the game? Yes.
But /hide usage? No, I'm just not seeing it.
But either way it boils down to two things:
Either the 1/3 hidden is accurate in which case we probably have around 60-65000 active subs, or yall are right and far less of the actual population uses /hide, in which case sub numbers are even lower.
Either way, it ain't lookin all that good. -
Quote:I'll... just leave this here for everyone to analyze.
Just because the process itself is working, doesn't mean that the process itself is not broken. -
I think we're entering a grasping at straws phase of the conversation.
The fact is that there's a thread showing 1/3 of the *responding* player population utilizing /hide regularly. While it's easy to throw out the "well forum readers are different" argument, it's just as easy to counter with "people find the information they seek cuz the internet has answers."
Because of that, I'll go with the information gathered and consider it good to go rather that dismissing it based on the highly dubious claim that forumites are some completely altered creatures that don't play like other people do. -
Just so that everyone is aware, the appropriate devs have been made aware of this thread through the proper channels.
-
Thank everyone. We're still hovering at 33% using Hide From Searches and have been hovering there for some time. I'm going to call it at that.
1/3 of the player base is generally hiding from searches.
Final tally:
Yes: 34
No: 68
Is this a scientific poll? Of course not. Could a dev swoop in and say "the forum going populace is not an accurate representation of the playerbase on the whole." Of course.
But for my calculations, 1/3 hidden it is. -
Scenario: Player is playing and finds that he keeps getting invites he does not want.
Question: What does player do about it?
Probably response: "I wonder if there's some way I can stop these invites from happening."
Player action: "Hey, does anyone know if I can block invites?"
Another player answers: "Team tab, top pulldown, change to Not Accepting Invites."
Player response: "Oh, sweet, thanks!"
Player starts getting tells asking if he wants to join a team.
Player response: "Ok, that kind of worked, but I'm still being pelted with tells."
Another player responds: "Type in /hide and choose your poison."
Player: "Sweeeeet."
