Great information!
Well-deserving of another bump.
I made a similar thread not too long ago, but it wasn't nearly as thorough or well-noticed. XD Still, if any of the links there are of any use to your Masterpost, feel free to add them! :3

Bump for update: There is now a letter campaign!
http://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index....ic,4883.0.html
This is where they're beginning to formulate plans for the newest campaign in the battle to save Paragon.
If you've got some spare time and a leftover stamp or two, please join us and make your voice heard! -

Quote:Thank you so much for the support, Steele!I've signed the petitions and will support TonyV's actions financially if it goes that far.
I've also (see my sig) taken action of my own.
And it seems that a lot of people have chosen to boycott NCsoft now. XD
I can hardly blame them. Though I haven't consciously decided "I'm boycotting NCsoft", I know quite deeply that I'm never going to give a cent to those selfish, greedy @#$%^&*s ever again.
Would you like me to add your boycott link to the list? :3 I'm sure plenty of other people would love to join. -
Quote:We'll be doing our best! Please, please save this game. I'm not ready for it to go down the toilet.
I don't know... I think that our best chances of keeping City of Heroes up and running is to take the game into our own hands. Whether we're going to be able to bribe NCsoft into handing over the IP and data and do this all legally, or whether we're going to have to get by with underground private servers, still remains to be seen.
However, that's not to say that we shouldn't still lend our support to the petitions fighting to convince NCsoft to reconsider their closing the game. Public backlash and a sudden flood of support have been known to touch the hearts of similar corporations in the past; we may still have a chance.
But if not, we should also be prepared for the next step. If NCsoft refuses our pleas, then I fully intend to sink every cent of spending money that I have into campaigns to buy the IP for the game. If that, too, fails, then... well... there are already teams of, ah, 'Chaotic Good' programmers working on reverse-engineering the code for private servers. I'm sure that at least one of them will be willing to share.
Quote:We have unfinished business to do! The biggest mystery of all are the Incarnate slots! How can they be uncompleted?!
Even if the growing team over at CoH Titan gets their hands on the IP for City of Heroes, they might never really achieve the vision that the Paragon Studios team had for future content. Though then again, when faced with the choice of "no City of Heroes" and "City of Heroes with either no updates or very few updates", then I don't think it'll be very hard to make the decision...
No matter what happens, I really don't think that this will be the end. It's just going to be the dawn of a new era for heroes; the migration of our community to another server, perhaps even another game, another medium. -
If there's one thing that City of Heroes has taught us, it's that you don't need to be wearing a mask and cape to save the day; heroes come in all shapes and sizes.
Sometimes saving the day isn't about beating up the bad guys; sometimes it's about trying to go back in time, about putting out fires, about all banding together to finish a common mission. Sometimes it's about adding your voice to the rising protest in order to make a difference.
I have yet to see a complete compilation of all of the petitions and efforts to save City of Heroes, so I've made one here. Know about one you don't see here? Post a link! I'll add it to the list.
The Official Petition for NCsoft to Keep City of Heroes Up and Running
http://www.change.org/petitions/ncso...f-heroes#intro
The Petition for NCsoft to Open the Game's Source Code
If NCsoft is abandoning City of Heroes entirely, what's it matter to them if we keep the game running after they're done with it? If they open the source code, then the community can keep the game running on its own servers!
http://www.change.org/petitions/ncso...roes-villains#
The Petition for NCsoft to Compromise With Us
This petition isn't as well-known as the first two, but I think it's more than reasonable to ask that they help us keep the game alive (most likely by opening the source code), so I'm going to try and get it a bit of exposure here.

NEW: The Letter Campaign
There is now a campaign to send thousands of protest letters to the offices of NCsoft. If you've got some spare time and a leftover stamp or two, please join us and make your voice heard!

An Organized Effort to Keep the Game Alive After Shutdown
Over on CoHTitan, they're already working on making plans to keep the game alive even after NCsoft shuts it down.

A Section of CoHTitan Dedicated to Saving Our City
CoHTitan is quickly becoming the unofficially official forums, rising up to fully replace these forums once they go down. There's now a section dedicated to the efforts to save City of Heroes, and it would probably be a good idea to bookmark it before the day when NCsoft shuts down these forums entirely.
http://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index....ard,134.0.html
Sign all of the petitions you can. Bookmark all of the forum links you can. I promise you, no matter what happens, we are not going to let this game die.
But, of course, it would be much easier for us if we got NCsoft reconsider, or at least give us the code that we'll need to run it ourselves.
We can do this. We're the strongest community throughout the entire genre of MMOs. No matter what, we're not going to let our City fall without a fight. -

...My graphics look fine now. But now I can't get into the game.
I made it to my character screen twice out of six times. The rest of the times it stopped responding at the login screen. I have yet to actually finish loading into Peregrine Island and get into the game.
Is something wrong with the server or is this another problem on my end?
Edit: Okay, scratch that, it seems to be running OK now. Thanks for the help all!

So. Nuked my computer and updated it to Windows 7. Everything [except CoX] runs fine. I just fired up CoH; the first time, it crashed before I got to the login screen. The second time, I made it on, but the graphics looked horrible. I fixed the screen resolution and restarted, but it still looked terrible. The world was extremely dark, but my character, the pedestrians, and the cars on the road were all in bright and gaudy unshaded colors. (I'd link a screenshot, but for some reason I can't take screenshots of games with Windows 7.) So. Anyone having the same problem or is it just me? Am I doing something wrong or is this Windows 7? And is there a patch out that someone can direct me to?
Thanks in advance for any and all help received. -

I know that you can change the name of one standard enemy at a time by making it a boss or escort or something like that, but I'd like to know if I can make the enemies in my base Enemy Group have custom names. Anyone know anything about this that they'd like to share?
Thank you in advance! -
Thank you all for all of the answers!
I really appreciate it. Well, looks like a Med Bay is a worthy investment after all. (^_^)
-
I'm new to supergroup base construction, and I'd like to know a few things about the Medical Rooms before I go building one.
Okay. Let's say I pay 50,000 prestige for a little MedBay for my Supergroup Base.
Question #1: Is there any real advantage to having a bigger Medical Room (ie. Trauma Center)? I know you can put more Resurrection Circles in them, but... what's the point? Is there a cooldown on each Resurrection Circle, so that you can't use the same circle twice in a certain amount of time?
Question #2: Let's say I just had a run in with the Kraken in Perez Park, and I really don't want to run all the way back from Atlas Park hospital. I opt to go to my Supergroup Base hospital instead. Well, when I leave the base through the Secret Entrance Room, will I be back where I was, in front of the Kraken in Perez Park? Or will I appear elsewhere and have to run all the way back?
So, I'd like to know if the Resurrection Circles have a cooldown timer (or something else that would make me want to get more than one), and if you appear right where you died if you leave your SG base after rezzing in the SG medical room.
Thank you all in advance! -
Thank you very much for the critiques. I'll be sure to make the suggested changes. =)
Edit:

Third Mish, well we have a problem. The ally is way too powerful. She cleared the board. I didn't do anything - I didn't have to. Sort of raises the question - why does she need my help anyways?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, I wanted to make her strong so that even the lowest level character or weakest of classes could make it through the last mish. Also, if I made her too weak and she died, that may cause a few problems with the plot.Still, I'll heed your advice and make her a bit less strong.
Thanks again for your feedback-- any other people who feel inclined to help me in my quest to improve my arc are welcome to do so. Thanks in advance! -
I'd like some constructive criticism on my new arc, Defying Fate. It's Arc ID 110866.
Any and all help is appreciated; thank you in advance!
It's a soloable, lowbie-friendly, story-focused sci-fi mission arc, and it's going to have a sequel if I can ever overcome my writer's block. -
My arc is solo-friendly and lowbie-friendly, and can be completed in under an hour.

Arc Name: Tales of Croatoa: A Rose By Any Other Name....
Arc ID: 178774
Morality: Heroic
Factions: Red Cap, Ghosts, Cabal, Custom
Difficulty Level: Moderate to Hard. Mission 5 has EB/AV.
Synopsis : Patrolling in Croatoa one night, you notice a little girl wandering aimlessly on the edges of a cemetery and decide to stop to help. Experience a tale of love, sorrow, and betrayal as you attempt to unravel a mystery. (SFMA)
Note: This arc is intended to be played by someone in their low to mid 30s ( i.e. when you'd normally be playing in Croatoa ). Due to obvious errors in faction level ranges in MA, if you play at higher levels, your mission play level will fluctuate. (which can be a little annoying )
Any comments or constructive criticism will be appreciated.

I saw this thread while browsing the forums a few days ago, thought the title sounded neat, and gave it a try. This turned out to be the best arc Ive played so far (and I received my badge for playing 50 arcs quite some time ago). The story was absolutely amazingit was very well-written, very suspenseful, and constantly surprising me with new developments in the plot that I never would have thought could happen!
The enemies were very balanced, and the EB/AV at the end wasnt too hard (well, I never wouldve managed her alone since I played a Controller, but the two allies really helped). I loved all of the little plot twists, and can see that a TON of work went into thisthe NPC dialogue was very nicely done (the Red Caps rhyming was a very nice touch), the clues gave great insight into the plot, and of course the mission dialogue was also flawless (I loved the ending- it was slightly bittersweet, yet filled with hope and joy as well).
Youve really outdone yourself with thisI give it a solid five stars, and hope that you make many more like it.
