All I can say is.....

Quote:How about if you buy something and it doesn't show up...DON'T BUY IT AGAIN RIGHT AWAY? Seriously, if I bought something in the market and it didn't show in my email (or however it is to be delivered) after say 5-10 minutes, I'd contact support.. NOT mash the buy button like a kid on a sugar rush. Yes, they are show stopper bugs and there should be a stop in place- but only to prevent badc press/ill will from players that can't wait like a normal person and realize it isn't instant at times. And this is what you choose to focus on? *sighs*
How about "I bought this powerset. It didn't go through. I bought it again. It didn't go through. Then I got both emails and it went through. But I can't get my points or my money back from buying it the second time." I did this in the beta with the available powersets. I'm going to assume that others will make this mistake as well. On a beta with free points, its' not a problem. On live with paid-for points and no refunds? Problem.
Or when buying the extra storage expansions. You did notice how difficult it was to keep track of which ones you had already bought and which ones you still needed to buy? I know I did. I'm relatively certain I bought a few of them multiple times. Again, beta, free points, no problem. Live, paid-for points, no refunds, problem.
Feel free to continue your ravings about the mac players and my imaginary numbers. It sure does suck to be a minority in the community, this community especially. Reminds me of offline. -
My personal hatred of Macs aside (honestly Mac considerations should NEVER factor into MMO programing- the % of users is too small)- I understand why launch was postponed.
It's not the bug itself, it's the bad press it would generate. That they cannot afford (example- the OTHER tights MMOs lol) and since the Dev team has made a real effort to include fringe.... err Mac players then this is the right course. -
Something occurred to me- they MAY be spacing them out so that the VIP vets can get them all with Paragon points as sort of a .. TY for being VIP? I know there was a bit of a backlash at VIPs still having to buy Powersets- I was one of the ones unhappy. If SJ release a month or 2 after launch, and I can get it "free" with my PPs, I'm happy waiting.

I am really pissed at this, but we all saw it coming and we WERE warned. This is how a la carte works- it nickel and dimes you if you aren't careful.
I'll refer to M1's post above-
"It either feels like a shallow cash grab, a scheme to get people to buy in to the weekly sales, or a penalty against veterans for getting 400 (or 550) free points a month."
IT IS ALL OF THE ABOVE. I'm glad I bought the packs I wanted Friday, because once Freedom Launches, NCSoft will get my $15 a month and that is it.
BTW- putting money on it now- Freedom launches on or shortly after 8/30. -
Aw Hell..... I HOPE launch is mid-September.. I still need to buy a ton of Booster Packs.. like $110 worth... And there's no way I can drop that before the 30th!!!!

I decided to concentrate on a couple characters and that was it.
Undauntable (Human-form PB)- 14-45
Agent Hellfire (Fire/Dev Blaster)- 1-27 -
has anyone figured out the global recharge needed for Perma-Light Form? (I have my melee defense-capped Human form at 105% recharge with 3 slotted Hasten, is this enough? Hasten is down 28 seconds though)

I will re-roll my DP/Thermal Corr as a Therm/DP Defender which I've wanted since Therm got ported to Controllers.
I have a MA/SD Scrapper I will reroll as Street Justice immediately the set is available. The character is a homage to the Marvel character "Spirit of 76" and the animations on SJ just fit better. (Now I just need a tri-corner hat costume piece!!!)
Other then that I'm just bringing a couple EA toons out of mothballs- I'm hoping the changes to EA make my DB/EA Brute not so... boring! -
I fully understand emergency downtimes, hell, I have to fix them at work! Also considering some of the crazy lag/bugs we are getting, I'm not surprised if its a Hardware issue.
Without the rage and snarkiness and "I wanna reward!!" mentality though, I think based on this being the 2nd one today, we could use a lil more info then they are giving. -
Steelclaw... I would say you nailed another one right on the head... but that's the whole point of the list!

Quote:Ah but here's the question, say a 6 year VIP starts with his original 12, 6 from vet rewards and he's bought 15 slots for a total of 33. Freedom goes live and he buys the 12 available JUST for VIPs. If that VIP then goes Premium, does he still keep those "VIP 12"? He should since technically they are bought slots.Yes, but the 12 he got 'for free' (ie the standard slots every subscriber gets ) will go away.
I'm guessing, but i believe that's the whole reason only VIPS can buy up to 48 slots. Premium players will be able to buy up to 36 and then when they subscribe they will have 48. -
If a VIP buys 12 additional slots then goes Premium, do they keep those slots?

Super-shrub: No matter how tweeked out your super villain is, no matter he obliterates everything in sight on a Mayhem Mission... he will get stuck on the one damn tree standing and get gang-piled by every PPD and Longbow on the map and slaughtered before he can get un-stuck.

Quote:If I remember when they raised it to 36, it IS a hardware issue that limits the number of slots. I don't remember the specifics, but it's hardware onm NCSofts side, not Paragon's. Remember every time the NCSoft ingame (well in character screen...) store is offline so are any extra slots you've bought.Serious question:
Why stop at 48 character slots per server? Is there a serious hardware/server/software concern? Why not just let us go crazy!
That said, thanks for the higher character slot cap.
[edit: I honestly think the cap should be doubled to 72, and we should be able to filter our character select screen by alignment] -
It's only called Crushing Uppercut because "TIGER UPPERCUT!!!" was already taken
