hey, thanks.
i intended it to be a little confusing - reflecting the nature of several people in dialogue simultaneously. -
The backstory for Bonnot, a thugs MM in planning and member of "the Gang". constructive criticism welcomed!
Its early in the morning in a dingy kitchen, somewhere in the Kings Row district of Paragon City.
You need to get a job, Elie. We cant afford to have you living here forever without you at least covering the food you eat.
Ive tried, Mom. Theres not much to do around here, half the businesses have shut down and the other half cant afford to staff extra people.
Well you need to do something, because we cant afford to keep you any more. Youre 20 now. A man should be working. Youre grandfather had made a lot of money by your age. If youre father wasnt such a drunk, we wouldnt have these problems.
Its noon in an almost deserted alley. Four suspicious figures are hanging around a car that is far too expensive to be theirs. Smash. An elbow in a leather jacket goes through a car window.
Great! This guy left his keys!
Who does stuff like that any more?
I dunno, forget about that.
Hey, a hero! Lets get out of here!
The car screeches off.
The same four are now at a shabby dump, full of burned out cars. One of them is admiring the handiwork. An arms dealer is counting cash.
Fifty, one, one fifty, two, two fifty. Thanks kids, this ones gonna be real easy t disguise.
Need many more?
Business is drying up. Only needed the one.
Any other work?
Like I said kids, business is drying up. You need something more stable.
Thanks anyway, Victor. Call us if Octave finds anything for us.
Will do, kids.
Heres some money, Mom. Hope it helps.
Two days later, in an abandoned warehouse. A shady looking guy is talking to four amateur looking thugs.
Its a simple smash 'n' grab. We split the profits. You kids got nothing to worry about. Ive got some handguns for the job, just in case. Im gonna need these back.
I'm sticking with my lighter, thanks.
Octave, thanks a lot man. You and Max are doing us a massive favour.
More like you kids are doing us a favour. See, theres stuff there we need there. We wouldnt just be sending you in for the cash.
Guns?
Much bigger kid. Were expanding. Vic told you business was drying up. The boxes will be marked. Max cased the place a week ago and took the numbers. For a big guy he sure is smarter than we give him credit.
The thugs eye each other anxiously.
An alarm is sounding in the background. Fire spreading through what looks like a stock room. Suddenly, sirens can be heard.
Longbow! I cant believe this! Octave said we had nothing to worry about!
Calm down Elie. Well be fine. Weve got the boxes and there was plenty of cash in that safe. Did you know Jean could crack those?
What!? He kept that quiet! Agh. Run!
A short scuffle occurs and three of the thugs escape. One of them is knocked out by a pole. The Longbow agents place the leftover under arrest and hand him over to the officials at the Ziggursky correctional facility.
The next morning, Elie wakes up. He can't focus his eyes.
God, my head! What the Where am I?
This the Zig mate. Wasyername?
Uh, E- my friends call me Bonnot. They do from now.
Nice ta make yer quaintance.
So, whats your name?
Bob.
Uh-huh.
Suddenly, it sounds like a war zone outside. Looking through the tiny hole in the cell door, about 100 soldiers clad in body armour adorned with red spider symbols are blasting the guards with strange mace-weapons. Did they just turn to dust? One of the soldiers points his mace weapon to the door and shoots out a strange red beam, and the door disintegrates - almost as if it had never been there.
He blacks out again. -
nice read.
i'll be posting mine when i7 goes live ;o it's already written i just planned on posting it once we escaped from prison. -
WOW! i need to fix whatevers up with my desktop so i can have this as my background

i just wanted to say, you should go on pop idol or x-factor!

I applied...last year? Two years ago? I didn't get very far. They didn't even show me on TV.
And, as for Super_Heroine not knowing who the mystery guest would be...that's why it's a mystery guest.

aw, maybe you should be worse -

Hi Bonnot. One idea would be to keep him under your own tactics, and keep enforcers/punks fighting relatively near him (the "go to" command).
I would advise slotting bruiser with 1x ACC, 1x EndRd and 3x DMG to start with.
Will you be soloing or partying away from the gang mostly? B'cos you should take into account other people's enforcers that'll be running about stacking manuevers, tactics and assault, let alone the leaderships of other masterminds.
Bulletproof. (Pistol)

bit of both soloing and teaming i'd hope. cheers mate, sounds like a safe bet -

more concerned about the bruiser being a melee hench and running out of tactics range.
-
As Enforcers give Tactics from level 12 onwards, and then from 24 onwards there is stacking Tactics, is slotting henchmen with 3dam2acc really the most effective route? I also plan on taking tactics. I've noticed that with 3dam, 2acc, and 1 enforcer using tactics my hencmen are rarely missing at the mo..
I'm considering 3dam 1acc in 'call thugs', 3dam 1acc 2tohit (or 1tohit, 1defbuff) in 'call enforcers' and 3dam 2acc 1disdur in the 'call bruiser' powers, freeing up an extra 2 slots. -

But...Weasel, you mix DMHO with 1,3,7-trimethylxanthine every morning!

haha -
wow: enforcers get assault too. thats brilliant!
3 x assault and 3 x tactics on henchmen once the MM has it too! -
you forgot that enforcers get maneuvers and then tactics with the first upgrade. pet only buffs.
-
well i'd team with you
my thugs MM is gonna be pet centric, but i'm still taking dual wield and the cae that i cant remember what its called. :\
-
mine is @Gblue on live guys. been fun teaming this afternoon!
-
after some thinking i've come up with a 'roleplay' explanation for having ghost widow/ 'dark' powers on a mind/psi (therefore 'telekinetic') char if you are not perfectly happy with 'receiving' the powers from ghost widow. it doesn't explain the pet but hey, arachnos give you that so you can cause havoc!
"having mastered telekinesis you can now punch holes in dimensional walls and control the negative energy found in other dimensions." this is similar to an explanation concerning teleportation and interdimensional travel i used for some telekinetic characters. -
i've read that you will not need a vertical travel power to navigate grandville. can't remember where, and of course it'll help to have one, but it's a case of fitting it in

Unless they change the pets AI in I7 TP is very useful to unstick your pets when they get stuck on/in scenery.

You only need recall friend for that.

exactly. with ss as well, you can get places quickly and transport the rest of the group over. -
this build looks great - i'll follow this build for my thugs mm but maybe take SS over teleport.
unless tp really is fantastic and i'm just paranoid over taking it -
i have to admit, it is the most entertaining power i've ever seen. and the fact that it's so functional is like icing on the cake!
-
atm we have no idea how powerful the leadership from the enforcers is gonna be.
thanks for the advice i'll do another build and come back later
(after work..) -
supremacy doesnt work when PFF is up, so yeah, it wont

my thinking is that gang war will have a massive recharge on, hence the 3 rec-enhances. I took stamina because I plan on doing some blasting (and 2 of the blast powers) - especially looking ultra-fly with 2 pistols
also went on current values for 'typical' pets.
would have liked combat jumping too for extra +jump but i can't really fit it in, unless there is a disposable traps power in there. -
it's a waste of a slot to put a 4th SO damage in. diminishing returns since ED and all that jazz.
