Ok, so when did Moriarty get captured and why was he being let go?
-
Maiden Canada was created at launch and today is my only Incarnate. I am working on other characters a lot lately, but she will always be my "main". She still looks the same as 8 years ago.

... and the ramifications. Perhaps this idea has come up elsewhere, but whatever.
I was thinking about the "Time for CoH 2.0?" thread and the comments that had been made about all the updates being kind of a "stealth introduction of 2.0" As I thought of this, I also thought about Posi's comment that Statesman's removal from the game will likely require it's own issue to properly address everything that would be affected.
Now, CoX is the first and only MMO that I have played, but when I look at some others and the differences between their first and second versions, Marcus' death seems to be somewhat on a par with the gameworld/ lore changes that they undergo. Statesman being removed from the game (assuming it really is permanent) marks a real, drastic change in the game universe. An issue devoted to such could in a very real way mark the start of CoH 2.0.
I have been thinking for a while that if CoX is inspired by comics, they should also include a "Double-Sized Anniversary Issue!"... An extra-large Issue 25 would be a great spot for a drastic overhaul (including Samuel_Tow's requested better bodies). -
Ok, great. Thanks.
Well, I guess it's back to Primal earth for me, then. -

... and can't tell if I am done.
I supposes I'll say spoilers just in case...
Just finished the arc with the big battle between Numina and Selene. Is that the end? I am not being sent to any other contact. I was under the impression that there was more, including more with Vanessa DeVore (unless that's part of a TF?) -
Ok, so it's time to revisit this.
For a long time, I have thought (and even had some people agree) that it would be nice to be able to use Dual Blades (renamed, perhaps) with less lethal weapons like tonfa or escrima sticks. The argument against it was always that DB does lethal damage and those other weapons should do smashing damage.
Given that Titan Weapons allows smashing damage with giant edged weapons, can we please reconsider allowing blunt weapons as alternates for DB? I mean, as people have been quick to point out on various other occasions, a blunt club to the head can be pretty darn lethal. -
Quote:I would kill to have access to good asian faces like that.The funny thing is, people keep ignoring the greatest examples of that right here in our own game;
Mirror Spirit and Foreshadow
Now, those aren't the highest quality pictures (from the wiki they be) but in-game those models are really damn nice.
So...why is THAT not the bar for all the PC pieces? Yes, it'd be a metric poop-ton of work, but wouldn't it be worth it? Even with our ageing engine, we CAN have shiny pieces that look really nice.
Just not the Victorian faces. Those are ugly and smack bang in the middle of uncanny valley. But we CAN have awesome pieces. So...why not?
(-Zoidberg?) -
I havve been saying this for a while, too. One thing that has bothered me for a long time is the feet. I have a couple of characters who, thematically, would go barefoot, but the "boots with toes" are horrible.
I really want new faces, too. I have used the same few faces far too many times. -
At the 0:44 mark, you see the pilot seat for the giant elephant-like alien seen in the original Alien.

Yayyyy!
Sweet, sweet art! You even have a sense of her personality!
Thankies! -
Pleeeeaaase do me!
Errr... draw me.

Quote:AHA!!!!!!Something that may be relevant from Prometheus...
...It's possible Statesman and/or Recluse may die, someone (us?) gets their power, and then they are resurrected.
I'm not sure this fits well into any of the other information we have, such as the lack of marketing information changes, but I thought it was interesting in the context of the announced death.
So... Statesman will die and pass his power on to the player so that they can face Tyrant!
Just like when Connor died to give Duncan the Quickening to fight Jacob Kell!
Or, maybe like the Sailor Scouts dying and their power to Sailor Moon to fight Queen Beryl...
Take your pick. -
Thought:
Statesman the hero dies, but not Marcus. Perhaps he sacrifices/ surrenders his powers to be free from the Well. Maybe he's just re-rolling and starting as a new AT.
Perhaps he grants a portion of his power to the player to-- as suggested elsewhere-- open a new Incarnate slot. -
Quote:See, that's another issue... As far as I am aware, "our" marcus is the only good one in the multiverse. Can't kill him off for that alone. If he really ends up dead dead instead of comic book dead (Like Johnny Storm whose body wasn't even cold by the time his return was announced) we can just grab ourselves a Marcus Cole from some other dimension. There's millions of him out there.
A friend said to me that we "need" a character to die and come back simply because this is a comic-influenced game and that's just what happens in comics. I figure, if we have to do things just because comics do them, then we need Issue 25 to be a double-sized anniversary issue. -
I am amoung those who actually like Statesman and think that he is often perceived/ portrayed unfairly. I was also rather disappointed in the decision to tell us point-blank that he is the one who will die. I prefer to be surprised. I hate when a comic will tell you "In this Issue... Character X Dies!!!"
I have often felt that Statesman has soooo much potential as a character, but it is usually wasted. He is a tragic figure and while I can agree with the sentiment that he deserves a chance to rest, I dislike the whole approach they are taking with this story. I am very firmly in the camp that hopes he will be brought back in a few issues. -
Quote:Zartan. Yeah, I know. what I mean is, if there is an international force being run jointly, would the other partners just sit back and say nothing when the "president" wipes them out?Well, the president was replaced by a Cobra operative at the end of the first movie.
/e shrug -
While I certainly enjoy fighting large organisations like Arachnos, Fifth Column and such, I would like to have more stand-alone villains. I personally rather liked seeing the Rogue's Gallery villains that appeared in the tip missions (even if they were always backed up by existing villain groups). When the SSA started and there was the mysterious mastermind talking off-camera, I was very excited at the prospect of a new villain who didn't have to rely on any of the existing groups, beyond manipulating them. I was really hoping to see someone entirely new, with a cool back-story.
There was one moment in a Praetoria mission though, where Arachnos soldiers show up and make some comment to the effect that they will glady die to forward Recluse's goals. The way it was said (I won't even try to paraphrase it, as I don't remember it very well) actually made me see Arachnos as a threat for the first time in a long while, thinking of them as blindly loyal and willing to sacrifice everything for Recluse. It was actually a cool little moment. -
Seems as though they are mostly ignoring the first one. Only Duke, Snake Eyes and Zartan are back from part one, as far as I can see. I wonder if the "they're all dead!" line includes Scarlett, Hawk and the others.
After the first movie, the person I felt bad for (aside from myself, for having sat through it) was Larry Hama. If I had spent years creating and writing characters only to see them turned into what the first film was, I would have been rather upset about it.
At least now it looks like they tried to address some of the things people didn't like last time (looking at you, Snake Eyes mask).
Also, given that G I Joe is not the usual "real American hero" team in the movies, but an international force, is the decision of the American president to wipe them out "with extreme prejudice" the best way to go? -
Oooh...
I hadn't really had much hope for this until now.
/fingers crossed. -
Great news! I love those older episodes!
When YTV started here years ago, they played every series that was available. I *so* regret not recording them all. -
Sad to hear this. Sadder still that I can mention his name to people and have most of them say "who?"
-
Are those just her boots, or does she have claws in her toes?
-
That actually looks... pretty interesting...
It also reminded me of a comedy I wanted to see and then forgot the name of, with a similar set-up, but the teens in the film wind up killing themselves trying to fight some hillbillies that they think are killers. Anyone remember the name of that?
