Dominator Patron Powers
after some thinking i've come up with a 'roleplay' explanation for having ghost widow/ 'dark' powers on a mind/psi (therefore 'telekinetic') char if you are not perfectly happy with 'receiving' the powers from ghost widow. it doesn't explain the pet but hey, arachnos give you that so you can cause havoc!
"having mastered telekinesis you can now punch holes in dimensional walls and control the negative energy found in other dimensions." this is similar to an explanation concerning teleportation and interdimensional travel i used for some telekinetic characters.
I threw a mental cause no one had posted the dominators powers, drove over a friends house, picked up the test server to drive home and read the Doms PPPs and now............
Side note, thanks Filth

Aww, I was hoping for resist numbers on armors. 1 end per second can't be right either.. I hope..
I'm disappointed at the AoE attacks. The damage doesn't look great and the recharges are long. I believe the ones in the secondary sets are better. I'm thinking I'll skip them and either the endurance recovery power or the pet, which lets me work Medicine back into my build. Perfect!
I saw Ghost Widow in RV using her hold against a tank, it's pretty jaw-dropping, it actually looks more telekinetic than anything else, and watching a big tank being picked up and twirled around is pretty funny as well.
Which is why my Dominator needs to be Ghost Widdow's because she's just that damn awesome. She comands respect (did try taking her out in that bugged mission by logging my high level alt into the team which my low level had created, couldn't hurt her at that time)

The damage numbers look weak. It's looking like Mu or Soul for me since I'm noticing endurance problems. If the armours are also weak it's not looking good.
My armour was planned at my level 49 power anyway, if the armour isn't good then I guess I'll miss out. I do want the end help (Ice/Ice has real issues if you use your toggles) and I guess an AoE would be handy to go with mezzed mobs (and help build Domination) The pets +perception and wanted for Night Widdows (Arctic Air is -stealth, doesn't help with their -perception)

Really? I've noticed it helping. I can see them while they're in the AA radius. At least that's what I always thought.. did they just happen to turn visible just then?
I'm wondering about the endurance recovery power. I'm doing alright for now but I only have one toggle (AA) and no AoE attacks at the moment and I might respec into something more PvPish when I get to 50, so that would probably mean AA + CE + armor + travel power. And maybe even Acrobatics.
Not sure if the shortened recharge of Domination will help or not, since the endurance boost it gives seems to be offset by the rabid dominator sickness so that I'm usually most in need of endurance when Domination runs out. Kind of makes me wish Domination had +recovery instead of refill.
You can see through the Night Widdows stealth, but not the smoke grenades she uses.
I always run CE, run AA on teams or with stealthed foes, and CJ when needed. AA is the big nasty drain, CE and CJ are alright together, unless there's a boss to fight *L*

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks! I guess you can still see them if you get close enough, though?
They seem to have very high mez protection, too, as do Wolfspider Huntsman bosses. Arachnos are probably the toughest enemies for my ice/ice. Lots of fliers, -acc from Night Widow and hold resistant evil bosses. And that red Mu electricity gives me a headache.
yeah cause all they do is shorten your perception range some.

So, what to pick, what to pick..
Leviathan mastery has that intriguing tornado power.
The armor is 2nd tier. I'm not sure if this is good or bad. Does it mean the armor is stronger?
Pet seems a bit weak in comparison as resistance to cold and psi doesn't seem terribly useful. However the slow would stack nicely with mine.
No endurance recovery power.
Thematically it seems a nice match with ice.
Soul mastery has an endurance recovery power but it isn't auto hit like Power Sink. Ayone have experience with Dark Consumption?
The pet seems pretty good. +perception can't hurt and -recharge would stack with mine. Also has a hold. Looking at the powers the damage might not be great.
Armor is probably pretty standard. Negative energy and toxic aren't very common though.
Mace mastery has a def based armor with good set of damage types. Could be good for avoiding mez in PvE.
The pet looks like it would immobilize things on my ice slick. I like that it has a few -fly powers, though, as I always have a bit trouble with fliers. Probably pretty good damage.
No endurance recovery power. Instead a debuff but I'm not sure it's as useful to me.
Mu Mastery seems pretty strong in general.
Power Sink is a great power. Fast animation, auto hit.
Charged Armor has a nice set of resists.
The pet can heal and hold.
I'd definitely go for Mu if it wasn't for the red electricity. I hate everything about it, the sound, the graphics and the concept. If it had proper blue-white electricity, I'd have made my choice ages ago. As it is, i'm not sure I can live with it. Sigh.
Leviathan looks better than I first thought. Waterspout probably is just the same as Tornado (although might not be) another control power would be nice but Tornado isn't that strong. I have a feeling all the armours are similar resistance, cold resistanace could be handy for PvP with all the ice blasters.
I have Dark Consumption with my Brute, the problem with the Dom version seems to be the recharge - 6 minutes, this seems pretty bad for a +End power. It looks like I can drop the fitness pool with Power Sink, but not with this.
The spider from Black Scorpion looks like the most all-out damaging pet but probably also the slowest moving.
Mu doesn't seem over the top with the lightning so far, the armour is subtle can I can hardly see power sink when it goes off, I've no doubt the Mu Guardian will be making a racket though. One of the reasons I could never play a Kheldian is the insane amount of over the top special effects they have but I think I can live with Mu so far. Not getting ball lightning. I like Scirocco as a patron, even though Mako would probably suit Bilharzia better; after slotting my top attack powers with End Reduction I found I didn't really have endurance problems after all, so I'm still tempted by Mako in fact...partly just for the craziness of Leviathan.
Maybe I'm overreacting to the red electricity. It's true, Power Sink has a very subtle animation and the pet isn't permanent. I don't really fancy having a red aura but maybe it wouldn't be too bad..
A red Aura would probably look better on Yeti than a black aura.
According to some stats on the US site Power Sink has a slightly larger AoE than Drak Consumption. The only drawback is the largish activation cost.
The Seer appears to give protection from confusion as well as +perception, but I think I would pefer the heal.
I really should do something about this signature.
My blaster has Power Sink and if it's at all same it's a great power. The endurance recovery is really good, you need only a couple of targets for full refill once it's slotted. I think I might slot it for recharge before endmods if I get it because the recovery is so good out of the box.
Does anyone know if any of the dominator Ghost Widow pool powers have the graphics of her soul storm attack? I've seen other ATs use it, I think it's the hold. We don't get the hold, so I'm afraid I can't get her patented soulstorm look for at least one of the attacks.
Anyone know?
Since the test server is down, I bunged together some screenshots of the information about the patron powers. Unfortunately some of the information I most wanted is not there namely, the numbers for the armours; even the Endurance cost is screwy, I've heard it should be listed as 0.16, or it is 1/End per second, or it's just less than 1 since the figures are rounded up, who knows. o.O
On the positive side, and this is almost certainly wishful thinking by me, the icon for the armour power is the one for the 'uber' armour for tankers and scrappers. Does this mean these armours are actually more powerful than you might think? ...hmmm...
