How would you police the new RP server? Have NCSoft support move the characters of non-RPs that decide to crash the party to another server? I don't think that NCSoft would agree to the financial expenditure there.
RPers need to police their own space. Someone gets on your team that refuses to RP, kick them.
RPers don't deserve their own server any more than farmers or numbercrunching power gamers deserve their own servers. -

and I suppose there are some female options male characters would like to have (though I don't know what)
As you mention, chicks need cigars. -
Again... word order can drastically alter meanings. I didn't know you or Morgan swung that way, but hey, whatever makes ya happy.

Quote:One thing to note about this, C&E, is that only the red-star will have the ability to move the group and base. Guess what this means to every other character in that group? POOF. No longer in the group. They will then have to transfer every character, one at a time, to the VIP server and rejoin the SG, losing all prestige history by doing so.
But transferring a whole SG, en masse, means there are quite a few players that will most likely be making a permanent move.
I think your fears will turn out to be unfounded.
There was mention of a "heavy hitters" group being formed on the VIP server just for the hell of it but that would mostly consist of new characters. -

That was very nice, DR. Especially the ending.

Quote:Actually, SR is even better on a brute.Thank you everyone after listening to everyone i may go back to the drawing board and pick another defence i want to be a brute and it sounds like the SR is made more for a scrapper
1: Higher base hit points on the brute means that SR's passive scaling dam-res has more to work with. More time to scale up the DR means a tougher character.
2: Brute SR Evasion gets a taunt aura.
Were I to take my claws/sr scrapper main and turn him into a brute, he'd be even more a monster than he already is. That higher base HP also translates to more regen, something SR loves.
Quote:It is tried and true on scrappers and many are of the opinion that claws got a bit sharper when it was ported to brutes. -
Been running 11.5s here since last month sometime. No crashes. Decided not to load 11.6 due to this thread.

So... when are we getting offline sg/vg invites so that we can get our own alts into our own groups?

Don't come in here and expect to get away with BSing the PVP community Je_Saist because unlike the rest of the community we will call you on your bull ****. It's a lesson the Devs have learned. -

A railroad sign? Really, devs? Ahh damnit I gotta have that.

Quote:Interesting and no I'm not sure at all. CoD is showing it's an 11ft radius sphere with max targets 5. http://tomax.cohtitan.com/data/power...ttle_Axe.SwoopYou sure it's a PBAOE tankers? According to mids, it's a single target attack for tankers as well.
-
Tank maybe, but Parry/Divine Avalanche should give the same value for brutes as they do scrappers since brutes and scrappers share the same base mitigation values.
-
Actually... yall got me thinking... how hard would it be to do a powerset proliferation? Let's look at Battle Axe since Sam brought it up. Can we just "add it to the spreadsheet?" I'm betting yes.
Check 1: Are there any differences between the brute and tank versions?
Yes, the order is different due to tanks getting taunt earlier. Scrapper order would follow brute order and taunt would be changed to confront.
Damage? Identical.
Base accuracy? Identical.
Going off of CoD, it appears that Swoop was turned into a single target attack for brutes. So too would it be for scrappers. (Note: This should be checked in game. If CoD is right, then the end cost and recharge on swoop is wrong for brutes.)
So, other than changing taunt to confront, the devs could proliferate Battle Axe to scrappers by copy/pasting without any changes at all. They of course COULD change it based on "feel" but there's no balance reason to do so. -
Quote:Something tells me that some people don't understand how powersets are balanced.
Giving brute's lower base damage, but balancing it against Fury Generation to be higher damage with fury
Example: Dark Melee: Smite:
Damage: .32 smashing/1 negative
This is the value for brutes and tanks and scrappers. The existing AT damage modifiers are all that's needed.
Claws was altered when it was proliferated to brutes, but the base damage was actually increased. Scrapper Claws Focus is 1.39 while Brute Focus is 1.51. This wasn't done for any balance reason. It was done solely to make the set "feel" a little different. -

Very nice. -
Have I stuck around for the community? I don't know. I thought I stuck around because BZB looks so damn cool when killing stuff.
/says the dude with 30000+ posts on social forum
Ok, maybe some of it is you people. -
Quote:Of course they're going to say that and ya know... I believe them. They've put a lot of good stuff into this game over the years. In the ustream from yesterday (6/22/11) they stated that you would be able to get good stuff with you 400 stipend, and not feel gipped. (Paraphrasing). Now ofcourse they didn't say what that stuff is.
The question is how MUCH good stuff will that 400 points cover? There have been people in this thread stating that it's ok to get one powerset for 400 points.
In 2010 we got 3 issues. 4 powersets, 3 new zones covering 1-20 content including a bunch of new contacts, costumes, side switching, trials, incarnate powers, etc.
Some of you are stating that it will be fine to use 4 months of your stipend for just the four powersets. What about the costume sets +temp powers that also cost 400 a pop? 4 of those and we're down to 1600 points left for the year. Couple of new contacts and story arcs and now you're tapped.
Unless you spend a bit more cash for some extra points.
Yes, choice is good. Maybe I get to test out that new powerset and determine that it's not for me. Great, I can use those points elsewhere. That's nice. I never bought the party pack because I didn't consider it worth the money.
That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about sub+stipend+cost of a booster a year NOT being enough to get the the same quality/quantity of good stuff we've gotten in past.
I don't have enough faith in corporate America to ever believe that any move of this nature won't end up being a money grab. -
Quote:This point has been stated by others as well. It implies the assumption that the cost of all sold content won't outpace the stipend received. I'm unable to find any reason why anyone would believe this. With the stipend of points that you get as a sub, the absolute *worst* that could happen if they charge for something is that you might have to wait a bit.
Best case scenario is that in a given year, the content received will equal the normal amount received plus an amount equal to the booster packs with the total outgoing financial expenditure equal to the sub+packs.
Worst case scenario is that we end up paying 1.5 to 2 times our sub cost per month to get the same amount of content we used to get for 1.07 times our sub fee.
Granted the following: Our economy is in the dirt, lots of folks are struggling, game may HAVE to increase income just to keep the doors open. It happens. Right?
