First thing I did after posting last post.
Same issue. Redirect not happening. No software firewalls. I am behind a linksys router, but I haven't made any changes to it in ages nor have I done anything odd to its default settings beyond opening a non-standard port for remote desktop.

Quote:Carnifax, you win one intarwebs! What domain name are you using to access the boards Bill?
Can you disable Automatic Redirection and see if there's any cross-domain jumping going on?
On my rig at work:
boards.coh.com automatically redirects to boards.cityofheroes.com where all login and site navigation transactions occur
On my rig at home:
boards.coh.com does not automatically redirect to boards.cityofheroes.com
After login, it redirects to boards.cityofheroes.com
Any click thereafter goes BACK to boards.coh.com for which there is no cookie and thus site navigation goes boom.
This post was made from the home rig over remote desktop by logging directly into boards.cityofheroes.com
Now all I have to do is figure out WHY the redirect from boards.coh.com is not happening immediately as it should be happening. -
Flea, as far as I can tell, yes, I'm set to accept cookies in both IE and Chrome. All cookies are cleared automatically during browser shutdown.

I've PMed the appropriate devs including a link to this thread. So far, no response at all. I can't tell you how pissed off I am about this. I've got it to the point that I've got *some* positional sound working on my front speakers, but I get zilch from the back speakers.

Tried it but sadly, no go.
Logged in, first screen looks normal. Saved that as a favorite, clicked on New Posts, got bounced to a screen stating that there are no new posts and instead of showing as logged in I see the normal blank boxes for username and password. Click on the favorite link, get placed back at the normal first screen after login, and show as logged in, but as soon as I hit New Posts or PMs, I get bounced back to either the screen mentioned earlier or the one that states You Must Be Logged In For This Feature.
I've seen plenty of posts about random logouts, but this doesn't appear to be related. Rather this is a constant inability to navigate the site at all after initial login. -
I need some ideas on how to troubleshoot the following issue:
Workstation: XP SP3 using Chrome or IE8
Log into forums, click on Anything, PMs, New Posts, it doesn't matter, find myself placed at a screen stating that I'm not logged in.
Move to Gamestation: Win7 using Chrome or IE8, no issue. Move to Laptop: Win7 Chrome or IE8, no issue. Move to workstation at work: XP SP3 using Chrome or IE8, no issue.
The problem is ONLY occurring on my primary workstation at home. I've reset all Internet Options in Control Panel to Default. I've run Spybot, Malwarebytes and a full scan with Avira. I've cleared all browser history, cookies, cache, etc on both browsers.
No matter what I've done, the problem persists. One oddity: Yesterday I cleared out a few items from Avira's quarantine and was able to get one page loaded before being dumped back out to the forum login prompt.
It appears that *something* is blocking the site's ability to utilize cookies.
While I'm already resigned to wiping my rig and rebuilding it from scratch (I think I'm over 3 years without a OS wipe) I wouldn't mind trying a few more things as I have other items in life that need my attention more than the several hours it will take me to backup/rebuild.
Thanks much for any ideas. -

Quote:Me, too. Running away isn't the only option. There's also faceplanting just like blasters do so well. Luckily, the stalker actually has real mitigation on top of those low base HP so he isn't nearly as fragile as his blaster cousin.
Looking forward to Ninjitsu going to scrappers.
As I said, you're turning into the JB of the stalker world. You want your stalkers to have all the benefits of being a stalker but with none of the downsides just as JB wants all the benefits of tanker toughness but without the balance of having lower damage output.
If you want a low HP character with the ability to hide, placate and dish out extreme burst damage while terrorizing a spawn while doing so, you play a stalker. And you deal with low HP and low AoE output. If you can't handle playing the niche AT that holds a superior place in a niche area of the game, then don't play that farkin AT.
Stalker: Niche burst damage AT specifically built for PvP then reworked to make it slightly more accepted in normal team PvE
Brutes and scrappers: generalist damage dealers with enough mitigation to handle off tanking. Off-tanking can be described as "tanking enough for practically everything in the game when playing with competent teams."
Tanks: Niche damage soaker aggro magnet.
All four are balanced quite well for what they do. Give it up, stop being a JB. -
Glad to see this on there, S_F. Thanks for the work.
Quote:I'd REALLY like to see this fixed, Castle. Thanks much.Darkness Mastery - unresolved
Bug: Nightfall appears to be using the Scrapper's Ranged Damage modifier. All other Scrapper ranged attacks in primary and ancillary pools use the Scrapper's Melee Damage modifier -
Sam... the point of using a <spoilers> alert is NOT to spoil anything for those not in the know.
You spoiled it in the title.
That said, yes, your RP reasoning is fine. She's been the cause of a great many innocent deaths by being part of the resistance. In exactly the same way that you have been part of a great many innocent deaths by being a loyalist.
The only way to win is not to play the game. -
So now Butane's take is that tanks suck because scrappers on teams get to be lazy and this is completely unfair to those painfully overworked tanks that do nothing but spend 100% of their time struggling so diligently against their foes, protecting their squishy buddies and valiantly standing tall as the pinnacle of heroes.
Those damn dirty scrappers. All they do is kill things when they're not smoking their dirty cigarettes and sipping their dirty lattes.
Oh woe to the downtrodden tanker! Oh, the humanity! -
On my elec/ene dom, I am planning to move away from the ranged blasts and more into melee mode. Conductive Aura is just too nice not to play towards its strengths.

Quote:Stalker: Melee blaster with mez protection and decent mitigation. If you don't like that, quit playing them.Scrapper-Brute-Tank.
Where does the stalker fit I wonder.
Oh that is right. It doesn't fit.
Stalkers are balanced with the other melee ATs. They have tools to run away which keeps their squishy butts alive. They get the highest burst melee damage. They do better in PvP. They are working as intended.
So quit with your constant whining. You are rapidly becoming the Johnny Butane of the stalker world. -
Another convert to the truth!
Question: What's better, the scrapper or the brute?
Answer: That depends: which one am I currently playing? -
I now have energy assault on two of my three dominators. I love it. Especially on my grav/energy as he gets to stay at range in perfect safety with a full ranged attack chain. Unlike energy blast's power push, energy assault's power push does the correct damage for its recharge value. Lock 'em down and blast the snot out of them.

Transferred nothing. I only play on Pinnacle. Used up the two new slots there.

Dang, I was too slow. That post you quoted was dumb, GP. It was a dumb statement made without thinking it through. Telling anyone to skip taking their mez protection because they enjoy getting knocked around the battlefield and becoming less efficient is no reason to ask them to become Completely useless in melee.

I went through the hoops to nuke my facebook account from orbit 2 days ago. The constant stream of ignorance was too much for me to handle.

Quote:Does the KB hole provide mitigation for your foes in the same way that it provides mitigation for players that use it? Yes.
is the lack of KB protection so bad that its dragging the set down?
Does it do so by causing you to be unable to attack during the knock phase? Yes.
Does it prevent you from using the tools that you must use to provide yourself mitigation such as self heals? Yes.
The answer to your question is yes. The KB hole is detrimental to the set. This detriment lacks logical reasoning for its existence especially when comparing the overall benefits the set provides and the overall benefits that sets without the KB hole provide.
You find that FA is a movement orientated set. I agree. Too bad you can't move, heal, drop burn or do anything else while you're being tossed around the battlefield like a squishy. -
Go to the server select screen, notate the 5 that are on the bottom.
Note that the last server you logged into will be the one on top.
Log into the 2nd server in the list. Drop back to the server select screen. Now notate again the last 5 servers in the list.
You will now have your answer. -
Delete the shortcut, delete the beta install directory. Call it done.

Quote:Pylons and that Praetorian AV wench that spams a KB attack. Watched her KB a freaking tank with every hit and the tank had acrobatics. I had three KB IOs on my em/fa brute before I deleted him and the pylon still tossed him around with ease. Fark a buncha FA and DA. As long as the KB hole exists I will not waste my time with them. What are you going on about? I agreed 1 KB protection IO was very useful. I am simply stating that there is currently almost no reason for more and even in the two places where it may be a problem to only have 1, there is a simple solution that does not impact your build.
