Another fast way to fix things (this has happened to me on my ninja/storm MM) is to hit them with a buff or heal, it generally gets them back into your command and with the proper names.

Quote:Sky Raiders are actually controlled by Nemesis.as are the Sky Raiders, who I'd turn into a mid-level proxy for Malta (i.e. secretly controlled by them), tying both groups together in lore which should be easy as both have a military background and an anti-superhero agenda - then the Devs could ramp up the anti-supers conspiracy from L20+ with the Sky Raiders, setting the stage for Malta/KoA at L40-50 (like The Lost set the stage for the Rikti, and the Skulls/Trolls for The Family re Superadine). Maybe also give Malta some Skiffs like the Sky Raiders use, but better armed and nastier, and make Sky Raider JumpBots a bit more ubiquitous (maybe add some bigger versions with Zeus/Hercules-like elements). And lots more arc content all-round - give Malta an aircraft-carrier base that we can fight on/inside/through in missions/TFs.

Quote:...And maybe a Warriors leader who mastered all of the ancient fighting techniques to become kind kind of super-gladiator or roman centurion, with appropriate full-body armour to go with it.
IT'S ALL GREEK TO ME! ""\(o.o)/""

Quote:As another interesting semi-example is Energy Melee's stun effects which will result in your enemies not attacking for a period. If you're referring to allowing */DA to maintain mez effects, it's probably because it doesn't create a wholesale decrease in fury generation. Ice Armor and Ice Melee slowed down the attack speed of all enemies in melee with them for a good while after the Brute left them. */DA only prevents the lowliest enemies from attacking and, even then, requires that the Brute remain next to them the entire time.
Of course, this completely ignores the fact that there are only 2 powers in */DA that provide large scale slowdown in fury generation while virtually all of Ice Armor and Ice Melee are designed to do such. If you want to turn off the power that is inhibiting your fury generation, DA can do it reasonably easily. Ice Armor and Ice Melee, on the other hand, don't really have that luxury since anything they do would decrease fury generation. -
So, if you were ever allowed to redesign and redo some of the stories on canon factions, which ones would you pick and what would you change, add, and/or remove and what kind of things would you do to the story?
For me, my two picks are Longbow and the Skulls.
Longbow, but it's more proactive than some OTHER super groups *Cough*FreedomPhalanx*Cough*DawnPatrol*Cough*, it's only problem is that what it has in zeal it has lost out on common sense, decency, and understanding of international laws.
There's a lot I would do to the faction units itself, namely be structuring them to end up like a cross between their current selves, the Vanguard, the PPD, and a little bit of Crey thrown in.
I would also have them re-purposed in story terms as mostly a relief organization you would encounter along the coasts and docks of places like Mercy, Port Oaks, and with an off shore series of Freighters serving as an HQ in Nerva, working to get people who need to, out of the Rogue isles while also sending food and clothing to those in need. At least when your villain starts out, but the idea being that as your character continues and moves up in their story, Longbow is forced into more and more drastic steps till they're that borderline fascist Knight Templars who have stopped caring about helping and more focus on bringing down villains at no matter the cost.
For the Skulls, because they seriously have less story behind them than the Hellions, and that's just pathetic.
I'd basically redesign them from the ground up as a nihilist group and still have a creepy thing for the concept of death, a cabal of sociopaths and homocidally emo thugs who draw pleasure in dragging people down in their dark perspective and snuffing out the light of life with wicked glee. Also, I'd change the leaders and let them be AVs you'd encounter. In particular, as a contrast to the above listed characteristics of the group, to have one of the leaders be a shockingly bubbly, cheerful, and cute girl who sincerely loves humanity and the world, but has a twisted belief that because death is the ultimate thing all people have in common, that everyone will get together and be happier when everyone is dead. -
Did you ask him for a Blue Drink with an umbrella in it?

Quote:Fix'd that.I also included Minbari.
I wasn't saying copy, just inspired. I could just as easily say "vaguely feudal Japanese themed layered robes" and it would work for both, but the picture given would have been different.
You just reminded me of the other space opera I was trying to think of:
FLASH! OOooohh!
interesting space-civilization clothing there (again inspired by Asian themes with a unique touch to them) -
Personal answers to this question about the two bodies of Ghost Widow:
-cheap Foreign Knock-off
-silver Age Cloning
-Ghost widow used to have the power to make perfect copies of herself
-One is a fake
-Good twin!
-Praetorian Ghost Widow
-Steelclaw joke. -
This is even MORE confusing when you realize that in one of Scirocco's arcs you DO retrieve Ghost Widow's body FROM AN ARACHNOS BASE!
One of the bodies must be a fake! -
Oh, I'm not suggesting it for this game (or I would have put it into the suggestion forums) I'm merely asking in a general overview.

So for a long time now I've thought about what I would do if I ever made my own MMORPG (fat chance!) and one thing I thought about was that if you raised difficulty for instanced missions of yours ("instanced missions" real original, I know, but City of is what inspired me on this), enemy statistics would only marginally improve, what would improve beyond that is their AI. (Though I am aware that actually adjusting AI between difficulties would be a nightmare in coding)
The ultimate hope being that you'd basically be fighting a almost a computer controlled player and ease a transition between PvE and PvP. Of course there would be some differences, but at it's heart, an AI control system would have enemies taking cover to draw you around a corner, run off and alert friends, set ambushes, and use skills based on certain situations being met. (Situation: PC takes cover behind something. Programmed reactions: 1) Use locational Area of Effect attacks. 2) Hold position until they come out from cover. 3) plant trap)
Having Played both Left 4 Dead games, I can say that NPC AI programming has some a very nice way, so it seems possible, but to make a long story short:
Is this such a good thing?
Does a smarter NPC AI take away some of the satisfaction of overcoming a foe who is only statistically superior. Would it increase frustration in players to realize they're not being overpowered but actually out smarted by binary?
And would it really be so good to ease a transition between PVP and PVE?
tl;dr Would smart MMORPG enemies be good or bad?
Just to Clarify, this is not a suggestion for this game, rather a question on the idea of smarter enemy AIs in the genre of MMRPGs period. -
As an alternative proposal, what about a ferry system? It could work kind of like Grandville or Fault Elevators only they help you travel a horizontal distance instead of a vertical one?
Basically a main hub near the train that leads off to five different parts of the zone by entering a ship door, you exit out a ship door at the nearby destination, possibly with labels to the different areas the boat takes you to and from. Maybe a few small bus with three boats, the other two being one way trips? (By the dropping you off on a jutty, a dock, or even the water. -
Quote:*Imagines...*Those of us who have paid attention to the Rikti storylines know of their "Lineages", which seem to make up their governmental structure. The only two known so far are War and Science, so these are my questions: How many other Lineages are there, what are they called and what are their purposes?
-Lineage of Healthcare (still having trouble with that in their world)
-Lineage of Labor (Divided between Lineage of the Union and Lineage of the Company)
-Lineage of Education (The only one that had been even more under funded than the Lineage of War, even before the war)
-Lineage of Agriculture
It's going on like this... -
[Super Group] Lord Recluse: lol, just flashbacked Scirocco's arc with Mako and Black Scorpion.
[Super Group] Mako: CRY SUM MOAR!
[Super Group] Black Scorpion: Lololololololol!
[Super Group] Scirocco: ... Screw waiting GR, I'm gonna see if Nemesis army has any openings.
[Super Group] Silver Mantis: lft ERP team.
[Super Group] Lord Recluse: Logging, lunchtime!
[Super Group] Mako: I need to wash my hair!
[Super Group] Black Scorpion: Bio BBL. -

Quote:Yeah, probably, but it would open something up.you know how many would scream bloody murder if they did this, just think i13 pvp only 10 times more.
I mean resistance bonus values could be raised, and again, I'm honestly fuzzy on the numbers.
But they would still have defense numbers better than unslotted Scrapper armors and could get some moderate resistance to go with it.
Plus, non-ranged classes suffer a lot in PVP with kiting and so forth and they can't even get into range, this might be something that could help?
Well, it's probablt not a hot idea anyway, just one possible solution. -
Hmmm..
Actually, if I could make my own proposal for how to fix the rifts between defense and resistance bonuses: What if we had a hard cap on how much defense and resistance you can get out of sets?
I'm not sure about the exact numbers but how about 18% for both? -
Quote:Exactly, while Cole might have meant well, consider that he has people who are MONITORING PEOPLE'S THOUGHTS and if you are born with powers of any kind, you are forcibly drafted into service, likely no matter how weak those powers really are.I take his actions and motives with a grain of sand. He may have began good, but a resistance doesn't form for nothing.
And in both cases, you can get sent away and never heard from again.
There's martial law to keep the peace and then there's fascist tyranny. -

Quote:On the note of the taunt aura, that solution is simple, give the tankers the Brute /sr power list. Brute evasion comes at level 20 and has a taunt aura effect, scale up the taunt effect and it should be fine.I have 3 active /sr characters, and I never suggested /sr would be good for tanks, but I would love a taunt aura on /sr much like WP has.
I threw this together in 2 minutes on MiDs
Only 1 IO, the rest are just basic SOs.
*After reading your your build*
Ah, there's still the problem that Claws and Effect said without going into other powers at all. And no offense, but that did dip fairly heavily into power pools.
