  1. SR is better on a brute than it is on a scrapper for two reasons:

    1: Higher base hitpoints mean that you get more leverage out of the passive scaling damage resistance.

    2: Evasion gets a taunt aura.

    Whether these two items make any difference in PvP, I don't know. Everyone tells me SR is gimped in PvP now, but I seem to be doing fine with my claws/sr scrapper. Granted, claws has KB and I'm IOed to the gills. I do not have elude or aid self.
  2. I do agree that it *should* be done, but having a general idea of the workload involved throws it at the back of things I'd like to see fixed around here.

    It was very nice to have the baked in redraw times removed from the sets that have been worked on so far. Claws, DB (which never had the baked in redraw,) and mace I know have been done. Not sure about broadsword and axe.

    That's not to say I agree with Castle's claws damage tweak (I don't... at all) but the set certainly felt smoother after the rework.

    Were you aware that a new animation would have to be created for each for each weapon set?

    Let's start with boxing. It will need a new animation for each weapon set in the game.

    Claws, dual blades, broadsword, ninja sword, katana, axe, mace, VEAT assault gun, VEAT mace, VEAT crab, VEAT claws, mastermind assault gun, archery, mastermind archery... think that's it.

    Call it 14 weapon sets.

    So that's 14 new animations just for boxing.

    Now let's add the rest of the power pool attacks. Boxing, kick, flurry, air superiority and jump kick.

    Up to 70 new animations.

    But you wanted grenades and the like as well. There's a whole hell of a lot of different "thrown" attacks in the game. Let's pick 10 randomly from our backside.

    15 attacks times 14 weapon sets: 210 new individual animations.

    How long do you think it would take a couple animators to pull that off, get it into an internal test build, QA the changes, etc?

    EDIT: I forgot body types, Aett. 630 animations.

    3000/5/365.25 = buck fifty a day

    That's pretty cheap entertainment.

    I don't disagree with that point, but considering how ridiculously easy it is to hit 50 and unlock the EATs these days, (took me 100 hours to solo my last brute to 50 using normal content and paper missions) I rather doubt that the devs would add an AT that we can already mimic with existing powersets.
  6. I'm not seeing how the EATs don't fit this description already. My SoA uses a hunstman build without any melee attacks. By the time she's done, she'll be 100% offensively ranged and sitting at the softcap to at least ranged with mez protection.

    How is that not a blast/mitigation AT?

  10. I'm still on the fence with my main scrapper. On the one hand, going evil is more than natural for him. And he'd keep all his badges. On the other hand, he'd be even better as a brute being claws/sr. Tough call, that.

    Well... mostly. Part of the missing population consists of the few folks left in my SG/VGs. I can't get into my own groups without logging on my brother's account to do the invites.
  14. I think "no signs of waning" is a bit overstated. For several months now, I've not seen Pinnacle's pop hit 1000. That's considering both sides. Granted, I have no idea what percentage of players run around hidden from searches like I always do.

    But I do know it's been damn quiet in every zone. All the time.

    I would hate to be a new player right now.

    EDIT: Just logged in. 89 matches found blueside. 2 to 1 ratio has been mostly true forever. That means ~45 redside.

    6PM on a night before many are off for 5 days. And Pinn's got less than 150 players not hidden.

  16. I just heard something that caused me to wonder if anyone was actually quitting over not getting a badge for continuous payment during X amount of time because they didn't follow the rules for getting the badge.

    Now I know that it is happening.

    I am truly astounded by this fact even though I know I shouldn't be.
  17. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, please, but I think it's "Pinn Badges" now and you don't need an invite, but you will need a channel mod to unsilence you once you've joined.

    My SR doesn't use aid self and I've soloed all the Phalanx TFs, pylons and the RWZ challenge are part of my meditation routine, and PvP I seem to be doing just fine. (Odd, that last one. Everyone tells me SR is still gimp in PvP.)

    Only reason I failed to solo the ITF was due to the autohit fluffy in the last mission. (And I was told how to deal with that.)

    With MA's mitigation, I fail to see why MA/SR would be much different.

    Oh yea... I don't have elude either.

    I honestly think CoH is one of the more popular mmos out there. Yeah theres LOTRO and WoW, but I don't know many people that have left to those games and stayed over there. They all usually come back. We will probably see a lot more people when the new update comes out, level cap or not.
    It's not just an opinion. The devs have laid out all the problems that would occur with raising the level cap. It's not going to happen.

    To the OP, Pinn redside is dead. Fine for me because I solo most of the time, but I always feel bad when I see broadcasts for folks looking for teams and never getting a reply.

  23. No reason another AT down the road won't allow for ranged damage/mitigation powersets.

    Yank the mez protection, lower the scale below scrapper/brute, call it a day.
