The giant places the photo back in his pocket, and stands, still not looking to the woman, "Thank you for your time and cooperation."
He side steps carefully out of the pew, turns, and leaves. -
The large man continues to look font to the altar. His voice is low and heavy as he addresses the young holy woman to his side. "I'm looking for a man who fights in the name of god, i have business to discuss... I was told i may find him here... or at least a member of you diocese would be able to put me in contact with him"
Reaching into his shirt's breast pocket, he produces a photo of the masked priest and holds it out at arms length towards the nun. -

Moth Cathedral, Sunday, 26 of August, 12:52 pm
The sound of heavy footsteps pierce the quiet of Sunday mass in Moth cathedral, echoing over the voice of the preacher, as the gigantic figure makes his way to an empty pew, and sits down, the wood creaking uneasily beneath him. -
for those that don't know, there's been a bit of planning for an IC run of the lady grey TF from the tail end of the council of war.
Now, this is NOT a signup thread. Only way you'd get in this is personal recommendation from a key member IC. so don't get pissy if your shouts of "me me me!" go ignored.
(I hear "Ultranova"/"twilight shinobi" is organising a big mothership raid, so go ask him for details if you want to be involved with something.)
seeings as i've managed to lose track of who's confirmed to be in this, i think its best its moved out of PMs to somewhere we can organise a time.
so far we have:
1: Big Lunk (confirmed)
2: Doctor helios (confirmed)
3: Britannic (confirmed)
4: Coile (confirmed, i think)
5: Powerstone (confirmed)
6: Zortel (confirmed OOC)
7: <space currently reserved for "nightschild" when i manage to contact him IC>
8: <space reserved for pious>
so who can do what days? does anyone have IC connections to Nightschild? and any suggestions for the final spot?
personally, i can do any time, except next Friday through to Saturday morning, as im out of town, and if i decided to try and run a TF on Sam's old laptop, it'd probably kill it -

Althought not with poker... but I've played out blackjack.
One time was with an actual set of cards I laid out at home and told others what they got...

I agree with this. Exactly how i would do it. Have a set dealer/Gm dealing out of game.
It actually something people have been badgering to set up for Evil for a while (mostly put off because having to explain the rules of poker to people), so let me know how it goes
I was also asked to set up a D&D night for EVIL as a laugh, but i just couldnt get to work it in IC XD -

lol! omg, killer whale is still around! that guy kicks [censored]. the best 'big dumb tank' character around.
know what the worst bit about this wiki is for me? with 3 years of played history, and Christ knows how many years of family history, its taking me forever to finish lunk's page.
1 year to go, i think XD -
is there a nationality catagory, or have i just missed it?
and if not, can i nominate it for being added? :P -

Nah, too easy. there's no sport shooting fish in barrels
anyone know if its possible to use 2 power level boxes on 1 profile, for those who have sliding scale/Duel power levels? -
Lunk looks around at the apparent silence "... in all fairness, i was hoping for a little more enthusiasm. I shall arrange among my people details for an assault, and let those who interested know how they can assist... as for the proposed memorial vigil at the hero corps building... i suppose the hastiness that some of us had to lower the treaty suggests that's a bad idea. I was hoping as we thought together, we may remember our fallen together... now is there anything anyone would like to bring to the table, or shall we call this to an end?"
he looks purposefully at Coile. It was at his suggestion the council reconvened, and Lunk had some hope it was for a reason greater than to publicly announce his return to business as usual. -
Lunk chuckles to himself "Well, I'm glad to see your support for removing my workers from the streets, gentlemen. And although the treaty is not in effect unless the Rikti strike again, do not consider that those who broke its terms will not be punished retroactively... but lets not dwell on this matter. All those in favour of a counter strike to help destabilise their military elite, and possibly buy us time before their next offensive, say 'Aye'"

Its important to be realistic and accurate otherwise scaling characters becomes pointless; some of the most powerful metahumans and aliens are ranked at Unearthly magnitude so I'm not expecting to see 10/10 here (besides, how dull is that; a character with nowhere to progress to). So far I've had to 'adjust' six attribute boxes (that were apparently Gods) according to what their profile more accurately indicates.

kinda why i choose not to use it. when it comes to power scaling, some people have some pretty... strange ideas about realism.
a good example was when me and synthet (another EVIL director) actually sat down, and tried to work out rough hard numbers for strengths of a couple of chars at the top end of EVIL's power spectrum, based on a brag made by one member on the heaviest thing they lifted. The basic end of it was that Laugh Riot, who is considered EVIL's brute strength powerhouse, i actually less physically strong thank Lunk at his base strength, but his scales higher, where as Lunk's does not. All these numbers where kept bellow 100 tonne, which is the base strength of the hulk (when not severely [censored] off) so in comic book terms, believable.
then add person 3 to this conversation.
"well, charectorx would be somewhere between lunk and riot at his peek"
"okay, around 80-90 tonne then"
"yeah.... and heaviest thing he lifted was an aircraft carrier"
(if anyone wants to hazard a guess at how much an aircraft carrier weighs.... well, its over 10000 tonne)
Cue face palming and shaking of the heads
truth is, when you add a measurable factor into something, its bound to get people confused -
"Then we attack military installations. Just because they carpet bomb us, does not mean we have to retaliate in the same way. A tactical strike to their core military administration will help slow any further offensives. We are not advocating the killing of innocents and children, Miss Zorrielle, we are talking about a precise strike to the core of their armed forces."

just got the basic's of Lunk's bio page up

Once again, excellent work, the pair of you. The Tutorials are easy to get around, and well written -
"The invasion is over. The war is just beginning. They've made the mistake of starting something that we're going to finish. Strike while the iron is hot."
-
Lunk shoots a knowing grin towards Twilight Shinobi, as he pulls a newspaper from his pocket and salutes him with it, before putting it on the table.
"...shall we get started? Firstly, I would like to say congratulations... to all of us...and to all those that helped push back the Rikti threat. Secondly, I would like to suggest holding a memorial on the 18th outside the hero corps building for those lost in the attacks. Thirdly, as of today, EVIL has recommenced business. The treaty should be considered inactive due to the removal of the Rikti menace, and I would like to apologise in advance for any of those who may get caught up in one of our contracts."
He smiles broadly and chuckles to himself, before his face returns businesslike "it should also be noted that although the treaty is no longer valid, there are reports of those among us that violated it whilst it was still active. You WILL pay for this, as was set out in the agreement, even if I have to front bounties myself" -
well done you guys, [censored] ace!
Have a cookie! -
Lunk sits at the far side of the room, as he had done at the previous meetings, pondering the last few days.
It had been a while since the last bombing run, and the general consensus was the invasion was over, if not the war. The Rikti assaults had been beaten back mercilessly.
He missed the fighting, war was what he was born for, and he couldn't help but think that the war, or at least his blood-lust, helped cushion the blow of Echo's news.
He cracks a smile thinking about how quickly Rebecca used the situation to lay her cards on the table.
Now the invasion was over, it was time to clean up the debris, deal with those that hindered the alliance, see where treaties still stand now with the common foe removed, and prepare a retaliation. -
[conversation between 2 pocket D patrons]
"damn... i just learnt a real important lesson"
"whats that?"
"Dont drink from unattended bottles you find at bars"
"hahah! let me guess, cigarette ends?"
"nah, there was this ring in the bottom of a bottle of scotch... [censored] nearly chocked to death" -
Lunk stands without saying anything, and trudges out the door, his head hanging low.
-
that would be the thing we talked about updating, improving and making easier to use last time, yes.
-
I approve of this idea.
<stamps>
i think it will be fun, and useful, and we defiantly have the numbers to make it popular and keep it alive.
And it will help many of the newbie RPers, or those wanting to find about the CoX RP community. -
Lunk grins deviously, his eyes heavy. "Monkey... mind... bombs"
-
Lunk holds his hand up in dismissal, with his head hanging forward and to one side "I'm fine..."
-
Lunk trudges in as Zorielle speaks, and slumps into an empty seat.
His armour gone, his hair down and a mess, and his clothing torn.
