Okay, now for some silly questions that I am nevertheless quite serious about receiving an official answer to.
[*] When Manticore started out as a Trick Arrow/Archery Defender, how did he deal with "r u healr" tells?[*] So, Blue Steel has Shield Defense. What's his other powerset(s)?[*] Aside from the fact there's no pole-arm powerset, is there a reason Valkyrie uses a sword instead of that spear she always carries on her back? -
I'd rather see a CSI: Paragon City.
Longbow Eagle: Ah, man. Captain Mako really did a number on this guy.
Back Alley Brawler: I'd say...he's bitten off more than he can chew.
YEEEEEEEEAH! -
Who did the voice of Statesman and Tyrant? That VA sounds familiar.

[ QUOTE ][*] load-bearing boss that triggers a base self-destruct sequence, complete with countdown
[/ QUOTE ]
We've already got that in the last mission of the Ernesto Hess TF. When you take out Archon Burkholder, you get a countdown that, if you're still inside when it hits 0, blasts you for damage on par with the exploding burning buildings.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh. Disregard, then. I'm not much of a TF/SF guy. -
[*] rolling boulder of death that spawns upon collecting an artifact[*] load-bearing boss that triggers a base self-destruct sequence, complete with countdown[*] one of those bombs where you have to place the cutters around one of the wires, then change your mind and decisively cut the other one with only a few seconds left on the clock

Dang it, you people are as easy to troll as Oprah Winfrey. JUST STOP REPLYING.

It sounds like a cool idea, but I'm not sure many people would get much use out of the temp powers or emotes.
Assuming they actually hang out with real life people on their birthday, that leaves only about what, 2-3 hours to play with them? -

Also, How about this: Remember last years April Fools joke? Replacing sound with comic sound effects? Put that in the game as a 'Hearing Impaired' option. The glowie detector could operate when that mode is in effect, but not when it isn't.

THIS THIS THIS. It'd also help out the deaf PvPers! -
Give the Brief pattern back to armored legs.

Assuming the miscellaneous power(Repair for Robotics or Gang War for Thugs) would be part of the pet subset, and that you couldn't respec to a different pet subset, this sounds cool.
Of course, there could be a possibility of overpoweredness from a Robotics/Force Fields Mastermind with Dark Blast ToHit debuffs, and the slight lack of incentive for taking the lethal damage attack subsets. -
[*] Add a rare mob to the Spetsnaz Commandos that is a better reflection on the real-life Spetsnaz that were employed by the Soviet Union. For example, he would use attacks like ambushing you from the ceiling, or hurling a hatchet at you while he does a backflip.
[*] Add an Ouroboros Task and/or Strike Force where you team up with historical figures like Theodore Roosevelt or Nikola Tesla, and even some more obscure badasses like Jack Churchill, the British soldier who carried a bow and a sword into combat during World War II.
[*]It's cool that the Outcasts have members representing the elements of Earth, Fire, Wind and Water, but where are the guys with the power of Heart? -
Whoops, forgot about this thread.
[*] An honest-to-God UniqueDragon Task Force where you fight to prevent the Warriors from sealing a deal with the Jerk Hackers(the Jerk Hacker AV would naturally be a Fire/Rad)
[*]fruit pie-related missions in the Newspaper/Police Radio
[*]Weapon Customization for the Warriors -
/e lighter: You hold up a lighter like some people do at rock concerts
/e shudder: For when you see or hear something really disturbing
/e airguitar: A riff out of nowhere would make it excellent
/e flash: For costume changes! What did you think I meant? -
Yeah, I gotta disagree with yet another accolade that requires PvP, but if you can make it less painful, Dragon Slayer/Draconic would be the best badge ever..at least until they make a Destroyer of Worlds accolade for villains.
-
Please note: This thread is not for dead horses like power customization, server merging, walking, or vehicles. In addition, we already have threads for powerset and costume suggestions.
[*] A PvP zone based on action movie tropes next to a body of water called Michael Bay
[*] Wilhelm Scream proc
[*] Replace the Science origin with the SCIENCE! origin -

I don't mean to sound negative, but when's the last time Lady_Athyna or LiquidX actually appeared in the City Scoop?
[/ QUOTE ]
Requests have appeared in nearly every scoop discussion thread, but there seems to be no interest from the readers to actually submit any questions. We have been asking for reader participation, without which the articles dry up.
Athy has continued to do Horoscopes (the last was a few weeks ago before the program she was using started to have problems). LiquidX's last was a couple of months, but like I said, he needs people to ask the questions before he can answer them.
One of the staff position requests I see a lot in PMs is to do an advice column. We have two already gathering dust, I don't want to add 3-4 more. If people want to read advice columns, people should start submitting questions to Liquid and Athyna.

Oh...darn masses. I'll do what I can, then. -

Here's a good tip for dealing with people who just come across as belligerent morons(like people trying to h4x0r your robot character, or "heroes" who try to rip peoples' arms off in the Pocket D).
Just ignore them. Do not acknowledge their existence in any way. RP DOES NOT MAKE GRIEFERS GO AWAY. -
Kahlan D'Rane forgot a really important question...how does Manticore(being a Trick Arrow/Archery Defender) deal with "r u healr" tells?
-
Is this guy saying he would've preferred that we DIDN'T get a new defensive set at all in i11? Or worse, waiting until 2008 for i11?
-
I'm certainly hoping they put a contact or gate to the Ouroboros people in a less-used zone. Let's examine the disparities between Atlas Park and Galaxy City, shall we?
Atlas Park[*]Sewer Network entrance(which Galaxy City lacks)[*]'The Hollows' gate[*]Wentworth's and Vault Storage[*]Vanguard DPO(with Rikti War Zone portal)[*]Recluse's Victory portal[*]City Representative, who gives out the Cape and Aura missions
Galaxy City[*]Arena[*]Jack Wolfe, who lets you use your earned Respecs
Yeah... -
I get around the problem of "heroes based in the Rogue Isles" by admitting that Admiral Sunshine(Dark/Dark Stalker) DOES have a criminal record from his time in the Isles.
And as regards the topic of self-described "Mature Roleplayers"...in my experience(your mileage may vary), almost all of them can be classified in one of three groups:
[*]Horndogs (like scantily-clad feline hybrid females with Hinden-breasts or lonely males with the mutant power of pheremone emission "lol wan2 cyb0rz?")[*]Snobs ("Your character is silly, low-brow and stupid. GTFO")[*]Emo Kids (says some variant of "my redneck bible-thumping family tried to kill me when my mutant powers manifested" IN EVERY SINGLE CONVERSATION, and/or creates RP situations of great ANGST and SORROW that are completely unresolvable and are only there as some ill-thought-out attempt to solidify "Mature RP" cred).
If these opinions anger you, you should probably examine yourself a little closer. Also, this mostly applies to people who think they actually have to say they're mature roleplayers. -
I hope they give us an excellent air guitar emote in this issue. But...if there's no accompanying sound effect, that'd be totally bogus.

This isn't D&D.
We already have an arrow doing as much damage as a machine gun. It's a convention of the comic book genre that all attacks have the same basic damage. You might as well ask why don't villains just shoot Batman in the face.
[/ QUOTE ]
Pretty much. Lets take a look at the Carnie Rapier and Rikti Sword, for example:
In that example, the person using the Carnie Rapier might have had it specially enchanted to make it more damaging. Or they might have had years of training, giving them the innate ability to strike at an enemies weak points, allowing them to do far more damage then the guy wielding the Rikti Sword. The Rapier may be a physical manifestation of the persons Spiritual Energy, only making it *LOOK* like a Carnie Rapier (But still providing massive damage)...
There are plenty of justifiable reasons for why it may happen, and CoH/V *allows* us to give any reason we want. Just like comic books.
[/ QUOTE ]
And on the other hand...maybe the Rikti Sword is a cheap imitation made using instructions found on the Internet. It's how I sometimes explain my Nemesis Staff's low accuracy and lack of disorient.
