So has anything been done to the way Jack in Irons spawns in the 20+ zones ? IE is it still a 10% chance he will spawn per Eochai defeat ? One of the biggest complaints each year is that Jack just doesn't like showing his head, personally i've defeated 30+ Eochai in Brickstown to finally get a Jack to spawn ... others have reported even higher numbers ... So, with that said ... has this been changed ?
And YAY halloween salvage ... -
Yay ... more names to play Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon with ....

Quote:Pretty much sums up everything I have to say ... oh and ...Thing is, I could understand if Avatea or Ocho came into the discussion and said they'd simply run out of time with GR being worked on so heavily and thus didnt have much of a booster for August as promised.
I could understand if Avatea or Ocho came into the discussion and said they'd had numerous request for smaller 'Niche' boosters and this would be but the 1st of many.
I could understand if Avatea or Ocho came into the discussion and said the company was exploring the possibility of going to a more micro-trans F2P model.
I could understand and accept nearly anything our community reps told us concerning all this negative feedback.
*Crickets*
It's almost like we scared them into holes or something...
Acknowledge us. Even if it's not something we want to hear! This has been one of the foundations of this community for 6 years, great communication between the players and reps/devs.
This, above all else, is what concerns me the most. Honestly.
I'm with the original poster above who stated rename this to Announcement if you no longer plan to participate, to show us your side of things. Instead of flat out ignoring us and throwing a party.
The silence from our community representatives is hurting more than the cost, or the content, at this point.
I'll pass on purchasing it. I get between 4 and 8 emotes (usually a couple of normal emotes, and a couple of costume change emotes) with the super boosters, 2 costume sets usually, and a temp power, for $2 more ....
You could've had my money if you had made it worth the $8. -
Option 1.
I would rather have higher resolution models made, aswell as higher resolution textures created for those new high resolution models, and have them replace the old ones. By keeping the costume options that use lower polygon counts just show the age of the game. Yes that might ruin people's concepts, but concepts evolve, and don't NEED to remain exactly like it was in Issue 1. Some people will get upset, but I am sure they will get over it. -
My builds arent going to change, all I am going to do is take concealment where fitness would've been and not slot them, as usable powers when absoltely needed, but more so for mule powers to slot LOTG 7.5s.

** Any reference to Siphon Power in this post is in relation to Kinetic Melee, unless otherwise specified **
I know how to replicate this bug with ease on a Kinetic Melee toon ... Pop your inspirations (doesn't matter what ones, as long as they have a duration), hit Siphon Power straight after, and then hit 4 to 7 enemies. Within about 5 seconds of the last hit, your inspirations will drop off well before its intended duration.
I have confirmed this through the attribute monitor aswell, so they are definitely being removed for whatever reason. -
Badge-Hunter, because it's always upto date :P

So who's actually in this picture ? The only one I recognise (besides Apex) is Xanatos from Virtue in the top right (blue/yellow ice/ice blaster ... and my inspiration for originally getting City of Heroes) ...

Dear whoever it concerns,
The hero files say they are corrupt when I download and open them in Photoshop CS3 (although they open anyway). The hazard zone image also says it is incompatible with my version of photoshop, and villain files load just fine ... What gives ? -
Favourite badge .... Big Time exploration badge ... fits with my character ...
Biggest pain ? Day Jobs ... such stupid badges ... if I wasn't OCD about getting them I wouldn't really care :P -
Well ... actually its 900 exactly ...
My badge count that is ...

1st on Champ :P -
I've got plans for a heroic Elec/Fire/Mu Brute, Elec Control/something (probably kin or rad) Controller, Demon Summoner/something MM, and a Kinetic Melee/something Scrapper ... Except the brute, all will be alternate versions of BigMoneyHustla on other servers.
And turning BMH to the dark side ... Gots to get me them badges *scratches badge sores while eye twitches* -
Quote:I just need to learn to read better ...You guys must be reading a different release to me. I read it as the Alpha slot didn't stand on it's own as well as hoped and really needs the other levels to work so they are waiting to release it closer to I19 so that players don't feel like they wasted their time.
I swear I saw something about changing the Alpha Slot ... maybe that's what I wanted to read when I saw it was being taken out of Going Rogue.
That does make more sense to give it to us when the system as a whole is close to being released rather than a taste now, and the rest in 5 months. -
Quote:So, the plan and development of the current system isn't shelved because they are going to continue working on it ? Apparently we have different definitions ... to each their own ...If the current system is getting worked on some more, it won't be the current system but it won't be shelved. How hard is this to grasp?
Quote:You'll probably find out at the same time everyone else does, in i19 open beta.
I want to know about the dev's thoughts on the other 9/10ths of the current system they are taking out ... why they have been so quick to remove it when the rest of the system wont be tested for another 4-5 months in relation to the 1st/10th.
Quote:/snip
That last point was something that we got great feedback on in the GR Closed Beta. Even though it was just a sneak peak, the Alpha Slot doesnt benefit the player in a way that we had envisioned it would. Because of this feedback we have decided to act sooner rather than later.
Since Alpha Slot Incarnate Abilities do not exemplar down (and we're not changing that), we find that players end up with Power that has limited use. We recognize that the Alpha Slot experience is something that a lot of you are eagerly awaiting for and we want to make sure that it is awesome, and most of all fun, when we bring the system on-line.
/snip
We want to thank everyone who tested and gave their feedback on the Alpha Slot, the drop rates, the costs, and especially how they see the Abilities interacting with their builds, math-wise. Your testing has been invaluable and we have learned a great deal in a short time thanks to you. We now feel that the Alpha Slot and Incarnate Abilities will have a much higher impact when they are ready to be rolled out.
/snip
You said about the power not exemplaring down ... you mean like every other power you don't have use of when you exemplar below it's level ? I could completely understand not having access to that power (we get new powers ?) when you exemplar down, you lower your power level, that is why you can't use it.
What about the other 9 slots in relation to the Alpha Slot, math wise ? -
Quote:If it's not the same system as it is now, then the current system IS shelved.Theyr'e not shelving it at all - they're going to continue working on it, but without the pressure of an August 17th deadline.
Regardless, I still wanna know the dev's thoughts on the other 9/10ths of the Incarnate system in relation to the 1st/10th. -
So .... let me get this straight ...
You're shelving a whole system based on what people are saying about seeing 1/10th of it ?
How do the other 9/10ths affect the 1st/10th ??
I want to know whether testers are only seeing mediocre results because they aren't experiencing/can't experience the full incarnate system yet. -
Blah, I told everyone about the Bacon Explosion a couple of years ago ... And you call yourselves bacon lovers? You all should be ashamed that you don't have that site memorised ... It is the holy grail of all things pork.

Quote:Let's play the hypothetical game ....... *bangs head against one of these*
- A: There is no discrepancy
- B: There is no Retcon
What Emperor Cole and his Main Followers present themselves as is not their "true selfs." Those of us who have played through the Maria Jenkins and Tina McIntyre Arcs have encountered the "real" persona's of the Praetorian Powers.
The Going Rogue Webpage is an INTENTIONAL MIND-BENDER designed to screw around with new players who are unfamiliar with the history of the Praetorian encounters with the Primal Earth Heroes. That's why the updates are such a big deal. We are seeing the story the Loyalists are told, while already knowing the truth the Resistance is trying to tell to the rest of the Praetorians.
If you have lived your life knowing your parents are your biological parents ... then all of a sudden ... say when you are 22-23 ... someone comes up to you and tells you that you are adopted, and your parents aren't your real parents, do you believe them ?
If you have absolutely NO WAY to tell which is true, and which is false, what do you believe ?
Praetoria is exactly the same. What we 'know' from doing the Praetorian arc on CoH makes Praetoria seem like a mean and savage place and that Tyrant is evil ... Cole however makes it sound like a paradise, the background stories prove that it is, and Cole and his Praetorian Guard have never done anything but good for humanity. But which is true ? and if you think you KNOW which one is true, prove it ...
You can't ... just because the website says differently than the in-game arcs, doesn't mean that the site is the intentional mind bender ... maybe it is the story arcs that are the mind benders, and we're only just getting the truth!
Think about that ... -
Hrmmm ... favourite memory ... Reading the stories posted on the Crey Industries website about the hero Xanatos. It was the way he told his stories. I just wanted to live the stories he told with my own character.
That is probably my favourite memory of City of Heroes. -
Unless this was fixed, Pentad Victor doesn't require one of each AT on each team, just requires one of the same AT on each team. I'm not sure of the settings, i'll have to check it out and get back to you.

I understand where you're coming from CA, and your suggestions are good.
The problem lies with how the incarnate system will actually work. Are we actually getting new powers and slots for them ? Are we getting global slots that can be slotted with global enhancements that affect all powers that was mentioned in the survey from a few years ago ? Are we getting special enhancements to slot into powers that can effect attributes of powers that weren't modifiable before (eg a taunt target increase) ?
Unfortunately, only the Dev's know how the system works at this stage, and while your suggestions are great, we don't have any information to start making suggestions on how the incarnate should work as opposed to how it is currently being made to work.
