20mil inf!???????
I think I'll stick to tips!
Thanks for the info! -
Hey guys, I just found out this morning that you can convert reward merits and inf into hero merits (or villain merits.)
I was just wondering what the charges in inf and reward merits is? -
Ok its been a slow burner, but, my tank is about 40% kitted out with Set IO's, got some lovely bonuses now.
I am now soloing most of my missions on +0 x5, as long as there is nothing there to sap endurance, or hit me with psychics, winning said fight is just a matter of time. -
Pure fire tanks are probably the most damaging tanks going. But Willpower is a great tanking set all round really.
Soloing an arch villain would be tough on any tank IMHO, but if its out and out servings of pain you want with a non-fire tank, then might I suggest Shield / SS for that? Rage in SS combined with against all odds will really help you put out some smackdown. And the defences of Shield should be better than fire. -
Quote:If you wait and just play play play and more play, you can have it. Without the need to pay a thing for the recipe. Just use the merits. Its a bit of a wait, but its worth it.Sadly, I am not using the IO/Recipe for the intended purpose of PvP. And the going rate on forums has been 2.5 Bill.
I am using it for the set bonus of 3% defense for a Super Reflex. I have her IO'd already for everything but that last Gladiator's.
Putting her Defense @ 54% Ranged, 51% Melee, 49.7% AOE, and 15-20% on the rest on defense side. (Mids Build) (with 15% resist on most of the resist side)
Save your inf. Unless you can afford a couple of billion to get it at a "knockdown" price -
My elec / mace tank, she does the "Grrrrrrr" noise, which sounds like... somebody putting up a valiant struggle against constipation to be perfectly honest.
The Invul / Elec melee Im toying with, she does the "ha ha" which is fine.
The Invul / SS the main guy, he goes "Hurrrr" instead of "ha ha"
I literally dread taunting when Im on my elec / mace tank. Its an embarassing noise

Quote:My advice, tips.@Goddess Toons in game global.
Need 1 Gladiator's Armour 3% lvl 50 recipe/IO
Lots and lots of "Tippy Tips" as I like to call em. You're probably looking at a fair while before you get it though as they cost 25 alignment merits each which is well steep.
You can get maybe, 3 or 4 merits a week. so you're probably looking at 8 weeks of game play... BUT... at least you'll save a few hundred million in rip off prices on the AH, or alternatively, jump into some PvP.
Im getting all my recipes the hard way now, reward merits, hero merits, it gonna be a long slog, but, it'll be worth it to save my money. -
Certainly, I am no expert but, looking at your build All the way up till Level 22 the only attack you have is jab.
Unless you got the other sort of veterany type powers, if not, that means all you're gonna have are brawl and jab, both of which couldn't really pop a spit bubble. lol
Also 3 slots in fly, I have been told by various people on here that fly needs only the one slot it comes with when you choose the power, and its capped full speed?? not sure on that one though.
Also I'd highly recommend hurl, its one of the only ranged attacks in the tanking secondaries, and if for example you find yourself taking on knives of artemis stood on a load of caltrops, while sure you can hover up out of the way, you got nothing to hit that distant one who may be pumelling your teammate. I guess you could taunt though, but well.
I'd probably want a few more SS attacks if its me. -
At the moment I do have a final build in mind, and right now, even with SO's I really do feel pardon the pun, Unstoppable. The actual power unstoppable itself, it rarely gets any exercise these days.
Everybody here has given me great advice and I'd like to think my tanking is up to scratch on a team. Certainly, in all the time I've played tanks, Ive never had a complaint about my skills.
You know I have tried to follow the advice given as best I can with my limited experience and resources in game, and I think its paid dividends to me. I do want to up my Defence though to the exotic damage types as much as I can because Invulnerability's resistances to energy, negative, ice, fire and toxic is quite low. Especially compared to some of the armour powersets.
All in all though, still very much flabbergasted at the price of the recipes of the IO sets on the market. Total rip off!
But as I say, every cloud and all that... I shall EARN my recipes the hard way. Besides, I enjoy playing and if I have to grow through play... well. Win win! I save money, and I get a more uber character. -
Well this tank is now lvl 47, and Im running mishes solo at +0 x4 or 5 depending on what's in there, and I maybe have to use dull pain one in two, and unstoppable at about 1 in 5 mishes, if my mental tallying is to par.
This is just single origins.
So now, the time I feel has arrived to start putting in the Set IO's to make a start on getting an invulnerable tank that can survive most stuff that comes his way. Went to the auction house... began checking out the sets I'd need as per Call me Awesome's invulnerabilit guides, and my reaction was.......................... WTF!!!!!
The cost of those sets we are literally talking astronomical. There were recipes on there for over 10 million, each, granted, there weren't many for sale, hence the whopping big prices, but if the going rate for those recipes is 10 million, Im gonna have to put in a bid in the regions of 7 figures, of that in order to eventually win them.
I simply just cannot afford to use wentworths to get my recipes, the prices are just out and out rip off and as I don't have a character who has 2 billion odd going begging, Im a bit stuffed for that!! Soooo.... Im resorting to plan B. Merits, Architect Entertainment tickets for those random reward rolls, and maybe even a few mates might be willing to send em my way if they pick em up. Truthfully, as I have now started this very route to my Sets, I think this way when its all said and done and finished, I'll possibly, maybe, perhaps, appreciate my Invul / SS tank a lot more than somebody who just went to market and paid whatever it took to get that awesome tank. -
That'd be awesome.
Captain Planet was, Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, and Heart wasn't he.
So probably, fire aura would be the closest I'd imagine, although I'd pick Electric Armour over Fire Aura, because IMHO Electric is superior to Fire for out and out tanking (If you're like me and just using SO's for the time being), Electric Tanks when they are kitted out can be beasts though. I have one in the high 40's now and its nearly as good as my Invul / SS for out and out abuse taking in smashing and lethal thanks to tough. It can take a fire ball to the chest better than the Invul one can any day of the week. The only let down of course is Defence, you have to get that from the pool powers.
Also with Electric Armour, you never have to worry about end issues again post lvl 26, just steal the endurance from the bad guys!! And of course, there is that vulnerability to toxic.
No matter how heavy end usage your secondary is, Electric looks after them just fine! So, there is that. For the secondary, I'd go with either stone (Earth) or Fiery (Fire... naturally), heck, you even could go ice melee (water).
In the ancillary set, I'd pick anything here. So if say you go fiery melee, then go Earth mastery for example.
Sounds cool! -
The increase in damage resistance for fire, ice, toxic, energy and negative is trivial on an invulnerable tank.
Already my big guy is capped on smashing and lethal, he's hovering around 32% on the afore mentioned 5 exotic types. The thing is though, I kinda get why the resistance on the exotic types is so low on invulnerability, I mean, if it was too good, then, you'd only ever see invulnerable tanks running about wouldn't ya?
Having said that, some fire attacks combine lethal elements too them, which invulnerability can effectively neutralise totally, leaving only the fire to hurt.
Most energy attacks have got smashing in them, which again, Invulnerability can effectively neutralise.
Toxic, negative and most fire attacks though, you just take those pure, and it hurts. Though again you counteract that with Defence and using your body to deflect those harmful negative shots from hitting. So rather than look to make more resistance for the exotics, instead I'd rather use Defence for them, its easier, plus, as he's SS and footstomp pops so fast mostly the bad guys spend more time getting back up than shooting.
Swings and roundabouts peeps! -
Quote:LOL and while we're at it, lets not forget la chupacabra. Although... there may be a chance that thing exists. You forgot the worst of the vicious antipodean creatures, the drop bear. They've taken more lives than sharks, but do we ever hear about them? No, because they are too closely related to the ""cute and cuddly" koala bear, and that would then scare tourists off.

Quote:Um... meh??I think our nice weather has been hurting Australia. I think our snowy christmases has been at a the cost of hurting Australia an all. Think of them australian animals that you just can't find anywhere else in the world.
Kinda glad you can't find these animals anywhere else in the world I spared the scorpions, venomous snakes, deadly spiders (no I don't mean arachnos) and other potentially life ending critters found down under a thought. Wasn't a flattering one at that. -
Quote:And there lies the main reason I deleted my SA/SM Tanker. It shouldn't be balanced around Incarnates or Inventions, but they should be taken into account. A 65 percent global recharge reduction is plenty of a penalty for going Granite, I should think. Not to mention the vast speed debuff and the 30% damage reduction, which by the way makes a lot of sense as it's well known that coating your fists in soft, pillowy granite greatly lessens force of impact.
I can understand the debuff to accuracy, I mean encasing yourself in rock might well cause a bit of a visibility reduction, ergo might miss, even recharge times increasing. But damage decreasing? Whut!?
Why would a stone covered, superhumanly strong body hit less hard? It makes no sense.
Rooted, I get, no problem there, but well, just seems accross the board, you got too many penalties with Stone Armour. -
It'd be really good to be able to turn off the steamy effects of some of the travel powers.
Superjump for example you stand perfectly still and there is like mist coming off your hands, I mean... why?
Well to answer me own question... I guess its a good visualisation to say, you have it on. -
Hey guys, just wondering, how do you assign emotes to a macro? Basically I just want to click a macro button on my powers bar to make my character do things without having to bind them to keys?
Its for the fly poses really, as last night I tried to put the fly poses to macros but it didn't work. -
Quote:Yep I took tough.If you're a resistance-based tanker and you're NOT taking Cardiac, you're doing it wrong.
For an invulnerability tanker, Cardiac Core Paragon gives you:
+1.333% smash/lethal resist from Resist Physical Damage
+4% smash/lethal resist from Temp Invulnerability
+1.333% fire/cold from Resist Elements
+0.666% smash/lethal resist from Unyielding
+1.333% fire/cold/energy/negative/toxic resist from Unyielding
+1.333% energy/negative resist from Resist Energies
+2% smash/lethal resist from Tough (You did take tough, right?)
That's all bypassing ED, for a grand total of:
+8% smash/lethal resist
+2.666% fire/energy/cold/negative resist
+1.333% toxic resist
This is all in addition to the huge endurance discount you get, and whatever fractional improvements you get from the ED-affected bonuses you'll get as well.
I just kinda figured the numbers would be bigger is all, which accounted for my earlier scepticism. Also I kinda thought the 20% applied to your overall totals, which made me think that with the 2/3 ED bypassed I could hope for a good bit more than 2.6% resistance to exotic damage types.
True though that most energy attacks have a smashing element to them, and so do ice ones, but some dont and them that don't hurt an invul tanker when they hit but good, or can do. -
Ok so if Im understanding this correctly ladies and gents, if when I unlock it, I can get Cardiac Core Paragon, I'll get 20% resistance to my resistance powers, which factoring in 2/3 ED bybassed, should mean an additional 13 or 14% plus a bit of change, of resistance?
Which would mean with the SO build I got now, my exotic resistances shoudl from 32% to 46% which is a hell of a good hike upwards.(If I got that right)
But lets not forget the endurance reduction accross the board which on an invul / SS would be flipping handy no question I mean, it means you can keep slugging away. -
Well that is sweet, no need for slots in fly! Epic.
One other question though while I think about it, is there anyway to change your flight pose? I mean, both arms back, one leg straight one bent looks ok, but, I wouldn't mind one of them to have one arm out in front. -
Just wondering I've never done of those All _______ TF's before. Do both your primary and secondary powers have to be electrical based or would just one or t'other do to gain ingress?
-
So to summarise. Only the slot that comes with fly is required.
Cheers, guys -
Hey guys, Im about to respec another character of mine, and before I do I just wanted some insight.
Is it worth triple slotting fly when you get to lvl 50?
