Team Leader: I'm sorry but this particular league is a scheduled SG event for members only. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

GM then proceeds to close the petition with no action being taken.
THIS. The more realistic thing that would happen. I agree.

Bill already addressed this, but how in the heck is it automatically elitism to want to team with specific people? Elitism implies this is due to a feeling of being better, when it's more often a case of "hey, I'm doing this with friends and only friends."
Don't you know that we've all been doing it wrong for 7 years. Teaming with your friends only, makes you horrible bad, bad person. In fact the global and server freinds list should be nuked from orbit as they allow you to grief people by not automatically accpeting blind invites.

Was that sarcasm a bit much?

This. I think the person who thinks this would actually happen is high. . .

I also think the GM who gets such a petition request would also be Laughing their *** off reading it.

It's as silly as someone petitioning someone for killing you in a pvp zone.

Taking team control away from the players is always a horrid idea on its face.
    Agreed.

The OP's story is lamentable, but fully within the rules and fully intended. The only thing that the OP can do is make a note about that league leader.
Completely agree with Evil and Memphis Bill on the these points. Kicking anyone out of any content is not griefing.

I also like the points made related to being a league leader.
  6. Sounds good! And thanks for listening to feedback on revamped zones.

Story and game-play are completely controlled by the devs.

If they wanted to they could trun around and say after Issue 23 they are developing content that allows you to side with Cole.

There's only ONE reason I can think of why this can't be done, and can only be done as part of a data import; the account name is part of the primary key.

IF that's the case, then whoever designed the database needs to taken out back and summarily shot. You NEVER use a textual descriptive field such as a name, as a primary key. It breaks just about every rule of database design there is!
I assume they didn't really care back 2004 or 2005. They just wanted to get it up and running when the game started.

I simply wish I knew why it had to go from 2 to 3 to OVER 8 hours a week just to post updates. Think about it, 2-3 to over 8 what the HE##??? OK I feel a little better.

ohh PS guys just for you sticklers!! it has "EVERYTHING" to do with 7 years of COH. USED to be 2-3 NOW 7 freaken years later its 8.
The more complex a game gets . . . the more complex it gets.

And it's NOT 8 hours a week to patch. It's about 4 for a patch and MAYBE 4 for a maintenance. On the weeks that there are no patch there is no downtime on that Tuesday. Weekly maintenance has been on Thursdays for AGES now.

I'd rather have them take the time to make sure everything is working DURING THE WEEK then having the game crash constantly during mmo players prime-time: THE WEEKEND.

Also we JUST had issue 20 arrive (about a month now), so there need to be some stability patches and bug fixes for that. I'm perfectly fine with that, as there are some things that need to fixed such as the lag.

Not the same comparison in the slightest.

They told you AHEAD OF TIME that sometimes the service would not be available due to having to do maint. Ofcourse no one ever reads the EULA (but that's not their problem).

The same comparison would be them telling you ahead of time the a certain booster power won't be available all the time.

The folks that stated this are spot on.

If you get down to 0 HP, your health and end refill automatically, just as though you'd been rezzed by an empath on the spot. No one ever dies again, and everyone is happy...except for the people who have and use their enemy affecting rez powers.

I know, a pop up that asks you if you WANT to be defeated! That would work great! That way the people who want to use RotP or Soul transfer still get to, and the people that want no penalties to apply don't ever have to die!

And, no, I'm not actually serious about this.
I think the death penalty we have is fine as is.

But will leave it at that.

For me, that last book's opening starts you out hoping that things might work out okay, and then quite literally throws you in the pit of despair (with no Princess Bride, rasping voiced Albino to make you grin about it... slightly). The three are entirely alone and lonely, and Ron leaving is about ten times worse than the other issues he has occasionally had with Harry in previous books.

That's not tedious, that's as sad and hopeless as life can get... a powerful statement, especially for many kids books and Hollywood stories these days, which have difficulty making things dark in a worthwhile way (other than being "gritty"). Getting to that point is depressing, yes (I was feeling like things were even more hopeless than after Dumbledore died), but something that makes the book work so well. When the Horcrux is destroyed, things feel like they are going up even when a certain important someone dies. The heights and hope that the seventh book has are not possible without those depths of despair we have to go through. Despair is not fun to go through, I know, but it is needed for the story, and not tedious. Tedious =/= not wanting to go through something.

As far as construction and pacing goes, I think the sixth and the seventh books are probably the best of the series. Books four and five were nice, but felt a little bloated and meandering, even if I liked a lot of the details they had. The last two books are quite driven despite having a lot going on in them, and I would say are the best of the lot.
I think JKR could have had all that and not made the last book as badly-paced as it was. I consider the 7th book to be great but by far NOT the best paced book of the series. It also helped to solidify my dislike of the Dumbledore character. Not for his finally revealed history, but for everything he DIDN'T tell ALOT of people (not just Harry). Had he actually OPENED his frigging mouth to a few more folks (perhaps 1 to 3 more) a lot of the crap that happened in the 7th book could have been prevented.

I clearly understand WHY he went about it the way he did (especially in regards to Harry), but I DISAGREE strongly with MANY of the HOWs.

Before the last patch I would only lag a little at the prisoner phase now the lag is much worse and extends to other parts of the trial.

I even get that same type of power lag (but to a lesser degree) during the final fight. With several level 50 toons that I would like to take thorugh the trials, this is getting very frustrating. It makes me want to stop playing, or at the least say screw the trials.

I would laugh my *** off if it was something to do with the calculations for "particpation" causing the lag. Honestly that is probably not the case and I really don't care what the cause is. From a player sandpoint, the lag makes that trial un-fun and it needs to be fixed.
The worst part is since everyone is doing the trials, and threads only drop from them, if you don't do them there is no way to advance your incarnates. So everyone is a captive of the lag.

Even when people were referring to me (amusingly) as a "fanboy," it wouldn't take long for anyone paying attention to see I'm quite free with criticism. Why criticize and "really speak my mind?" Because I want the game to be better.

The world isn't black and white. I can criticize something I love. Sometimes (admittedly a lot more, recently) harshly.
    This.

Put it this way: If I (and probably others) get to the point where we no longer care to offer criticism or what the devs are doing, that's when you can expect (some of) us to simply hit the quit button. No goodbye posts, no selling stuff, simply quit.

The fact that we are still critical and offer suggestions (sometimes admittedly harshly) or review/mention what didn't go right or was abandoned (pvp, bases, AE) means we still care.

As others have said, I love this game and what the devs stated in that last chat that is coming in the future. Doesn't mean I won't speak my mind when something isn't working right or has an OBVIOUS bug (the reward system for the trials currently for instance).

If people don't like that the forums have a function they can use to stop seeing my (and any others) posts. Nothing wrong with that.

I quipped to people at the time that I could have rendered the frames by hand and kept up with my power recharge and ability to move after activating a power.

This broke dramatically with the most recent patch. It was nothing like this on the prior patch level.
    Agreed.

    New zone?!

I'm down with a new zone.

However, I would prefer some revamps. This idea that they can't revamp a new zone because of the Praetoria story focus is silly as hell. Seeing how this is a war, only someone with very limited imagination could say that you couldn't tie the Praetorian war into having to revmap a zone or two. Luckily the devs are not as limited as some posters in this thread/forum.

Hint for the slow: In a war areas of cities and countries are often destroyed.
