But it would be nice to switch sides, and heroes can enter villain zones and villaihs can enter hero zones. And add a new alignment called Rogue, that allows you to enter both hero and villain sides. And not only can a hero become a villain, allow heroes and Villains to become the new alignment as well. Basically opening up the entire game to all characters on both sides.

This is what I'm hoping it leads to. The whole "Praetoria" chunk sounds like it could lead to "way" to change ethics in-game (say, you get tagged to help Tyrant to cement his rule over his world, and in doing so, your hero "falls", and vice versa), and once done, you'd be able to enter the opposing faction's zones. I love Beef's "Rogue" idea; even if I didn't get any badges, I'd just love it for opening the zones up, finally.

In my mind, I'm already seeing PVP combat in the streets of Steel Canyon. I can dream, right?

This has a lot of creative potential. Jonesing for concrete info, but what I've read thus far is pretty damn promising.

(And here I was, thinking I would have to write an Architect arc about Doc Turg's eventual fall to evil - he was built to fall from day one waaay back in 2004 - and now I don't have to. )

You know, I was talkinng with my SG about this a while ago, saying how cool it would be to simulate Villains entering Paragon City like the Rikti invasion, for example, they enter Steel Canyon and their goal is to defeat Positron in Blyde Square, and its the Heroes Job to defend him. And have Positron animate and become a NPC. You could technically do this to all the Zones with NPC characters.

    Now this would be cool!

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's exactly what I'm alluding to. Enough of "they're all grey to me, no xp". Villains should have the opportunity to be villainous in the streets of KR or Steel. Heroes should be able to help the citizens of Mercy Island and break the Arachnos grip. All of this could be done with PVE, duel-format PVP, and zone-toggled PVP for raid events. It would bring the PVP aspect of the game TO the PVE side without being overly intrusive, and really liven up zone action.

I mean, how awesome would it be to be a new lvl 10, walking through Steel, and looking up to the sky to see a lvl 50 tank get knocked back halfway down the block by a team of supervillains who've busted through?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't even get me started, the potential for this would be ...bah nvm. I'm going to shut up....lol

I would love nothing more than to see this happen! Just the thought of being a villain to enter Atlas Park and have a dozen or so heroes whack at the villain would be priceless and awesome! Thats all i will say about it

  3. What would be nice is to be able to switch sides with no loss of anything you own. Not just badges, I'm talking about inf, enhancements and levels. Otherwise, you may as well create a new Hero or Villain from scratch.

This would be a very nice addition to the game and give us plenty of new content to run on our already created Heroes/Villains.

But even if it's limited to just Hero and Villains swapping alignment, this raises a few questions:

    1. Will there be a market merger?
    2. Will we be allowed to trade between Hero <--> Rogue <-->Villain?
    3. Will all of the power sets be proliferated for all alignments.
  4. Well, unfortunately, thisa is incorrect as well.

I used my level 33 blaster in Bloody Bay which was exemplared to level 25 to do the killing and here are the results in recipe levels I got as a reward.

I fought a level 50 exemplared to level 25 in Bloody Bay and was rewarded a level 41 recipe.

I fought a level 19 sidekicked to level 25 in Bloody Bay and received a level 41.

I then went to Sirens Call and did the same test. The same results occured.

I then went to Warburg and for the past 2 days I have yet to get a recipe. So it seems the explared character gets a recipe but not of the characters level. A sidekicked character doesn't seem to be getting anything, unless my testing is coming up really unlucky and just haven't gotten one yet. I'm starting to think it doesn't grant the reward, because after 2 days of testing, for about 6 hours, I should've gotten at least 1 by now.

So something it definately borked here. I reported this to Synpase and Castle already, and they are looking into it.

Because as it stands we will never see a pvp recipe lower than 41 with the way things are working.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
I'm pretty sure that the level of the recipe dropped depends on the person you killed. So you say you got a level 41 recipe, so my guess is that the person you took out was between level 39-44.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was thinking that too, but I seen the same person today and they are level 50, so that doesn't explain the 41
  6. Yesterday, I was in Bloody Bay working on getting some Shivans, and I was engaged by a villain. I was on my level 33 Blaster. I defeated him and I received my first PvPIO.

My question is why did I receive a level 41 which I can't use? I would think I would get either a level 25 recipe or at the very least my natural level recipe which would be level 33. Not a 41 which i can't use at all.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is this a bug or what?

hey, some of you don't seem to be aware that the boards let people disable signatures.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well aware, actually. But seeing as how unlike almost any other message board, there are no obnoxious images or long signatures I honestly couldn't see why anyone would disable them.

The Time Bandits, Arc ID 39008

And edit, because I keep forgetting: I'm looking for playthroughs over ratings. Either there's some kind of bug with the tracking on the Author badges, or the majority of folks who have been rating my arcs are not completing them... Mind you, I understand that's the more immediate function of this thread, but an MA badge is an MA badge, eh? I want the accolade, and I couldn't care less about ratings.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well you got my playthrough and rate. I sent you feedback as well. I hope ya got it

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hrm. Sounds like there might be a problem, then. When I logged in today and got your feedback, progress on the badge hadn't budged from where it was.

Confusing the issue is that I logged back in to double check, and spotted that I got two new votes on Time Bandits (no feedback, though), as well two more playthroughs. So either those two votes were drive-by fivings, and the Author badges lag badly, or the tracker is outright missing playthroughs.

(Incidentally, I did clean up that clue a bit.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can run it again on my second account if you like and let you know when Im about to finish it so you can keep track of the progress bar. But I know I finished it yesterday or the day before, I can't remember.

    Just let me know.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If this is true, then why am I still receiving spam mail on a daily basis asking me to buy influence of Powerleveling?

I think you may want to check this out, because this portion is not working as you are describing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The RMT'ers sending you that e-mail are undoubtedly just doing it from a "paid" account. They buy a copy of the game, make a new account, and use it to spam their junk. Yeah, they'll get shut down quick enough, but then they just have to buy another copy of the game and make a new account. It only costs $20 for a game code, which they can then use to make however much money it is they make by doing this.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If this is the case, they are spending more money actiuvating accounts to use the email system more than they make.

I'm still getting about 10-15 spam mails on each character I have. Even characters that haven't been logged in for over 2 months!

More power to them I guess. I just can't see them spenind the money for time cards only to spam people and have the account terminated a hour later.

I like it, but this is about the fifth or sixth thread I've seen it mentioned in.

Not a slam on you, of course. Many of them may very well have disappeared in the purging of the Beta boards.

I'll have to withdraw mine from earlier up: it got invalidated due to having Fire Imps (oh the horror). If I fived yours, and you didn't get around to mine, whatever, free 5 for you I guess.

I liked your arc, and rated it That sucks!

Can't you just change them to rikti monkeys instead of Fire imps? I know they aren't as attractive but its a thought
  15. Wow only two people want or like this idea?
  16. Ok I rated and commented on all of your story arcs.

Egos_Shadow, I already ran your a day or so ago so I couldn't do it again.

BadStorm...all I can say is OMG! hahaha awesome!

And destiny_morna, I too ran your arcs a few days ago as well.

Hopefullly we will get more people in on this. It could help us all out in the long run
  17. Well if everyone in this thread plans on doing this, may I request that we all send a feedback comment with your arc id numbers so we can return the favor so we don't have to tab back and forth between the forums and the game. It will help a great deal.
  18. Good idea, or you could do what others are doing.

    INFLUENCE FOR STARS!

I wasn't too shocked when I seen people actually spamming this in broadcast. What was really funny is people were actually doing it.

I think the rate was 5 million for 5 stars...lol

But either way works, except for one costs ya influence.

But I too will return the stars I receive. There are a lot of farm missions out there and they seem to be rated better than most of the real mission arcs.
  19. Forgive me if this is the wrong section but I felt this one would work well.

There are two new features I would love to see added to the MA system.

<ul type="square"> [*]Favorites Tab [*]To Do List / Que List [/list]
Favorites, I would like to have this so I can add the story arcs I enjoy and would like to play again.

To Do List / Que List, I would like to have this because I get quite a few people that play my arcs and want me to run theirs. And people also suggest arcs and it would be nice to be able to put their arc in that list for me to run at a later date.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
There WAS one. But not any more. They need to re-label the Hall of Fame star as 'Grief Me'.

    [/ QUOTE ]

As funny as this sounds and is, you are absolutely correct.

I have watched a arc go to HoF, and then knocked down within seconds of it making it there. Rise back to HoF and dropped back down again.

Its really sad this is happening, and of all the badges, we are required to run 250 of these. This is one sick joke.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
I think arcs should lock into Hall of Fame.

    [/ QUOTE ]

except for the problem if someone edits an in-place arc and makes it non-HOF quality.

so do you lock in until republished? if so, you can't really immediately re-lock it once republished because no one has a chance to 1-star the now lousy arc.

It's a great idea in theory, but I'm not sure what's the fairest way to really implement it. Perhaps it's good enough to know that HOF has a buffer if it's averaging well over the HOF Rating requirement.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Simple solution, once it reaches HoF lock it in place and don't allow it to be edited, just as a Dev Choice works.

If you've reached HoF, it must be great and therefore you really should't have any reason to edit it.
  22. With the way all of the badges in the play this or play that line of series badges, all of them are for playing 100 story arcs.

Why is it that the Hall of Fame shows 250?

With the way the HoF is working, it will take longer than any epic badge in the game to get. Story arcs, may make it to the Hof, but they do not stay there at all for very long.

Myself and a few others I know have played a HoF arc, and by the time we finished the arc, it was no longer a HoF and we did not get credit for playing a HoF arc.

I really think this line of badges need to be brought down to all the others which is 100. And I do believe the Hall of Fame arcs should stay in HoF status once they are achieved. Otherwise, we will never get this line of badges completed at all.

    What say you?
  23. [ QUOTE ]
I think what bothers me most about the HoF requirements isn't the requirement itself, it's trouble with some members of the playerbase and how they rate.

For instance, I received feedback on an arc that was floating in the 4-5 star range that consisted of "too hard, team kept dying." Since I was online I asked what specificaly was too hard and was informed "it was too stupid hard all the way through." Now, mind you this arc has exactly 3 custom bad guys (all end bosses/ebs) and the rest are regular baddies, so I was curious what exactly had happened. I pressed a bit for more details. Turns out they had a team of 7, one 50 who was getting the missions and six 46 to 48s and were running at the highest difficulty. That means the baddies were +3 to +7 to the majority of the team. Yeah, of course it was "too hard." His parting comment was, "it sux, one star from everyone" and sure enough, in a few moments, I got 5 new ratings and the rating of the arc dropped from showing 5 stars to 4.

If people are going to rate not based on the content itself, but their own poor playing or their own poor choices in building a team or worse, that it was "too hard" to run at +7 then the rating system becomes a joke.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is exactly why the rating system was a bad idea. It was taken away from us here on the forums for member rating. Now they give us a rating system for our arcs?

    I just don't understand it.

As I posted in the other thread, I feel your pain. I posted my main arc up as soon as I logged in to issue 14 and it contains 4 missions. it would take a solo player about 40-45 minutes to run, if you took your time.

No sooner I posted my arc to the server, 2 minutes later I got my first rating which was a 1 star. So we knew this was going to happen. THis person rated my arc probably because they don't like me or it was just a random vote from someone being a jackass.
  24. After posting my Main story arc up which is 4 mission long, I received my first Rating 2 minutes later which was a 1 star rating. My arc takes at least 30 minutes to run if you stealth all of it and go for the objectives. SO there is no way 2 minutes later I have my first rating.

Nice work there huh. The rating systm is a joke and needs to be removed or improved upon real fast. Lord only knows how many others voted on my story arcs the same way and I'm sure many others just out of spite.
