Quote:I will always choose tough/weave over maneuvers/tactics, but I've long wished to be able to fit assault in somewhere. I have yet to be able to do so.I'm a big fan of Leadership, even when soloing. If it gets me kicked from a team, LOL @ team. What's the problem, you think my build must suck because there are obviously too many compromises in it if I have Leadership? OK. Your team's loss.
Yet another reason to add to my list of reasons that I don't team with pick up groups. *chuckle*
Swift/Health/Stamina
Movement prereq/Movement
Tough/Weave
Combat Jumping
That seems to be the rule on all my melee characters.
However, kicking a scrapper that chooses to team because he built for teaming? I'm with Werner. That level of ignorance is one of the primary reasons I solo so much. -
I don't believe it crits, and I think the "why" of it is that it is not part of an attack set.
It doesn't appear that the damage auras crit either. -

Early last week I deleted my main villain. He hit 50 shortly after the level cap was raised from 40 to 50. He dinged 38 last night. So far he duoed with Mid_Forever for a bit, and teamed up to take down the Ghost of Scrapyard, but for the rest he was solo running unlockable contacts and paper missions. I think he was 26 when I logged on Friday night.
So far so good on the plan to get him to 50 before I-16 goes live. -
Quote:Based on this statement, especially keying in on the word exceptional for defense, perhaps you should consider a tank.1. does good damage good health and exeptional defense (could always use enhancements
Tanks have the best damage mitigation in the game for melee. Highest base hitpoints. Base values for each power are higher than what their brute/scrapper cousins get making it far easier to hit the damage mitigation caps.
But their damage output isn't anything to write home to momma about.
I've finally accepted the great words of wisdom from my scrapper brethren and will be utilizing the over the top potential damage output of dark melee paired with shield defense, but I'll be doing it on a tank.
The extra damage output should help keep me entertained (where all other tanks I've tried have failed in this,) while the higher hitpoints and ease of hitting the defense softcap will make herding up the masses enjoyable. -
Quote:As we have determined DM/SD to be the end all be all on potential damage output, and as I my rebuild for my main villain is DM/WP, and as I already have a FM/SD brute, I have decided that SD/DM tank should be the way I go on that combo.Whatever you do. Don't make a DM/SD or FM/SD!
There is a very good chance you might not play your other scrappers anywhere near as much because of the insane toughness/survivability/damage. Those orange numbers with saturated Soul Drain/AAO are some kind of addicting.
Same goes for tanks in most situations PvE situations.
Matter of fact, it'll be SD/DM/Pyre Mastery. Should be a hoot and not completely painful to play like most tanks are for me.
Thanks for yet another push, scrappers! -
I'm 99% sure that you can give up on this hope since both SS and MA got alternate animations.
On the topic of who gets into GR beta:
I hope that those are not the only guidelines, and rather doubt that they are, for getting into beta. They'd be leaving out a lot of known good testers. -
Quote:Aye. The first run lacked procs but the recharge rates are so high that they couldn't be done without hasten and massive setIO bonuses.Well they don't have Proc iirc, but they are not from common IOs because the attack chain need lot of recharge to run them. Like Dark Melee for Scrapper attack chain is MG/Smite/SL/Smite. You need 234% rechrage in MG to run this there is no way you can get that with Common IOs.

Quote:Going off memory, I think I went for 90% fury. If that's wrong when I double check later, I'll edit this.
Because you put alot of effort into it and did a good job and it is helpful to alot of folks. Good job!
I had a question though. It may have been answered somewhere in the 300 posts on this thread, but I didn't read all of them. Did you include fury for brutes? Ifso, how much? -
Must resist urge until I-16. Then the claws/wp can be built. Going to dump my db/wp scrap and ss/wp brute.

Quote:I'm not sure that your numbers are accurate.Once every ~5.5 seconds, you can prevent incoming damage from up to 10 targets for roughly 1.75 seconds, assuming they're within the rather restrictive area of the 90* 30' cone and don't have any knockback protection. Assuming that you're hitting every target every time and using the power every time that it's up, that's ~32% mitigation.
But I think I know how I can test it out in the RWZ. It isn't difficult to get 4 +4 bosses grouped up so that SW hits them all without any further maneuvering once set. It's how I manage the RWZ challenge these days. FU, Spin, Shockwave, repeat.
When doing so, each boss is dropped down to one attack per cycle when they're lucky enough to pop it off. Often times they aren't even that lucky.
Prior to IOs, SW was the only power I had on my claws/sr that allowed me to get through the old RCS challenge.
So if shockwave is reducing incoming attacks from 3 to 1 per cycle, from 4 enemies, that's a little more than 32% mitigation.
EDIT: That's not to mention that DA/Parry does absolutely nothing against ranged S/F/C/E/N/P nor the vast majority of AoEs. -
I gets my own school of fightin? Woot!
As mentioned, the scrapper forum is my main home because those that frequent here seem for the most part to be far more into helping each other with builds and tactics than with whining and cranking up the flamewars.
It seems we are bound together by the joy of carnage and relish assisting others in their quest to add a little chaos to this virtual world we so enjoy hanging out in.
(Does Firefox spellcheck not work on these forums?) EDIT: Seems to fail in the quickreply box, but not in advanced post box.)
Anyway... there's good people here and I'm excited to see our numbers swell and our minds expanded by the inclusion of our cousins from the land that actually has some history.
Kill hard out there! -

Quote:Bizarre. Checked my first post upon logging into the new forums and it does now reflect the change. Cool. All good. All my posts reflect my current choice in signature rather than the signature they were posted with. I would say that simply refreshing the desired page would solve the issue of previous pages sigs being uncurrent.
Nope. Not quite. Some posts have signature turned on. Some don't. Those that don't must be manually edited to enable it. -
Quote:Bummer. I prefer to have all posts, past and future, to show whatever my current sig is. However, I do understand that having it work as is probably causes less strain on the system.Bill, IIRC vBulletin actually saves the Sig with the post. If you edit your Sig later on, pre-edit posts will retain the old Sig and post-edit ones will receive the new Sig. Unless you do what you did. I actually like this feature because often signatures also represent their times.

I fail to see how this is a technical issue.

How do you autojump to latest new post on a thread? Nevermind. Figured it out.
-
That could be bad, Obsidius. EDIT: DOH! Yes. VERY BAD.
EDIT: Removed huge freaking image. -
Come to think on it... it's rather odd that the sig pic isn't showing up on the posts I made prior to adding it.
That implies something odd. Checking!
EDIT: Ok, I can go back to old posts, edit them, go to advanced edit and enable sig. Now that it's already enabled, all future changes to sig should be shown in all posts that had sig enabled.
Interesting. -
I hear ya and agree, Sarrate.
And looky! I got it workin by using the [img] tag. Thanks, Obsidius! -
Quote:Well crud. Used the BB [img] tag and it shows up in preview but not in my posts even after saving?I wouldn't be laughing so hard if it wasn't true.
I wish a could remember which great soul made my signature picture, but I can't, and I've never had the pleasure of being able to use it.
I was rather looking forward to it.
Anyway, http://pages.suddenlink.net/dmweb/billz.jpg is it. Simple. Small. Only 500X75 and 13KB. Gives me invalid URL when I attempt to use it.
EDIT: ah HA... new post it shows on. Woot. -

Freedom of expression still means painting the walls of their cave with their own fecal matter to too many people.

Growl... can't get this handy signature image to work. It's under the size limit but I keep getting invalid URL when I try tha, and straight upload also fails.
Heh... forum title is still wrong. Had they reset them all, I'd be cuppa incarnate. As it is, I just lost the extra stuff.
