    THIS!!!!

As I've said before I'm fine withe them trying nearly everything to make money via their store. Why? The game needs money to function/develop/expand. Simple as that.

That doesn't mean that I have to buy everything they offer. But it does mean when I see something I would never buy or that I think others won't buy, or can be improved, I'll say so.

Honestly, if the costume pieces were available for some price on the paragon market I think the objections to super packs would drop tremendously.

EDIT: With that said how would I improve the Super packs? Put a random chance in them for an orange or purple recipe to drop. 40% chance for an orange, 25% chance for a purple. I'd buy plenty of super packs with something like that in it. (And yes I can already hear the epic level of hollering others are about to make when they read my suggestion.)

As to the bolded part the fact that there are going to be other costume sets (or other rewards) in that tier (which we've known from the get go) is enough reason for me to NEVER spend my extras on the random super packs. I'd rather save my tokens for the other Tier 9 goodies coming.

Will everyone else think this way? We'll see.

lol I saw this question coming the second he made that statement.

I like the idea that a mad scientist can make perfectly productive things that arn't automatically eeeviiiillll on occasion.

But that would be cool with us stepping "backstage" into a Tron-like environment full of code and digital information and whatnot.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't AE a project of BOTH Dr. Aeon and Crey Corp?

I can see them copying the "data" about various heroes who use it for illegitimate means while still having AE as a legitimate business.

    Just saying.

    EDIT:
    Actually I'm not wrong:

Architect Entertainment is a company created by Dr. Thaddeus Aeon AQSA, with Crey Industries funding. The prime motive of the company is to bring opportunity to all citizens of Paragon City and the Rogue Isles to create their very own pockets of theoretical existence for others to experience first hand as a new form of entertainment.
Key factors in the origins of the company include:
Possibility of new perspective on how to deal with Professor Echo.
Revenge on Television for forcing Dr. Aeon to write a scientific report encouraging everyone to watch more television.
To follow up the commercial success of NutriPaste.
Dr Aeon and Positron have both noted individually that Architect has the potential for great beneficial and humanitarian results throughout the world.

I didn't say it was an entirely new idea, just that it was Paragon attempting to do something different. They're trying to explore revenue models, after all, and that qualifies as attempting to innovate within their market space.

The same logic you use here could be used to argue that Paragon should never have attempted the Freedom model, because it was 'less successful' for some competition.

You can't look at something from another context and use its success or failure to judge something similar in a different context. We don't have another City of Heroes to permit us control and experimental samples, so we have to do that here.
Errr, Void_Huntress, the Freedom model was VERY sucessful for nearly all the competition that tired it. In fact this game's direct competition would have closed down completely if not for them going to that model. That's not a very good argument to use, though I see your point. I'm down with them trying new things, as I've said before (including things my wallet wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole). However if I think something won't make that much money I'll say so. They are still welcome to try. I'm not completely unreasonable.

For me personally I like to know exactly what I'm getting with my money. I don't gamble in real life and I don't gamble in game either. This isn't inf. This is real money I'm spending, or in this case choosing not to spend.

To me, that's enough of a reason to err on the side of caution - you should always be keeping an eye on what the competition is doing, but if you're pulling ahead then the #1 lesson you can learn from them is what pitfalls to avoid. You shouldn't be trying to mimic their behaviour.
BTW, for that competitor players also complained LOUDLY about the random aspect of certain items being in their versions of the packs.

There is nothing in these packs that would get me to buy them ever.

The costume pieces i await being available elsewhere also. But I'm not too much excited about them with what they've shown so far.

Putting them as a Tier 9 reward is an okay idea.

With what the person you quoted listed, I don't consider that screwing up the zone. And unless I'm mistaken the only praetorian thing in there might be Diabolique's trial. And her story is trying to become Death Incarnate, nothing to do with Praetoria.

Now if this is another rant about the fog, the fog can go pound sand. It was annoying for travel there. The annoyance of that versus actually getting a REASON to go there . . . I'd do without the fog.

    /shrugs YMMV.

As you can see from my first line I agree. However I expect to see spoilers in this part of the forums. Hell the fact that Paragon Wiki is talked about constantly (where any player who is curious about what it is, can be insta spoiled about a lot of things if they go there) I think is an issue enough.

But alas, at least we didn't get a new currency, so I can run the few iTrials I find more fun than the others until the small team option is available.
I'm pretty much nearing the point where I'm done with the Incarnate system until I22. Standing around for 20 minutes waiting for ANYTHING to form in Pocket D or Virtue is tiresomely retarded.

Can't wait for small teams or solo content to arrive.

No more anime-inspired martial artists, let's have more superheroes - say, in the vein of Iron Fist.

I hope this post illustrates how important it is to have the right costume pieces when achieving a truly superheroic look.
    bwhahahhahaha. I c wut u did there!

EDIT: With that said Johnny's list is good to go as far as I'm concerned.

And yes devs, we know some of those things listed won't be easy or fast to make.
  16. I honestly think posting Spoiler in the title is not a bad thing.

HOWEVER, in a place on the forums where game mechanics are generally talked about and so is lore almost on a DAILY basis, it's nigh impossible to not run into something you didn't know if you weren't a new player of the game.

I agree with Venture in this case. If you don't want to know something about the game that would be a spoiler I'd urge folks to be slightly cautious about reading COH & COV general discussion. The title of this section of the forums almost screams for stuff folks didn't know and don't want to know yet, being easily found.

General discussion about the game is NOT just about game mechanics. Which btw some folks may not want to be spoiled about either, should we then be careful about not talking about game mechanics? Or how about the discussions about Paragon Wiki? Serious question here, where do we draw the line?

Not being able to craft it for Zube, and having no dual-pistols characters, I sold it at WW's. I got 970,000,000 for it (77 million fee)

    Previous sales records were:
    150,000,000
    400,000,000
    350,000,000

    Only 4 have ever sold.
Not at all surprising. It's costume recipes of old all over again.

With how much the TPN won't be run, I can see these things being extremely rare and hitting the 1 bill inf cap. Easily.

My guess is that we'll also be able to run that stuff with small teams if you want. *shrugs*

    I'm all ears here...

EDIT: You added to your post after I posted this. So you want a bunch of small team content? What if I think epic "comic book" battles are better represented by massive 24 member leagues all working on a single trial?
You mean like the dreck like crisis of the 5th crisis of 6th earth of the new crisis to end all crises that comic books are currently stuck in. (aka event fatigue).

yeah I don't think that type of of thing is something that folks should point to as epic. I'd actually argue a lot of comic readers are tired of it.

If you got a frothy or elitist league leader the problem lies with them not with the trial. There really isn't anything in this game, aside from Master runs (and even then) that needs that much of a flawless execution for it to succeed. No reason to get so worked up about it. Yes sometimes trials fail. That happens when stuff is new and people are unfamilliar with it.

MoM might have just supplanted Keyes as my favorite trial, TPN completes the top 3.

Good job devs. Keep them coming.
Once they fix some of the bugs the trials should be fine.

Personally I'm more looking forward to the DA lvl 50+ content. They can keep THAT coming. Counting the upcoming Diabolique one, we have enough trials for now.
