Quote:You'd think it would be simple but no.Pretty simple, folks. If you subscription lapsed, you're not eligible. If it didn't, you are. If it didn't, and you didn't recieve your badges, open up a support ticket. If you can't tell whether or not your account lapsed...then you've really confused me. At the least, I suppose, you could ask CS if it did or it didn't. But wow.
My brother had to switch cards on his account, because he switched banks. Those few moments of time it took to do so cost him the badge.
UPDATE: I wanted to post a correction on this. He DID get the badge, but it did not award at the same time mine did. Very odd behavior, but it did come through. So I'm hoping those of you who didn't get yours right away finally got them. -
I'm in!

A satisfying answer is pretty subjective. If you ask me, the answer is no. However, I'm sure others were satisfied from the start.
I don't get the need for JU, but it ultimately doesn't matter. My game experience won't be affected one way or another. -

You can thank everyone that cried about having to see their negative comments on their User CP. I just want the option of being able to see them, as I had some funny comments I'd go read when I was bummed. I hate when something is taken away from everyone because of a few vocal whiners.

The Pizza Hut in my hometown had one of those for Centipede well into the 90's. It was so much fun to play!

I remember being in a bowling alley in the early 80's and my uncle playing Pong (yes people used to pay to play Pong on an arcade machine) and saying "Wouldn't it be great if you could play this at home?"
And a year or so later, we could. -
Sorry I missed the TF, but thanks a lot for the SF. Was good times.

This is the most succinct and accurate argument against global naming I have seen yet, and I could not agree more. Bravo on this Claws.

Quote:Yes, and I sincerely hope they listen to us. I can not stress enough how much I do not want names tied to globals. I like having unique names, I hope that is maintained. I think that if we allowed multiple characters of the same name on a server, it could open up a lot of griefing potential. If someone is upset with you, they could make a character that looks just like yours, name it the same thing, and then go act like a jerk, or mock you in some way. Also, it's just silly to have 50 Captain Awesomes running around a server. There may be a good chance of this happening again at some point. The question came up during Hero Con in the 'Wouldn't It Be Great If..." panel discussion and the question was posed to the audience with a thundering "YES, we would like to see this happen". They also asked us how we felt about tying names to Globals, so that anyone could have any name (multiple toons with the same character name running around on the same server) and that idea received a resounding NO by just about everyone. So, hopefully, they got the message that we would like to see names freed up but at the same time keep names unique on a server.
I would much rather see a huge and sweeping purge of names. If someone hasn't had an active account in three years, why are they allowed to keep a name tied up, level 50 or not? I sincerely doubt someone is going to come back after that amount of time. -

At first I was a bit ticked because I was about to switch to it, now that Halloween is over, but then I couldn't stop laughing. So I'm either going to keep my bat a bit longer, and then reupload my iArwen avatar Phantom made for me.
Also, it was Picasa. A pox on Photobucket! -
Wow, I had no idea this was so controversial. I came looking for a thread as to why I can no longer see which of my posts were repped and my comments, and found this. I guess I'm in the minority because I like seeing my comments. You see, I come from Justice, and we're a lot that's known for being a bit off. I had some really funny comments stored that I'd go back and read just to get a chuckle. And now they're gone.
Can we please at least have the option to see them or not? Having them universally off is just as disappointing to some people has having them universally on is to others. -
I liked the instanced raid zone. I hope this tech continues to be used, and I think it's a great alternative to a future Hami update.
The new badges have great artwork! I also really like the purchasable /throwsnowflakes emote.
While I appreciate you guys making some things more difficult, I think this is a bit over the top for a holiday event. Like Abraxxus said, it's too much like the hero encounter of Reichsman. It also seems to take an incredible amount of people to have an encounter run smoothly. My second attempt at it consisted of two full teams and a half team, and we couldn't beat him. That is way more than should be needed for a holiday event. I am also concerned about how low level characters would fare, especially low level Scrappers and Tankers as that foot stomp is nasty. It also doesn't help that he has the super annoying ability to detoggle you and has a mag 1000 hold.
Further complicating the encounter is this:
My screen did this every time Lord Winter phased. I noticed it was worse when flying, which made finding the invading Winter Guard more difficult than it should be. If, however, this is WIA, could we please get ambush text for the Winter Guard so they're easier to find?
Another issue I had with the raid encounter is that after my first run, I was granted Holiday Spirit again, after having received it at log in. I had used the one I received at log in as soon as I got it, and I got another one when I got the Lady of Winter badge.
I also have to agree that the art and the naming are too close to what we've already seen.
I greatly dislike the removal of the candy cane reward option at the end of the Father Time mission. This puts a real damper on a soloer's ability to collect them.
The advanced ski slope has a major glitch in the portal section of the slope. When you emerge from the other side, you are turned the wrong way and the camera is zoomed into first person. -
Quote:Yeah, I'm really hoping this isn't the Natural booster, because there are more Natural concepts than just martial artists.Martial Arts is not an origin it's a powerset so it looks to me like the devs are already coming out with new types of booster packs.
But, I'm not sure what else could be added to a Natural booster. New guns? Cowboy clothing?

Quote:There is a nice LAN room, but I never even logged in. For one, I was having too much fun at the con to think about it, and for two, most of the people I regularly team with where there.I have a question: how much game time, if any, did you all get this year? And do I have to supply my own machine?
If they continue to have it at Doubletree, you'll have free internet if you bring your laptop.

Granted, and now your bathtub is full of ducks.
I wish Going Rogue gives us more character slots per server. -
I'm in:
Star Siren, level 49 Sonic/EM Blaster
Acid Raine, level 50 Rad/Rad Corruptor -
So, I finally got my pictures uploaded.
I've also discovered that Picasa is a lot better than Flickr, and am currently switching everything over there. -
At HeroCon, the devs stated that they prefer to give us "new" content rather than revamp old content. However, I argue that revamps are new content. Let's take a look at Faultline. As it was, no one used it and no one even went there unless it was to badge hunt or to do the one sweeper mission that sent you there. Now there are well-written story arcs, the underground tunnels, the back end is opened up, and the front end looks like it's been repaired. If that isn't new content, I don't know what is.
I would love to see Boomtown get the same treatment (5th Column zone please), as well as Dark Astoria, Perez Park, and the Shadow Shard. It would be great if content we already have was actually used before brand new stuff was added.
In addition to this, I would really like to see an alternative to the Safeguard mission. I would like to see a pro-active mission that would send heroes into the Rogue Isles, with destructible environments, side missions, etc. Safeguard missions as they are are boring as all get out. Mayhem missions, on the other hand, are incredibly fun. It would be nice to see something that awesome for heroes, too. I know that there has long been the dichotomous thinking by the devs that heroes are reactive and villains are proactive, but I think there is room for both on either side. Perhaps even add an alternate to the Mayhem mission that keeps the villain in the Rogue Isles, stopping the invading heroes. There is already precedent in game for something similar, as Longbow has that base in Nerva. Other hero groups, like Legacy Chain, also have a presence.
I would like to have NPCs in our base. Perhaps a receptionist that would be an access point to a revised mail system that lets you mail items and influence/infamy. But as it is now, bases are too quiet. -
Great screen shot Golden!
It just goes to show that not all villains wear red and black.
