We must still keep the thgt of everyone has there opinion on how they like to play. We cannot have the attitude of play like this or else. Every player plays differently, and has the right. We keep forgetting its the company we keep that really makes it fun. If we logged in, and was the only player how long would we enjoy this game.

I had never been more happier than the birth of AE, broadcast chat was on fire. The line lft was hotter than sewer team forming pssst. We loved each others company, piled in that building with no room to flap a wing. Sorry redside its always been the way it is I love it.

Honestly do we run each other over with mac truck blinking cursor. I say it isn't fair to beat him up for running the arc so many times, no matter how weird.
Interesting as from what I remember MOST folks HATED AE and the b-cast "spam" as they called it.

They hated it so much that they mobbed Posi when he came onto the live servers during the anniversary event with shouts that they hated the b-cast spam and AE farming. These were folks IN-GAME, not forum goers.

Also there was thread after thread of folks saying they hated it. So much so that the mods where working over time to lock them. From what I got most folks did NOT like the AE farming going on.

    You have an . . . interesting . . . memory of history.

But that's just one man's opinion.
Count me in that opinion as well. I can even say that after saying that the devs should offer new low level (confirmed for GR) and upper level content (hinted at for GR).

Now matter how epic that stuff is, if you run it 4 times in a row, it WILL get stale.

I honestly think we'll see SOME of Zombie's list and NOT ANY new story content till GR comes out. There is so much work being done on GR I just can't see them having the time to do anything else major for now.

I agree, judge based on what's there. So far what's there I like. Someone can say so far what's there they don't like. However SOME folks are making the idiotic and silly assumption that GR is all that was shown at HeroCon. Not the OP, but some others I've seen on these forums and in game. Yeah let's using to freaking logic folks and not make ourselves look ignorant. They've stated that there will be 5 zones. So folks are saying that all of GR will be 5 zones with content for levels 1-20. That's silly!

I'm not even going to get into the whole art discussion because that's even more subjective than what I just posted above. Needless to say there is NOT one set definition of the word "art". That is all.

tl;dr: art is in the eye of the beholder, and all of COH:GR has not been revealed yet. If you like it fine, if you don't fine. But don't assume that's all that's going to be in Going Rogue.
  14. Yeah forgot about the Halloween event. Going to let stuff sit afterall. Did relist the few that had both 0 bidders and 0 sold/selling for 1 inf as advised upthread.

Don't know if it's as simple as doubling though, we had a level 42 +2 enemies villain team that spawned a 47 Numina in the conclusion of a patron arc, that was all kinds of not fun, especially when her incomings started as well...

And (from "Post Going Rogue Info Here" thread)
    • Once they reach level 20 (or before?), they can choose to go to Paragon City and be a Hero, or go to the Rogue Isles and be a villain, even if they chose to side with the opposite faction in Praetoria (my bolded point)

This seems to suggest that Loyalists/Resistance is NOT Vigilantes/Rogues. It's a totally different and independent system which is, yes, unique to Praetorians. Posi says in the first bullet that Praetorians don't use the usual side shifting mechanism. Whether he means they don't use it at first, or don't use it until they leave Praetoria and become a Hero or Villain isn't clear. But until they do, they already are neither a Hero nor a Villain, they are already in the grey area. All the normal system would do is force them to choose a side, and then work to get back to the neutral state again.

Actually, I look at the Loyalist/Resistance storylines as being more like Origins. It determines which Contacts a Preatorian gets and what missions he is assigned. But he can keep switching sides as much as he want, which will probably effect his path through the missions. Either way, though, he's still a Praetorian, he doesn't become either a Hero or Villain until he decides to do that by going beyond his home missions and Contacts.
    Interesting.

Where did you get that last point from? It doesn't look like it's in Posi's frist clarification point.

Anyway it will be interesting to see how they handle this.

My gut however is telling me that you won't be able to make a lvl 1 brute appear in Paragon City or a lvl 1 hero appear in the Rogue Isles, simply because it takes some amount of content to finally shift your "morality meter" to the appropriate faction. The devs have been saying choosing/switching to a side won't be a quick thing. Being able to do that with the Praetorian work around wouldn't make sense with those statements.

0 bidding and 1245 available, for a recipe is a clue to just vendor it.
I'm getting to the point of vendoring all but the deep brown stuff. And even in some cases the supposedly rare stuff just isn't moving. Next time I'm in game I'll make a list.

That isn't as prevalent a problem blue side. I haven't sold any of those yet.

But, my 'hotspot' niches are ticking over nicely. Just have to be more cautious on the BM.
Goat I'm not talking about market niches or games. I'm talking about basicaly listing something like a Crushing Impact from 1 mil (with the last 5 going for like 3mil to 5mil). In other words just trying to get rid of stuff to free up market slots.

I have stuff up that hasn't moved in days, in some instances WEEKS. And I've priced them waaaay down with the intention just to get rid of them.

At this point I'm about to just delete them. As it looks like there just aren't enough buyers. Also want to point out again some items have a listing of 0 bidding and 1245 available.

So it really depends on how long this takes. If you can skip the tutorial and walk through a portal at level 1 into Atlas Park, then yes, you can create a Brute as a Hero from level 1. You just have to do a little travelling.

On the other hand, there is some question as to what the devs mean by "choose if [you] want to be considered a Hero or Villain". We don't know for sure that a Praetorian who walks into Paragon City is EXACTLY like a pure Hero, accessing Wentworths and getting missions from one of the five departments in City Hall. If Praetorians have to wait for level 10 or 20 before they can enter Paragon City, they might be like Villiains who have switched over and become Heroes, having to pick up with a new set of Contacts somehow.

Likewise, we don't really know how Loyalists and Resistance fit into this. Positron called the Loyalists the villains and Resistance the heroes, but supposedly this is independent of which side you can choose outside of Preatoria. So does it effect which Market you use? I noticed in the video it said that you choose Loyalist or Resistance before you even leave the tutorial, so apparently it is impossible to not have a "side". Yet, it says here there are "points within their stories" where you can switch sides, so apparently you can keep switching between the Resistance and Praetorian Guard as often as you like.
    That's . . . not how I understood it.

This bullet point: This system is usable by any character over X level (X is a number which has yet to be disclosed). It is not "just for Praetorians".

Tells me that the level at which you choose to be this or that ISN'T going to be anywhere near level 1.

My point being specifically sure you can switch as much as you want, but the PURE Loyalists and PURE Resistance (as in born in Praetoria) won't be able to go to Paragon or Rogue Isles till level something or other, when they DECLARE that they are a hero or villain. From the wording above it sounds like that declaration CAN'T happen at level 1, since that would lock you into a side from the get go. However as you pointed out a loyalist or resistance can become a paragon hero, paragon villain, rogue isles villain or rogue isles hero.

I think that graphics are pretty important. Not to me, PERSONALLY, but they are important.

Art-style is also key. Which is why some folks can't stand playing WoW, no matter that almost any comp can run the game.

EDIT: It's also one of the reasons I have stopped playing CO, even though my brother bought me a 6 month sub. I thought the art-style would grow on me. It most assuredly has done the opposite. Maybe it was cause beta was limited to only two days a week or so, but for some reason it didn't bother me then. Now I can't stand the art-style, outlines off or not.

Whereas some like it's art-style more than this game's.

    To each their own.

seriously, I'm still shaking my head at anyone who thought the devs would make GR JUST 1-20 and have the gall to call it an expansion.

    Good points.

Honestly I would not mind if you could start a kheld or veat in Praetoria. BUT the way the side switching system is set up I don't think that's what they want.

From what I'm getting you can't start a pure level 1 hero or villain in Pratoria. Thus why it doesn't make sense from THAT standpoint as to why you can't start as a pure lvl 1 kheld or pure veat in Prateria.

In Prat there technically are no heroes or villans, there are only vigilantes and rogues

EDIT: Here is Posi's original post again.

    • Heroes can become Vigilantes which can then become Villains
    • Villains can become Rogues which can then become Heroes
    • Thus the circle is Hero->Vigilante->Villain->Rogue->Hero
    • This system is usable by any character over X level (X is a number which has yet to be disclosed). It is not "just for Praetorians".
    • A Hero can go all the way to Villain and then back to Hero again, if they put in enough effort.
    • Praetorians do not use the normal GR system, but have points within their stories where they can choose "Loyalist (aka Villain)" or "Resistance (aka Hero)"
    • When Praetorians leave Praetoria for Primal Earth, they choose if they want to be considered a Hero or a Villain, and are plopped into Paragon or the Rogue Isles.
    • A Vigilante (Rogue) can travel to the Rogue Isles (Paragon City), and can team up with the Villains (Heroes) there. They can not use the markets while they are there however. They must be a full Villain (Hero) to use the markets.
Correct if I'm wrong but no where does it say you can start as a pure lvl 1 villain or hero in Preatoria. Pure as in I can access the rogue isles or paragon from lvl 1.

EDIT 2: Also re-reading how the "switch" happens, it confirms for me that the devs are most certainly NOT going to make side switching easy. As in doing 1 tf IS NOT going to earn you the right to switch sides no matter how fast you do the tf.
  24. Okay, what the hell is up with the redside market?

I've had some stuff listed since last friday that just won't move. And this stuff is like selling for a fraction of what the last 5 was.

Is the population of redside THAT low?

During the AE farm area I seem to remember stuff moving the next morning.
Could the lack of more 50s be and lower pop be having an effect?

I also see some items listed with hundreds for sale and ZERO buyers.
