  1. That HAS to be the most anemic-looking lasso I have ever seen...
  2. UPDATED FOR YOUR PLEASURE

ALL PEACEBRINGER AND WARSHADE IMPERIOUS TASK FORCE!

    VIRTUE SERVER (between 5-6pm Pacific):
    1. Dechs Kaison - MFing Warshade
    2. Redlynne - Ms Terry Warshade
    3. Beorn - Dark Avengeress Warshade
    4. _Zep_ - Symby Peacebringer
    5.
    6.
    7.
    8.

Four more slots! FOUR! Quattro! Shi! Vier! Arba'a! Si! Quatra! 4!

    MAKE IT HAPPEN PEOPLE!!!
  3. I have a Crab and Widow both at 50(+1), and the Bane is at 45 [I did them separate rather than dual-build because when I don't want the backpack I DON'T want the backpack].

My widow is easily the nastiest beast of any of my characters... Poison, stabbing, Soul Mastery, double Leadership and soft-capped to almost everything? She is awesome!

My crab is an AoE machine. 5 pets, Leviathan (venom grenade + Bile Spray = lots of mobs melting before your very eyes) and Supression is the coolest looking power of them all.

My Bane is essentially a stalker with a big @$$ club. He is popping blue insps every other spawn NOW, but once I get him up to 50 and then through the Cardiac Incarnate... He will be an AV killer for sure!
  4. Doing your tip missions every day will net 1 Alignment merit every other day.
Do enough TF/SFs to have the inf and merits to purchase an Alignment merit every 20 hours (essentially once a day).

This means in 2 weeks you could have (at maximum) 23 Alignment merits. However, that is a LOT of work. That also would be 280 million inf and several hours spent to get ONE purple recipe with 3 alignment merits left over. Now, you'll still have the crafting costs (600,000 inf plus the salvage), but then you will have your ONE purple enhancement.

    OR

Do the same thing, except purchase a LotG Global Recharge, Numina's Regen/Recov, Miracle Proc, Regenerative Tissue Proc for TWO Alignment merits each. Then craft each one of them (around 480,000 inf each plus salvage) and sell them for 75 to 180 million each.

This leaves you with 15 Alignment Merits left over, and plus or minus 500 million inf.

For that, you could buy any purple enhancement, made, or a recipe and have a bit left over.

You can also do a ticket farming mission in the AE, and grab your rare salvage for 540 tickets each (one good farm will give you enough tickets for 2 rares plus 2-3 uncommon salvage).

By getting the IOs, crafting them and selling them for the inf, you would make much more than you needed to buy any purple recipe.

Right now, the hardest thing to get in the game are HOs and PvP IOs. Hamis can only come from Hami Raids or synthetics from the STF/LRSF, and PvP IOs cost 35 Alignment Merits or the 'are-you-kidding-me-you-lucky-stiff' drop.

Seems to me, getting A Merits to buy and craft stuff to get the inf to buy your purples is an easier and quicker system then chaining yourself to your computer for 2 weeks.
  5. I was on a (mostly) EAT ITF once myself too. I was the widow, and we had a crab, a bane and 2 PBs, a WS and a corr and a tank.

    It was VERY quick
  6. Heck, that'll be THREE Warshades, cuz I kinda like her better... But, we'll see. Still need 5 more slots.
  7. Okay, so, just like the other threads where they do the whole "list" thing-

ALL PEACEBRINGER AND WARSHADE IMPERIOUS TASK FORCE!

    VIRTUE SERVER (between 5-6pm Pacific):
    1. Dechs Kaison (I assume Warshade?)
    2. Redlynne (PB or WS)
    3. Beorn (PB or WS)
    4.
    5.
    6.
    7.
    8.

    So, who else we got?
  8. So, do I bring a WS or a PB? Both are one level apart...
  9. Friday afternoon then. Virtue. 5-6pm Pacific time, so 8-9pm Eastern?
  10. Just what exactly IS Master-Blade's Rom-Breaking Method?
  11. I'd like to try it. Dechs, are you up for it? Is it even possible?

I see this as a "Dirty Dozen" or perhaps better thought of as a "Magnificent Seven" concept where the Kheldian leaders have brought the Peacebringers and Warshades together to 'handle a problem in the time stream' and they don't want the other heroes OR villains to find out about the Nictus situation.

So, Virtue (for the Roleplayers), the ITF (for the Nictus/Cyst/Dwarf/Nova/Void nougaty goodness), and this weekend?

First tell me if this is doomed to failure before the proposal goes any further.

1st exercise: Create a brute, any brute.

2nd exercise: Log in your brute and notice the funny bar below your health and endurance. This is the iBITE bar implemented into this game for our therapy by the cooperative devs. (Thanks again!) Watch what it does. Notice the difference between activity and inactivity. Notice how your xp bar behaves differently when you have high iBITE.

3rd exercise: Repeat to yourself "More iBITE means more awesome. Only a full iBITE bar is a good iBITE bar. I will never let down my iBITE bar." until you have fully understood the message and know it by heart.

4th exercise: Play your brute and try and keep your iBITE bar filled as much as possible. When it is about to reach zero do something, anything, to fill it again.

5th exercise: Repeat exercise 4 only without looking at the iBITE bar. Only look at the iBITE bar when checking your progress in guessing your current amount of iBITE.

6th exercise: Cover the upper right corner of your monitor with a sticker, a post-it or anything similar so that you can see neither your health bar nor your iBITE bar. Then repeat exercise 5.

7th exercise: Create a toon from any non-squishy AT other than a brute. Seeing the iBITE bar with these ATs is the tricky part. In most cases the iBITE bar is invisible, but if you try hard enough you will see it in your mind. This is a special kind of interface for this therapy only.

8th exercise: Repeat exercises 5 and 6 with your non-brute non-squishy AT. If at any point you receive comments from other players that acknowledge your awesomeness or insanity proceed to the next exercise.

9th exercise: Create a toon from any squishy AT. As with the previous ATs you have to access the special mind-interface to be able to see the iBITE bar. If you are still unsure you might want to create a dominator as that AT has a special version of the iBITE bar called iBITE U. (U stands for "uber" of course.)

10th exercise: Repeat exercises 5 and 6 with this toon. Notice other players' reaction to your playstyle. Mind that most people find it unusual for a defender to rip his shirt apart, scream "HELL YEAH!" and jump headfirst into the next spawn while the tanker is still tieing his shoelaces. Remember that words like "nutjob" and "insane" have essentially the same meaning as "awesome".

I can proudly say I have mastered all ten exercises. Repeatedly. Sometimes I survive.
This is going on a very large T-Shirt!
  13. First time I went through with a mace/shield brute with NO problems. Then I used sonic/storm corr and THAT was no problem. Then I tried a SS/SR brute again with no trouble.

Currently using a KM/WP scrapper that from level 2 on has been +0/x4 with no worries.
  14. I was the PB on that run, and I gotta tell you, the way you played your fire/dark corr made me SO want to revisit how I have mine slotted.

Truthfully, you did a hell of a job, and I enjoyed myself thoroughly and completely!
  15. Nope. I think you are just fine with mobs from lvl. 47-54...

More mobs of Lt. or Boss level = slightly higher percentage of drops.

But, I do think is gets "streaky" in that I have had 4 shards drop in the first mission of an ITF (the Sybils) and then not get another until the last mission taking down Rommie-Nictus.
  16. Damn, rule of 5... I had forgotten...

    This is some good reading!
  17. My search-fu is weak this evening...

I was thinking about crafting a character whose express purpose is to be "purpled out."

But, since there are melee, PBAoE, ranged, hold, etc., etc... Different purple IO sets that don't fit neatly into one specific category, I wondered which of the ATs, hero or villain, could use the most or even <gasp> ALL of the purple IO sets.

    So, conditions:

    APP and PPP powers count.
One build per character (no switching to your second or [incarnate] third build to work them all onto one character).
Viability is important... After all, if one is going to spend 1-4 billion per power, then the damn AT better be awesome.

So, which one will it be?

BTW, Basilisk's Gaze in Char is a good choice, I've used them myself, but I usually also slot some Thunderstrike so it's also enhanced for damage.
I agree. Fireblast hits well, and Thunderstrike was an excellent choice.

I don't mean to sound like I am ungrateful for the assistance from those better at understanding the system than I do, and I certainly hope it didn't come off that way.

I can see that this is going to be a major work in progress. He is "fine" the way he is, but he could be much better, and all of these ideas are excellent!

I'm going to look through these things again this weekend and see what I need for the next respec.
  19. Wow! That is a nice build too! Now, instead of the Heal IO in Health, what about a Miracle?
  20. Yeah, I knew about the toxic (seems unlikely you can "avoid sewage"), but when I first started this thread it was to make myself as generally unkillable as possible. With even ONE foe in range, I am pretty darn close to that, provided the damage is not solely toxic/fire/cold. Most damage in game has a smashing and/or lethal component, so I thought I would be okay...

I did not want to break the rule of 5 though. I am less enthused about dropping a Kinetic Combat than Smashing Haymaker. Twice as effective and I really use the Knockdown to my advantage when soloing.

I have 4 Hamis on this build, but no purples... Are there even any that would benefit this build?

See, I am a learned man, but in classical crud and I have very little understanding for Mids and/or computery stuph. So, asking for this kind of assistance is my way of remaining lazy and not learning a new skill.

But, honestly, I ask 4 invul tanks and get 5 different build ideas...
  21. Those were the things I was thinking about...

So, when I am surrounded by opponents (as in, more than 4), my defense is as follows:

    Smashing/Lethal Defense: 65.57%
    Fire/Cold Defense: 44.94%
    Energy/Negative Energy Defense: 58.07%
    Psionic Defense: 13.67%

My Damage Resistance is as follows:
    Smashing/Lethal: 90%
    Fire: 20.85%
    Cold: 18.35%
    Energy/Negative Energy: 34.18%
    Psionic: 0.00%
    Toxic: 17.09%

And yet, I was in a AE mission to test out my armor in varying scenarios, and I got my butt handed to me in one where, I THINK, it was toxic damage.

I am now routinely at +2/x8 simply because I think more stuff drops that way [and as a 50(+1) it really is only +1] like shards, tickets, recipes, etc.

It seems to me, Finduilas, that you and Call Me Awesome have a difference of opinion on the effectiveness of RPD...

With the numbers I just looked up, in combat, what is "wrong" with the build other than the violation of the "rule of 5"?

*EDIT* - Now, the epic attacks are something I was curious about... I really think Fireball and Char are more useful than Fireblast. I use Fireball more as a PBAoE (right before or after Whirling Hands), and if I need to pick someone out from a distance I usually use a Nemesis Staff or Blackwand. I had planned on putting Basilisk's Gaze on Char (4 slots worth) for the Recharge, and as a good hold besides (for Hami Greens and other stuff). But I don't know. I love him the way he is, but tweaking him for better damage, recharge and survivability (for things OTHER THAN Smashing/Lethal) are always desirable.

So, Finduilas, looking at the E/NE numbers I posted regarding multiple opponents, do you still recommend the same reslotting?

*EDIT* - Part Deux - Those numbers were without hover on too... add another +2.83% defense to all the above numbers with hover toggled.
  22. This is my "final" build.

There are no purples, but I have some HamiOs. I would be interested to see what people think I could do to improve the build with different IOs...
