I came in to make sure that Wolfmother got a mention and see that MentalMaden has it under control. Wigged out the first time I heard the self-titled album. The rock-god nostalgia was HEAVY.
For the record, MM, you and I are in 100% agreement on Metallica although I'll always have a soft spot for the black album due to it being released while I was in the army. Good memories of massive debauchery, German girls and German beer. Heh... that and RHCP's Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik.
Edit: To the OP, I see that you picked up Tool: Aenima. Great choice but please add Tool: Undertow to the mix as well. It's in my top 10 albums of all time. -
Quote:Why on earth would I want to nerf myself like that? My primary is Troll-Rage for fark's sake!
Should the BGGA Toggle ever drop you will find yourself in complete Troll-Rage and will blast the first even slightly disagreeable post you read -
Quote:While I understand Completely the hatred of a fast set becoming a slow set, in EG's defense, what he's proposing is in no way a nerf, which is all the change to ET was.
I've already gone through this agony with my Energy Melee Tanker.
It would, however, change the feel of the PB, especially in the low levels, in a way that I don't agree with.
I'm all for changing light form. It's completely unfair that PBs should have to suffer through that ridiculous crash when their WS cousin has absolutely no crash at all.
I'm all for reworking Photon Seekers.
I don't even see anything wrong with placing mez resistance in the shields.
I'd even back changing PB buildup to be something more interesting like the new fiery embrace.
But the rest of these changes? No thanks. -
I feel even MORE ripped off than I had felt. I was pissed that the alpha got yanked from I-18 but I understood why, even if I completely disagreed.
Now we're not even getting what we were going to get in I-19?
It's ******* ********. -
I see. Second post down in the PAX tweets. http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=237378
That's... pretty farking pathetic.
I'm going to continue to hope that we're getting more than just the alpha slot. I guess we'll find out if the damn thing ever goes to beta. -
Quote:And has been worked on for how long before GR went live? Positron has been working on this for a while apparently.Even though i19 is supposed to be super-small and be out within the next two months?
Originally we were to get alpha with 18 as a taste of the incarnate system and then with 19 we get more incarnate stuff and the content with which we're to use the incarnate powers.
Why would they yank out that which was done enough to be ready for I-19 because they wanted to tweak how the alpha was unlocked? -
Quote:This is not what I recall. It WAS established that Only the alpha slot was going to be in I-18/Going Rogue and that more was coming in I-19.I think it's very likely that they'll be releasing multiple Incarnate slots in Issue 20, probably 2-3 more, but it's pretty well established that only the Alpha slot will be in i19.
Then they yanked the alpha from GR.
I see no reason why they would yank the incarnate items that were planned for I-19 to replace them with nothing but the alpha they yanked from I-18. -
A 3 second recharge single target attack, if going by the "rules," does .84 damage an costs 4.368 endurance.
Why Castle decided to break those rules for Psionic Dart, I do not know but I see no reason for it to happen with Peacebringers as well.
EDIT: Has CoD not been updated since the Dom changes? It still show Psi Ddart at .84 damage.
EDIT2: Mids also shows it at 44.4 versus CoD's 44.38
You sure that patch not didn't have a correction later on in another patch, EG? -
Quote:My brutes used to hit 85% fury with rare spikes to 90%.You must not look at your actual numbers then.. Otherwise, you'd see that wonderful 30%-40% reduction in damage bonus from the 'new & improved' Fury.
Now they hit 75% with rare spikes to 80%.
That's a 20% damage buff difference. Not 30% to 40%.
Another way of stating that is my damage buff from fury has on average been reduced by less than 12%.
Including enhancements, my overall damage buff has been reduced by less than 8%.
As I include other damage buffs, be it from buildups or setIO bonuses, the overall nerf gets smaller.
Was it a nerf? Absolutely. But let's not overstate how bad it was. -
I cranked up a km/ea brute last night. Yes, EA is weak. KM's -damage should help out some, though.
Sure does look cool.
EDIT: On the plus side, with fitness going inherent in I-19 and EA having the ridiculous overkill on endurance management that it has, should be pretty easy to handle the cost of maneuvers, weave, combat jumping and hover for the defense it needs and tough to buff up the piddly S/L damres it gets. -
Quote:Not really ever a good idea. Focus is the highest DPA attack in the set, even with Castle's damage/cast tweak in place. The following are based on arcanatime not stated cast time.
(I chose not to use Focus in any attack chain)
Scrapper:
Focus: 1.242
Slash: .833
Strike: .758
Followup: .758
Swipe: .663
Brute:
Focus: 1.485
Slash: 1.035
Strike: 1
Swipe: .795
Followup: .758 -
What Dechs said. I've never had fury generation issues on any of my brutes before or after the fury nerf. (Which is why the change will ALWAYS be a nerf to me.)
As mentioned a post or two back, I ended up keeping my claws/wp and making a new claws/dark. I won't have any idea how good it will turn out until after SOs since claws on a brute rocks so hard in the low levels it messes up my ability to analyze it properly early on.
EDIT: Just looked at the differences between Cloak of Fear and Oppressive Gloom. Think I'll be going with OG as it costs a LOT less end and has normal accuracy versus CoF's .67 base ACC. -
I like the fury claws.
Eviscerate/Ripper both have a cap at 5 targets. I only hit 5 with eviscerate when I'm placed well on huge spawns. As the number in the spawn drops, it gets harder and harder to line it up.
Throw Spines doesn't knockback like Shockwave.
Even as glorious as Claws-Spin is, my gut tells me that Quills + Spine burst will easily surpass it over time.
So for AoE: Spines > Claws > Fire and reverse it for ST damage.
You want the AoE damage god? Spines/Fire/Pyre Scrapper. -
I made my claws/dark brute last night, didn't even delete Chaoswolf to make it so now like half of my Pinnacle roster are brutes. Can't even remember what I named her as I also created a KM/EA brute, an A/TA corruptor, a DB/WP stalker and played my FA/FM tank for a while on top of my nightly HV merit runs on Bill and Louis.
Was a good gaming night. -
Uses the highest of the two. No second roll.

Quote:But don't you get Imperious until the last mission?? How does Emp/Psi handle the first 3?Quote:Find a group of people that will play with you until last mission. Keep one of them on the TF forever (have a person sacrifice the char to you, and perhaps you pay them a fixed % of your revenue.)
You can freely change difficulty settings mid-ITF by switching the settings and logging out.
<_< It may not seem like it, but I'm pretty damn brilliant when I want to be.
If you can't solo the ITF, all of it, then you can't solo it. (Yes, the exception of course is the logged off pad.) I've only made one attempt to solo the ITF and failed due to the autohit fluffy gettin up in my grill.
Someday I'll give it another shot. -
Hell... I might reroll Chaoswolf, currently claws/wp brute, as a claws/dark brute. Sound fun and fits the concept.
-
I would be perfectly happy if it was locked down to only being able to invite from your own account.
-
Quote:You could just re-roll him.
Get a solo base for storage, buy up ... what... 5 respecs? Strip him down and start over. That's gotta be cheaper than buying all the IOs over again.
Think about all the pros: You'll get all your vetspecs back, and you'll have a better character, and you'll have a taunt aura.
All true. But I'd lose all of the anniversary badges. Strange that I care about them considering the only badging I do is for the accolade buffs. -
Quote:The truth is painful.
I know that! I was just poking fun at how many posts of his I've seen where he claimed the brute version would be better. Like this one. -
-
Quote:Sounds like my claws/sr scrapper.
-Can take out +4x8 w/Bosses groups in a respetable amount of time
-Can walk into a variety of mission maps that ar not catered to one specific type of damage and still mow though +4 groups without face-planting often.
-Has a respectable single-target chain of attacks as well as great AOE's
-Can be managed with healthy endurance levels
-Is not a Fire/Kin Troller -
I don't think it should be otherwise.
An invulnerable tank with tough/weave is an obvious case of pool powers precisely strengthening a character's strengths.
An SR scrapper with both is covering one hole (the dam-res with tough) while strengthening a strength (the defense from weave.)
A blaster with tough and weave is doing nothing but adding mitigation he didn't have before.
However, what are the primary differences between those three examples?
The tank may be getting damn close to immortality, but he deals out very low damage.
The scrapper takes a lot more incoming damage than the tank, and this is balanced by his greater damage output.
The blaster is the king of damage, dumping it from range.
I find that the situation is balanced as is and needs no change.
Now gimme that vet power that lets me take tough/weave without having to bother with boxing/kick. -
Quote:Perhaps you've learned a valuable lesson then: Don't be disrespectful to others (see quote: "This is about as idiotic an argument as when BillZ said..." as well as other posts in this thread alone) and they might remain respectful toward you.
Truth be told, I already 'took it personal' when BillZ, someone I actually considered a respectful poster, stooped to something petty.
Now that you've shown what a hypocrite you are, however, I doubt you'll learn anything from this. -
Quote:Good thing I never stated that no one likes or wants to play the set. I said that far fewer players are starting new characters with EM due to the nerf it received and that far fewer scrappers are asking for its proliferation since that nerf. This is stupid. I can give you evidence that there are still a decent size of players playing EM but to expect the same number (or even close) belies the results you want to see. What about those new sets introduced to those ATs? Or even lowered requirements to play EATs.
No, the proof you want is impossible. But that still doesn't mean no one likes or wants to play the set.
It's of no surprise to me that you don't have access to the data I requested. I don't have it either. It's also of no surprise that instead of bothering to come up with at least some kind of argument showing that EM is anywhere near as popular as it was outside of stalkers, the AT designed around heavy single target damage output, you chose to assign statements to me that I didn't make.
