Quote:Considering that squishies can solo giant monsters where melee sets can't, you might want to check the tinfoil hat at the door.
I am not sure that there is AT preferential treatment, but if I interpret the information correctly from other posters, it appears to be the case.

Welcome and gratz on the new persona. Do you mind direct PMs containing AE/MA bugs?

The intent is very clear and admirable. The goal is hopeless.

I'll continue being rude when I feel rudeness is called for. I'll continue being kind and helpful when I feel kindness is called for.
One day I may cross the line a little too far and the mods will say, "Time for a forum break, Bill." I won't be angered by this action, because every time I've been modsmacked I've been able to look at the post in questions and agree that it went against the forum rules, warrented or not.
So while I completely understand the OP's wish for everyone to be civil and kind and thoughtful with each other, I also understand that it won't happen.
The best we can do is note which individuals bring nothing but BS to the forums and do our part to get rid of them.
Bannings do occur around here. The notify mod button is there for a reason. Use it. -

I can tell you what my solution is:
Dual builds. One AoE based for farming, the other ST based for AVs/Pylons/etc -
It used to be THE power, after confront, to skip for me.
However, since the radius on it was bumped from 5' to 7', and since its damage was buffed by the claws cast time/damage tweak, I'm having to seriously reconsider it.
If you have to choose between shockwave and eviscerate, I would go with SW because you're SR and the mitigation helps a lot.
If you feel that you don't need the mitigation at all, and want a heavy hitting AoE chain that doesn't knock your enemies all over the place, you will dish out heavy damage with fu, spin, eviscerate, repeat. -
That explains it. Thanks. No clue on Subdue either.
-
Strike is a better attack in ALL chains than Swipe. Swipe is sexier. If having a smooth chain is more important than max DPS, swipe is the way to go. If DPS is your only concern, strike wins without a doubt. (In the thread you're talking about, I was using the wrong value for swipe's damage.)
The best single target attack chain is Followup, Slash, Focus, repeat. But you need an obscene amount of global recharge to get followup down that low. 313%.
Even BrandX's chain of FU, Slash, Focus, Slash would mean you need 264% total recharge in slash. That's still on the insane side of things.
For a reasonable amount of recharge, you can go FU, Slash, Focus, Strike, repeat. For that you need a total of 184% recharge in FU.
What's the best aoe chain? I don't know. But I'm quite happy with FU, Spin, Shockwave, repeat against +4s since it just knocks them down instead of back. You could also do FU, Eviscerate, Spin, repeat without too much hassle at all. -
I found the issue. It's the damn pets. And blind. An subdue?
Subdue is type ranged/psi, yet DRM had a 50% chance to hit me with it when there's no defense debuff on me?
Blind stacks up.
But it's the pets with their constant 41.something% chance to hit all the time.
Dark Servant with tenebrous tentacles: 41.74
Dark Servant with twilight grasp: 41.82
Phantasm Power Bolt: 41.82
Seneshal spit fire, if it lands, calls up burn which also has a 41% chance with each tick.
What's going on there? -
Good. Then help us get package, gut and butt sliders.

Actually, my position is that we should be allowed full nudity both in game and in real life for everyone. But I'm obviously insane.

I've seen those studies and flatly agree. However, the question wasn't one of degree, but of absolutes:

So you're saying that women, straight women that is, are not in any way sexually aroused by the size of a man's ***** in the same way that men, again straight men, are aroused by the size of breasts?

I've got a support ticket in now. There's 7 months between my 51 and 54 month vet rewards but I'm pretty sure I didn't take a 4 month break.

Oh and can we make Elude a toggle again??? -
Yea! The only equivalent to the chest slider would be a bank account!
/sarcasm off. -
Quote:The performance on my SR scrapper is where it is because of his power buff accolades and setIO buffed HP and regen on TOP of the softcapped defense.
Sure, the Tanker is soft capped with only SOs, but what do you do with the IOs then?
Since a tank won't have to put in near the effort to get softcapped, it will be able to work on even MORE HP, Regen and Damage.
My scrapper has about a 40% buff to base hitpoints right now.
If a tank gets the same amount, he'll be sitting at 2624 HP.
If I regen at 27HP/sec, the tank will be regening at 37.5HP/sec.
The PSDR will be kicking in at 1575 HP for the tank.
But that's with my scrapper's current IO slotting. Since the tank won't have to be working nearly as hard to hit the softcap, it will be able to crank those HP and regen levels higher.
I wouldn't be worried about end game SR tanking anymore than I would be about other tanking sets. It's going to be better than some and worse than others. -
Quote:There's a thread talking about the gross disparity between SetIO defense and dam-res buffs.Meh, if it's OP on scrappers after being boosted to scrapper-appropriate damage, then it was already OP on tankers and brutes. Which is a case I'm not going to argue either way, SD seems awfully uber to me, compared to what my fire/fire tanker gets in the other "give up survivability, gain damage" armor set.
That would explain the why SD gets uber and FA gets left in the dirt. Well... that and nerfed burn. -
Quote:Noooo, SR only sucks until SOs. That's level 22. And that's if you didn't have a boatload of low level IOs sitting in your group enhancements bins with a level by level plot to crank up at least melee defense as high and as early as possible.Unless I misinterpret what you are saying, your argument is, "Super Reflexes doesn't need to be changed for Tankers, because it would suck so badly no one would ever consider it overpowered." Current?
That was exactly what I was saying. I can see that you would probably think the devs would be likely to just release an underpowered Set as it is. I am probably giving them too much credit in thinking they wouldn't, or maybe suggesting what they might do.
SR on a tank after SOs, *I* feel, would be comparable to the other tanker sets in exactly the same way that SR on a scrapper with SOs is comparable to the other scrapper mitigation sets.
You're still going to have crap damage output which will mean fights take that much longer which means that there's more chances for the RNG to say, "Today is not your day."
However, I am willing to listen to discussions on the topic. -
I'm still forced to disagree. SR's shortcomings are going to be drastically exacerbated on a tank due to the amount of aggro that tank will be drawing in, especially when the tank version will have the same taunt aura on evasion that the brute will.
Getting missed a lot rocks... until you stop getting missed.
And, as mentioned, you're still talking about a tank that will have worse than paper thin mitigation for 21 levels.
