Howdy. I want Dark Blast for a blaster. Yea, the damage isn't fantastic, but all those tohit debuffs make for some very safe play to balance that out.
But to follow the theme, we're going to need a dark mastery secondary.
So here's my take on it.
Dark Blast doesn't need any changes. Port that sucker as is. Yes, some folks will whine about the lack of Aim, but DP and AR don't have it either, so meh, no need. We can keep skipping Dark Pit like we do now.
But new animations take time! New powersets involve work! Ok... let's use nothing but existing powers. Can we do so and keep the set in line with other blaster secondaries? Yes, we can.
Tier 1: Gravimetric Snare (Rename to Dusk)
Tier 2: Shadow Punch
Tier 3: Smite
Tier 4: Death Shroud
Tier 5: Build Up *Or Soul Drain as per Carnifax's post*
Tier 6: Dark Consumption
Tier 7: Tar Patch (Reduce radius)
Tier 8: Oppressive Gloom
Tier 9: Midnight Grasp
Thoughts? Problems? I can have dark blast now please? -

I thank them each month by not turning off automatic billing. And sometimes I send a PM when something particularly cool gets accomplished.

I don't think anyone knows where that line is.
My main is an obvious ripoff of a mythological character, but no one has ever tried to get me genericed that I'm aware of.
I see nothing wrong with your Xerxes nor the blaster Diana. -

though one could argue we don't really have PvP anymore -

I'm partial to ninja run + swift + quickness + sprint.

My wife and son can't handle the AC being put much lower than 77F. My office is on the 2nd floor, north side, and when I'm in it I've got two full sized towers cranking out the heat.
I'm going to do my damndest to get a single story home this summer. I often feel very sorry for my rigs and the environment they are forced to function in. -

On a related note, I recall one man whose GPU heatsink got so hot that it partially melted; the fan was actually dangling off the graphics card, held on only by the little power cable. -
MM, I'm betting your video card is on its way out. How old is the card? When was the last time you physically held the fan on it still while blowing it and its heatsink out with compressed air?
Based on the screenshot and your statement "It's gotten progressively worse and today its pretty much impossible to stay on more than a few minutes" I'm betting fried memory chip on video card or dying GPU. -
Quote:Hi there. My main is a claws/sr scrapper. The only difference brute side is that you'll have higher base hitpoints and evasion on a brute gets a taunt aura. I won't sugar coat this: SR sucks until SOs. However, claws rocks from level 1 all the way to 50, so you can get to 22 without too much pain as long as you don't push your difficulty up. I'd advise +0/x2 until 12 and then either +1/x2 or +0/x3-4 until 22. Anything higher will lead to frustration. Thanks for your responses. Right now I'm leaning towards /SR and /WP. Which of these do you think has the advantage in survivability while solo? Would /SR need Weave?
I also have a claws/wp brute in the mid 20s. He's a blender. Has been since level 1. This is because WP scales up the levels beautifully the whole way. There's no "I suck" and then magically "I no longer suck" as with SR.
But in the end, for AV soloing and general survivability in the end game, I'd probably lean toward claws/sr. Why? End drains and mez. I was running around last night on my DM/WP lvl 50 brute and was amazed at just how bad groups like malta and carnies can tear him up. Granted, he's not purpled out like my claws/sr, but the SR just doesn't get hit by nearly as much and therefore has to deal with much less incoming garbage.
Oh... does SR *need* weave? You can softcap without it, but it's easier with it. And tough stacks very well for S/L on the passive scaling dam-res in the passives AND gives you a place for the steadfast +3% defense unique. Yes, it's total BS that we have to waste a power pick on boxing or kick, but that's the way the game is set up and there's no way around it. -
I'll care when I get an alpha invite. Until then: vaporware.

I put 5 bids at 200 million each for 5 pieces of Hecatomb. I left those bids on the market for over two weeks.
None were purchased. I'm a convert. Redside market is a colossal failure. I will be forced to farm like mad in order to afford rebuilding my main villain in a way that will suit me. At current rates, I'm looking at a 10 billion inf build. -

Deflection Shield is a weird thing. Good thing IOs exist for frakenslotting.
But yea, 3dr/3def in deflection shield, 3heal/3dr in truegrit will be the way to go. 1end/3def in battle agility.
The thing that REALLY puts me off about shields is that most of the defense debuff resistance comes from the mez protection click, and to get capped DDR, you have to double stack your mez protection. Which hurts DPS.
On the other hand, SD's AAO means that your damage output goes through the farking roof. -
Is -1/x4 with bosses too much for a defense build at level 12? Maybe. If you were SS/WP I'd say no.
You might consider slotting True Grit for heals instead of dam-res. You're not getting any S/L dam-res from that. Only elemental. It's Deflection that gives the S/L dam-res.
I bet if you make that one change, you'll notice a difference. -
Quote:I slot TOs. At level 5 through 12. At level 12 I ALWAYS fully slot out DOs.
4. Slot some DOs. Sure, it sounds stupid but if you are having this much trouble then slot some END RDX DOs into your attacks and so forth
Why would anyone self-gimp by not doing so? I guess I could see it if you team all the time, but for soloing? What's the point? -
Ok. I see the problem.
Don't herd. Don't try to let the enemies build your fury for you. Do that with your attack chain running spawn to spawn.
Bind sprint to some key. I use G. Once a spawn is down, I hit G, run to the next spawn, hit F for Follow, hit G to turn off sprint when I'm close enough to attack, go into my attack chain.
At 12, you should be fighting with brawl, punch, jab and haymaker for fury building.
Sands of Mu is a great filler and yes, awesome when you've got some enemies lined up for it. All attacks, including the staff and wand, help build fury. However, those temp powers are not Affected by fury.
If you are slotting damage in your attacks, don't. At 12 you should have acc/end-red/rec-rec. A single Damage DO adds 17% or so. Fury can be adding 180%+.
If you took handclap, I'd respec out of it now. Fury backed KOBlow will be one shotting stuff left and right. Same rule applies, though. Acc/rec-red/end-red.
Don't slot damage. -
You're doing it wrong.
SS is easy mode. Shields, SR and EA aren't great until SOs because they are defense based, but unless you've cranked your difficulty up, your damage output is so high thanks to fury that it doesn't really matter.
Are you using brawl whenever it's up? How are you slotted?
There is not a brute combination that can't solo with complete ease. Except perhaps stone armor. It sucks due to the -movement.
Anything else is a cakewalk. -
Quote:Yup. Please note brute and scrapper energy take the 2nd and 3rd spots respectively.Actually, I think he posted the wrong link. Here is the same test, without Gloom into the mix.
EM's ST damage output is still solid. No one can deny that. It's aoe output still sucks. Also undeniable.
I still hate the new EM animation. I hated watching enemies die from teammate damage during the animation. I hated being rooted for over 3 seconds from two attacks. Two attacks that are necessary to attain that high ST damage output. That was part of the reason that my em/fa main villain was remade after hitting 50 and getting all the power buff accolades.
He just wasn't worth keeping with those two sets.
