I must be mission something (possible because I have not done Halloween events before), but besides a NPC that is offering a extra costume slot for some Halloween low, I have seen nothing besides a GM in Warburg (at least I got that badge) an I only found out about that because I got a invite to a team.
    And so far I have not seen any alerts of zombie spawns on the event canal. At least they could be as common as the Ritki invasions.
  2. More enhancement slots might be possible at some point, but not anytime even remotely close. I am sure most of us know a place or two where we would like just one more.

  5. I have had a few missions where the longbow minions have been fighting one another. With no confuse powers being used.
    And once in the breakout bomb placing mission I was ambushed by convicts.

    Oh and usually if I click the level up icon on my villains I am told to go see a trainer like Ms. Liberty in Atlas Park.

    Hay, it not illegal for a villain to hold out hope, especially when the dev team appear to be trying to give us what we want.

    And to get back on topic:
    Some kind of set based off drones, devises and traps might work for a heroic AT. Like force field generators, targeting drones, stun mines (trip mine with stun rather the damage), that annoying foam AoE the some of the PGPD uses in mayhem missions, a sonic version of Acid Mortar, Flashbang grenades, and such (for a tech variant).
    Come to think of it.. add some dual pistols, and a personal stealth power, and you could have nice agent AT fitting for both sides.

  8. Even a single non controllable pet makes a huge difference to the two AT’s that get them at 32 (controllers and dominators). Adding the possibility of getting more permanent pets throe pools would properly be overpowering.

    Other then that, you could always wait for the going rogue system.

    Ok first off, just because a new superhero MMO is released does not mean ‘City of’ will close. Just look at UO, It launched a long time ago, and despite many fantasy mmo’s launching sin then, it is still running.

    As for NC Soft buying the ‘City of’ franchise, I do not know for sure. However owing the franchise gives them much better control. It is always much better being the developer and publisher, rather then just the publisher.
  10. Personally, I would love a toggle with fly protection, so that I would be harder to knock out of the air. Maybe even a bit of defense in it (range / AoE).

    An AoE knockdown might be a bit to much, to useful when you are flying just above ground. But a mid range PBAoE with -fly -jump (but no knockdown) could serve the same function while in the air. And could be used to keep flying mobs from escaping throe the air.

  12. I would not say that. When the lawyers comes complaining over collateral damage, you just give them a pair of cement shoes, and a swimming lessen. Oh and heroes have to be some worth polite to journalists and politicians, no amount of praises are worth that!

  13. Assailant my main and a brute. such a nice villain name, and I took it right after open beta of CoV, and have remade him several times since. It was the kind of name I would imagine written in big bold letter in newspaper head lines. You can properly se it as well, “Assailant strikes again”, “Assailant robs bank”...
    Then there is the variations of him. Arcane Assailant (another brute in progress) and Shadow Assailant (reserved for when I get around to make a stacker).

    Then there is my old main character, Supressor. Grav/Nrg dominator. It was meant to be a robot build as a crowd control tool (hence the name), that malfunctioned. Should have been electric assault, but that was not available when I made him.

    Scorched Earth: originally meant to be a Fire/Fire dominator, but is now a Earth/Fire dominator. Named after the military tactic of destroying and burning everything the enemy might use as you slowly retreat. Quite fitting for a villain, I think.

    Dark Facilitator: Sonic/Thermal coruptor. The concept of the charter was a team buffer/healer. Someone who would help other achieve their dark deeds, under the motto “it does not matter who does evil, as long as evil is done”. Dark helper did not sound right, so I wend for a synonym dictionary looked up help and found facilitate, and changed the ending.

    Greenbrier is reserved for when I get around to make a plants/? dominator. It is a creeper vine, that is sometimes descried as “Natures own barbed wire from hell” due to the difficulty involved in getting rid of it. Againe something I find befitting a villain.
  14. 1) Change war hammer for brutes to two handed animations. The one handed animations does not look that brutish.

    2) Remove the fitness pool, and improve the base regain and recovery 75% for everyone to compensate. They are way too necessary for most power sets and builds.

    3) Generally replace AoE sleeps with AoE stuns. I know it is not that specific, but I have never seen an AoE sleep used to even a decent effect.
  15. The whole blind auction thing is starting to annoy me. As far as I can se it only really benefit the ones that buy up salvage and recipes for less then what they can be sold for at a quartermaster.
    A more stable market and more transparent prices would benefit casual players a lot more.

    Therefore I suggest that rather then seeing the 5 last sale prices, we would be shown the 5 lowest sale prices and the 5 highest buy offers, when selling or buying. And then offer an instant buy/sell option. Then if we did not like the instant buy/sell price we could adjust the price we typed in based on the prices shown (for example place our sale 1 Inf below the lowest sales price).
    When buying we can technically achieve an “instant buy” anyway, if we keep making an offer and then canceling it, increasing the price by 1 Inf at the time. But that way is tiresome, and creates an unnecessary amount of data traffic to the auction server.

    Also the 10% sales fee should be paid entirely at the sale, rather then 5% when putting an item up and 5% at the sale. That way sellers could adjust their price as well, with out loosing Inf.

  16. The Brute in me cries “SMASH” and would advice me to jump right in. there is just something about a virtually un-winable fight that is so appealing.
  17. The option to consolidate several SG’s might also help breath new life in to servers that are less active.

    Rikti raids

    Several times in the rogue isles I have gone to a zone with a riot and have it feel empty. Sure with a level 50 brute I can destroy a few bombs and defeat any Rikti that attacks me (other then the darn transports).
    This is often something I note when several zones are under attack at the same time. Outside prime time there are not always enough interested players to fight off a raid in 2 or 3 zones at once.
    With low numbers of players present the Rikti’s raids can be kind of boring.

    I would personally prefer it if the Rikti only ever raided one zone at the time. Unless of cause a large number of players was present in the zone. It would concentrate the players that want to fight the Rikti, and at the same time solve the problem mentioned in the original post (at least for the heroes)
  19. The current alternatives are not all that good for the game either. Like having a low level character grouped and SKed to a level 50, to prevent XP gain. At least it is not good for anyone trying to run patrols in the zone for their "Kill 30 [insert mob]" missions.

    2. No not avoiding badges based on awarding, but awarding un-locks. As in a contact like the slot machine, or the tomy-gun assault rifle. Any other character on the account would get the unlock as well, but not the badge.
    Of cause in this example the gun should be awarded both sides, but the contact really only have meaning on one side. Though if the heroes had an identical badge with a contagt any hero side character should get the hero side contact un-locked.
  21. Not to mention the skulls boss badge... I do not even think it is possible to complete that one by running skulls missions on a team with out getting out of the level range where you can get skulls missions from the news paper. Same for the trolls and warrior badges, that like many of them seemed adjusted to the hazard zoned of CoH.

    Maybe if unlocking contacts and costume peaces was done on an account level, it would be more interesting. New charters would not have the badge but would have the contact/weapon. That way each charter would make more contend available for the following charter, thus promoting further altoholisme.
  22. So far My Sonic/Thermal is level 18. And the primary appears to matter less. When the brown stuff hits the fan, using my AoE heal and anticipating who will need the ST heal most when it is ready next is kind of a full time occupation

    One thing about the shields though... It can be hard to see on the team window who is still buffed, but so far I have not teamed with another /thermal, so seeing who’s charters are on fire solves that.

    For anyone else though I would suggest a different primary. Most fights are simply to short to make –res matter much. But maybe that will change though when I start facing AVs.
  23. Gatling Laser Blast: A huge minimum that shoots laser shots rather then bullets.

    Teleportation Melee: A combination of night crawler from the beginning of the 2nd X-Men movie, and The Dark Watcher from the Web of Aracknos book.

    Fang Melee: A melee set based on bite attacks a garbling. (Like an average 2nd class Zombie, werewolf or vampire movie)

    Toxic Blast: an assault set based on poised darts, clouds of nerve toxin, cones of acidic spray, and the like.

    3 months to get my WH/WP Brute to 50.

    External Combo's

    In some ways we alredy have this. In the secondary effects. Like -ToHit, -Resist, and -Defence.
    The /sonic defender would soften the armor of an enemy for the /SS tank. Or the Dark/ corruptor would distract the enemy so it can not hit the /SR brute.

    However if Ice powers makes electric attacks more damaging, then I think it will properly just lead to more Ice/electric dominators (and the like).
