  1. <TYPED IDEA>

I suggest that the <insert redundency here> is a wonderful idea, and that all forum posters should start doing the same thing!!

    <TYPED DISAGREEMENT>

I don't care for you idea though. We already have enough maps to choose from.

  2. /signed

Rip out Galaxy's also or that would potentially be the new Atlas.

No. It is NOT. You're NOT getting paid to sit there and twiddle your thumbs. You're being paid for the time that's being wasted by others.

If you were being paid for what you were doing, or being paid for what you WERE going to do, you'd be paid a FLAT FEE.

But for waiting (not shutting down), you're paid on an hourly scale.

You're wrong. Please just man up and admit it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is how I would interpret it also.

Fire will run across something similar with hot feet.

Actually one just has to be on the ground to activate the power, and can freely use it in the air after.

Overall, the Target in air error for the Plant AT really makes no sense. The reason we are supposed to accept is that vines can't spontaneously grow from thin air, yet in buildings it somehow makes sense for vines to spring up from metal flooring. All of the Plant powers should be usable in mid-air because it can easily be explained as using seeds as is already done in the power Seeds of Confusion.

I invoke thee, Castle! Please.. change this.
  5. It's not just you. This change has frustrated me and my emoting greatly, but there is a fix.

Copy this exact entry to your keybinds.txt file or custom .txt file.

    Or another way:

  6. con trap tion [kuhn-trap-shuhn]
    –noun Informal.
    a mechanical contrivance; gadget; device.
Synonyms: Rube Goldberg device, apparatus, appliance, contrivance, doohickey*, gadget, gizmo*, machine, mechanism, rig, thingamajig*, widget

Another thread got me thinking about this idea. CoX already offers a nice variety of the more archetypal super powers from either full powersets or pool powers. However, except for a spattering of examples like the Zero-G Pack, Raptor Pack, and the Crey CBX-9 Pistol, there really isn't a powerset that embodies this. Now before someone says we already the Devices set let me further clarify that I would like to see contraptions that are more unique or even bizarre, like the Nemesis Staff.

    Thoughts?
  7. Oh that's so cute! The license plate even says " PWN ".

When I played WoW full time, Engineering was my favorite profession. I loved all the contraptions I could use and show off.

While I agree that vehicles in CoX would be too difficult to implement, it would be nice if the game had a powerset that had a mechanical or even mad scientist feel.

thats why its generally the status quo if u dont know what your doing to just buy a new computer if your mother board is toast. i'd suggest call a pro, don't risk ruining anything that is still functional.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This.

There are so many factors to consider and examine at this point. Don't post any, but what about this and this and this, and don't do anymore tinkering. Take your machine to a computer diagnostic and repair professional.
  9. A quick aside. Cyberpowerpc is a decent middle-of-the-road PC builder and IMO not crap like some poster's might suggest.

That said, I would wager that the majority of people that may have a bad experience with Cyperpowerpc or any PC builder, has made the same mistakes that you are about to.

Never go with a "standard" Power Supply.

Picking "standard" basically tells them to put any ole thing in. If you are not knowledgeable enough to know which component brands are better to choose then IMO you shouldn't be building a computer in the first place. Here are my suggestions to add to that build.

[*]600 Watts Power Supplies (Thermaltake ToughPower 600 Watt Power Supply - Quad SLI Ready) [+117]
[*]CoolerMaster V8 Gaming CPU Cooling Fan (Extreme Silent Operation at only 22dBA + Overclock Proof) [+58]
    [*]Asus P5N-D nForce 750i SLI Chipset LGA775 FSB1333 DDR2 Mainboard [+83]

I avoid MSI motherboards like the plague.

[*]NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 512MB 16X PCI Express (Major Brand Powered by NVIDIA) [u]and choose[u] EVGA Powered by NVIDIA [+38]

This should be a no-brainer. Why choose a 9800 GT when for $38 more you get slightly better than a 9800 GTX+. If you plan on eventually running on a bigger monitor (around 24" and greater) then you would want the 1GB version.

In closing, do your research and keep doing what you are doing now... asking questions.

Okay, that distraction out of the way...

I really like this idea, but I suspect it couldn't be implemented with the current game engine.

Unless I'm forgetting something, there is no effect, buff, or temp power in the game that adds a completely new damage type (cold, fire, toxic, etc) to an attack that previously didn't have that damage type. In that case they couldn't just tweak an existing mechanic, they would have to create an entirely new one. That is also assuming that said new mechanic would even work in the current game engine.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Dont IOs do this exact thing tho? Slot a "Chance for Energy Damage" into an attack and wham, you deal energy damage. I beleive his toggles would just take away the chance and have it auto. IIRC that is.

This is a cool idea however, and I swear on my hero's grave that I was thinking of something similar to this idea. Darn you for beating me to the punch! *Shakes Fist*

    [/ QUOTE ]

D'oh! That definitely falls under "unless I'm forgetting something".
  11. [ QUOTE ]
You guys are really unhelpful. How stupid can this company be NOT to run their patches on a bittorrent client, a solution that is universally known to work for everyone?

No I am not running on satellite, and the amount of people running on satellite is so small it makes your suggestion rather useless to most. I'm on cable, never ever had any connection problems to anything. Heck, I even run my own dedicated server for live video conferencing for my website so I know a thing or two about running connections.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can understand that you are probably very frustrated, however nobody is paying us to try to help in these forums and we don't have to put up with attitude.

Chances are pretty good that your rude comments just killed your chances for further suggestions here.
  12. Follow the instructions from here and see if that helps.

Since when is Dual Pistols going to be anything like AR, besides that they both do Lethal damage (partly and presumably) and use weapons? Have you ever even played AR? It's got a single-target stun, two Fire attacks, and a smashing/lethal AoE.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, um.. they are both guns maybe?
  15. [ QUOTE ]
I think they also said no to power suggestions like Wall Climbing, Swinging Travel Power, and Whips because of coding difficulties with the game engine[/i]

    I'm sure there's a few others that I'm forgetting.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They also said no to Super Speeding up the side of a building. It would be so cool though.

[Edit] Oh and with effects like whips.. I didn't realize how hard that kind of animation is to do until I watched the extras for the movie Bolt (the leash effect).

I should have been more clear what I meant by subscription.

"A purchase made by signed order, as for a periodical for a specified period of time or for a series of performances."

Basically, I'm only talking about MMO's that have subscription options of either a monthly fee or lifetime one-time payment. I didn't know that LotR even offered that, so duly noted.

If you are that much against a subscription then just go with Guild Wars. I don't see CoX ever adding a Lifetime Subscription option.
  18. Please show me even one MMO that offers a Lifetime Subscription option.

But when I asked about changing the account name, the GM told me it wasn't allowed, and directed me to make a new account.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Changing the Name in the Account Profile is not allowed, but all of the other billing information can be changed. It is not unusual to have one name in the Account Profile, and a different name in the Billing Summary. Since you are already able to login to NCsoft Account Management, there is no reason to make a new account.

Actually, there wasn't any need to get Support involved. Just make the address and billing changes and you're set.

Also to clarify, which I should have mentioned earlier, said brother passed away.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Wow. Sorry to hear that. I realize that it might be uncomfortable to have your brother's name staring at you, but in time I think it could instead be a rather nice tribute to him.

But I think the Devs have made it quite clear that AE is not intended to be a place to earn rewards...

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    False.

Anyone who believes this needs to go back and reread Positron's original post, and stop misquoting it.

"This Mission Architect primary purpose is for telling stories. We do not want people to spend days making a great story only to find it shuffled into a list of missions with titles like "Get your Rikti Monkey badge here".... "

    "Re: Ticket System
This system is in place so that we can better control the non-XP, non-Inf. rewards that are handed out by the system. Since the Architect determines a lot of the details of the mission, this puts a great amount of control over drops into their hands. With tickets, we can set a threshold that is simply unsurpassable.

That said, we want the ticket system to mirror in quality and quantity of reward as compared to the bulk of the normal game as much as possible. The idea being that if you levelled a character from 1 to 50 exclusively in Mission Architect, you won't be gimped or OP as compared to a level 50 that never touched the system."

The rewards from AE missions are supposed to, at the very least, be equal to the "quality and quantity" of rewards from non-AE missions.

Also, Posi could use a grammar checker.

  21. [ QUOTE ]
Since Atlas Park is where the majority of new players start the game, the farmers in AE should move elsewhere to prevent this kind of thing from happening. The guy I mentioned above told me he asked if there was anything else to do in the game and someone told him no. He was about to quit because he thought that's all there was to the game.

I know it's never going to happen. The farmers have no reason to move because they don't care if they are annoying people with broadcast spam for farm missions or ruining the game for new players by telling them there is nothing else to do. The worst part is, the new crop of farmers that are telling people there is nothing else to do? Some of them probably believe that because that's what THEY were told.

I avoid Atlas altogether these days unless I HAVE to go there for some reason.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would rather see the AE buildings taken out of Atlas, Galaxy and King's. I would really prefer that AE was available at the same time as Ouroboros, but that would probably never happen.

IMO AE is too much of a distraction at the early levels. Let the new players actually learn how to play the game at the same time that they are exposed to the original stories. I'm starting to encounter more and more new players that don't even have a clue about bank missions, detectives and the temp travel powers because they immediately get sucked into AE and before they know it are lvl 16.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
End drain has been pretty useless as a primary support/defense mechanism for a long time. Enemies requires next to no endurance to actually use most of their attacks, including their best ones. In order to actually have much of an effect, you're going to need to throw out huge amounts of -recov at all times, which isn't particularly feasible in AoE situations.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What I've experienced differs dramatically then. Enemies can only perform the attacks that they have the endurance for. The only situation where I can see end-drain attacks not being viable is in PvP.

I regularly end drain enemies on my Electric / Energy Blaster. After the first chain of Power Boost > Short Ciruit > Ball Lightning, they have 0 end and are TOAST. Also, with max recharge enhancements and either Hasten or global recharge, it's not very hard to keep Short Circuit coming up in under 10 sec. They never get a chance to regain any Endurance and can't do anything.

Actually, anyone can sue anyone else for any reason. The real questions are: 1) Is it worth it? and 2) Will you win? (perhaps a subset of 1, but some curmudgeons sue even with no hope of winning just to make a point).

Your legal system scares me on occasion.

On the other hand, I think it IS good policy for the company to discuss their policy or philosophy regarding discipline, including aggregate numbers. For example, I think it would be OK for them to state (with my own made up numbers):

"Recently we took disciplinary action on 157 accounts that had engaged in exploitive conduct inside the mission architect. On further review we realized that we had mistakenly disciplined 15 accounts. Those accounts have been fully restored, compensated, and have our sincere apology for the misunderstanding. We are reviewing our internal policies and systems to ensure that those errors are not made in the future."

I would appreciate seeing a post like that. I'm sure others would as well; and a bunch wouldn't like it all . . . like most things in this forum.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would love to see this happen. But, I won't hold my breath.
