2. We are still investigating issues with our NCsoft websites. Getting there. Sorry for the inconvenience it has caused you.
3. Looking into it. Sorry for the inconvenience, I know some of you have been waiting for days to get their hands on the Magic pack.
4. Due to popular demand, let's add the City of Guides in this thread.

[ QUOTE ]
City of Guides has got a fledgling resource that could prove very helpful for those trying to find good solid storyarcs and missions among the weight of arcs still being tested/refined.

One of the key features (so far) is that the arcs can be publicly reviewed and marked if they have EB's/AV's in them.

5. I've escalated the issue. Sorry for the inconvenience!
6. Thanks for posting your findings Ashuroa, I'll escalate this.
7. Stickied to help with our non English native community.
8. Stickied so more people can have the opportunity to do a Columbo or a Sherlock Holmes.
9. If an Open Beta player wants to copy their Mission Architect missions from the Training Room to the Live server at the Launch of Issue 14, here are the folders that they will need to copy.

[u]On a PC[u]

Folders:

[*]Custom_Critter [*]CustomVillainGroup [*]Missions
NOTE:

Optionally, if they have created a custom costume for a critter that they wish to use in the future and the costume was saved, they will want to copy over the following folder:

[*]costumes
However if they have saved costumes on live, they will want to just copy the contents to the costume folder into their existing costume folder.

ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE:

Please be aware that if a player copies over a Mission Architect Mission that contains unlocked Maps, villain groups or costume pieces, then they will need to unlock those locked pieces by earning the appropriate Mission Architect Ticket rewards to unlock them or remove any "errors" before re-publishing those Missions on the Live Servers.

[u]Instructions: [u]
Players will need to copy the following folders from C:\Program Files\CohTest\ to C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\

From:
C:\Program Files\CohTest\Custom_Critter
C:\Program Files\CohTest\CustomVillainGroup
C:\Program Files\CohTest\Missions
C:\Program Files\CohTest\costumes

To:
C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\Custom_Critter
C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CustomVillainGroup
C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\Missions
C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\costumes

[u]On a Macintosh: [u]

The file structure of the Mission Architect is very similar to the PC, however Macintosh users will need to go the City of Heroes Test installation within their Applications folder to find the files.
1. Within the Applications folder, the user should right-click the "City of Heroes" (Training Room version) application icon and a menu should appear,
2. The user should select "Show Package Contents' on the menu so that a new window with the contents of the "City of Heroes" application appears.
3. The user should expand the "Resources" folder
4. The user should expand the "transgaming" folder
5. The user should expand the "c_drive" folder
6. The user should expand the "coh" folder
7. Within the "coh" folder, the user will find the following folders
1. Custom_Critter
2. CustomVillainGroup
3. Missions
4. costumes
8. The user should copy the folders and their contents and place the copies on their Desktop.
9. Next, the user should go to Applications folder and find their "City of Heroes" (Live / Retail version) application icon.
10. The user should select the "City of Heroes" (Live / Retail version) and right-click it so that a menu appears.
11. The user should select "Show Package Contents' on the menu so that a new window with the contents of the "City of Heroes" application appears.
12. The user should expand the "Resources" folder
13. The user should expand the "transgaming" folder
14. The user should expand the "c_drive" folder
15. The user should expand the "coh" folder
16. The user should then copy the following folders to the "coh" directory:
1. Custom_Critter
2. CustomVillainGroup
3. Missions
4. costumes

TIP: If the user has admin rights within the Mac OS, they should verify that the folders have Read/Write access enabled on all the folders and files contained inside them for all users.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Please Note that if a player copies over a Mission Architect Mission that contains unlocked Maps, villain groups or costume pieces, then they will need to unlock those locked pieces within the Mission Architect Mission or remove any "errors" before re-publishing those Missions on the Live Servers.

11. Post your Mission Architect related guides here, the original post will be updated on regular basis to reflect most current information.
12. Hey All,

There have been a number of questions on the boards about the Dev’s Choice program and obtaining “The Chosen One” badge. We’ve decided to release a little more information to clear up some of the misconceptions about this program and give players some valuable advice on how to get their missions noticed.

Dev’s Choice is a way for us to recognize stories that represent what the Mission Architect can do best. Those stories are personally selected for Dev’s Choice based on the feedback from the Development Team and they are great for those looking for a fun mission to play.

So what do we consider when choosing between stories when deciding which should be selected for Dev’s choice?

[*]We found the arc thoroughly enjoyable to play. [*]We want to share that experience with others. [*]The arc found a balance between fun gameplay and a decent story. [*]There’s no apparent way to exploit the missions.
Having your story selected for Dev’s Choice is beneficial in a number of ways. Dev’s Choice stories do not count against your total published arcs. If you have three published arcs and one of them gets turned into Dev’s Choice, you will be able to publish a fourth. If one of those three arcs gets flagged as Dev’s Choice, you will be able to publish a fifth, and so on. These stories visually stand out in the Mission Browser, and Players can filter specifically for Dev’s Choice content. Of course, the creator of a mission selected for Dev’s Choice gets the rare and coveted “The Chosen One” badge.

Please note that because Dev’s Choice stories are hand picked by the Developers, we want to ensure that the caliber of their content persists. To that end, we lock the story permanently on our Arc Server, preserving it in its chosen state. This does not mean that you can’t change or update your story if you decide to do so after it has been selected. However, you will have to republish this story as a second story, without the Dev’s Choice standing. The original story that was chosen for Dev’s Choice will still be available to everyone.

The final question is “How do I get my story selected by the Developers?” One of the things we’ve noticed while on the Training Room is that certain stories begin to build a buzz. Players talk about them in the chat window, posts start to appear on the forums, the Community takes notice and as such, the Developers take interest. We talk about them in between meetings and over lunch. When we log in to play, we look for these stories we’ve heard about. When we play them and they fill the criteria for what we believe to be the Best of Architect, we mark it as such. Dev’s Choice missions will be chosen like this, organically. But to give you some guidelines of things that can help you get noticed, we recommend the following:

[*]Get people to play your story – offer to play their story in exchange. [*]Humbly solicit feedback and implement changes based off of what other players are saying about your content. [*]Play, rate and comment on other’s stories, this helps build a community of authors. [*]And finally there will be a forum thread called ‘Dev’s Choice: For Your Consideration’ where players can post arcs they think should be considered for Dev’s Choice. The two guidelines being, you can’t promote your own arc (that’ll likely happen in some other forum somewhere else) and you can’t disagree with anyone else’s suggestion (again, that’ll happen in some other thread).
We would also like to add that our French and German players will indeed be included in this program. Their stories will be reviewed by a team of French and German natives and the same criteria will be taken into account for the Dev’s Choice status and the corresponding “The Chosen One” badge to be awarded.

So that is the Dev’s choice program. As you can see, it is fairly simple and straightforward; we wanted a chance to reward those who write good stories and a way to point them out to everyone as content that is reliably high quality. We’re very excited about MA and can’t wait to see what you will do with it!

-The Development Team

P.S.: Damn, I wish I could bring my Controller, I'm seriously broke at the moment!
14. Have you tried contacting our Customer Support team to fix your issue?

If you use sleep effects, make sure your team know about it - slept enemies need to be attacked at once to make sure you dont get taken by suprise when they wake up.

MA forum?

We are in the process of getting a bunch of new forum sections to play with and one of them will be allocated to Mission Architect specific topics.

We'll keep you posted when it happens.
17. No idea what you are talking about in this thread, we only do serious stuff around here
18. Fixed! Probably my Monday morning "Duh!" moment, my apologies!
21. Hehe I know you're doing your best so no worries!
22. Okay, it should be fixed now, please send me a PM if you are still encountering problems accessing the PlayNC store, thank you!
23. Is anybody still encountering this issue? If so can you send me a PM with some info? Where you are accessing the site from and what you are to purchase especially.

Thanks!
