Well..it's much better than before..but STOP TRYING TO STOP POWERLEVELERS! umm..please Don't get me wrong this is much better..but nobody really cares about powerlevelers..this is removing freedom from the game, and adding stress by making you be close to your team when hunting..then again usually you are close when hunting. Sometimes people hunt in spread up groups..but this is better than the other idea...

PLers need to be stopped, but not to the detriment of us non-PLers. Still, they MUST be dealt with as they DO negatively affect us. As smilinstupid said,

The Fast food analogy is right on, it just leaves out one part. Look at how many legitimate restaraunts are going out of business due to Fast food or other chains.

I give this as a word of warning. A lot of chains will find what they consider a vulnerable region, and they will go there and they will provide consumers with really low prices in the short term.

Local businesses are unable to compete. But the chain can run at a deficit because they have other restraunts in other regions that offset the costs, so the deficit is really an investment.

The local businesses go out of business. What happens to prices at the chain restaraunt? Don't be naive either, and assume this just happens in small towns or big cities, it happens everywhere. Wal-mart has been killing local economies for years. There are some municipalities that will not allow for "Super Wal-Marts" because they put grocery stores out of business.

Now I wouldn't say that Powerlevelers are going to ruin CoH, but they have a very negative impact on the game. For example, if you team with someone who has been powerleveled, you never know what you're getting out of them. Just because they have the powers doesn't mean they have any idea how to use them.

I have nothing of interest to add here I just have to say how funny it is, seeing people getting so upset about something not even out yet, that im sure will be a option to turn off. LOL

this is just really funny to me, to the point that I think I'm done coming to these boards

I've gotten my sniper rifle to the point that I cant pull with it, I've been killing some orange mobs (family) almost every yellow mob encountered and every white mob with 1 shot. So i've been pulling the bosses if they are red cause I cut them in half. But those are the missions i do when the highiest baddie is red and not purple, its a different story when im on missions 3 or 4 levels ahead of me.

if asked how i have my sniper sloted , im lvl 23 and its 6 slotted with all 25 SO damage enhances and stacked to the max. My aim bot is 3 sloted with to hit buffs stacked so i'm hitting stuff like 80% of the time.

And to xMSGx I say... Its just a name and the powers function in the game should not be defined by a name in a matter that makes it no fun to use.
Perhaps buffs like Aim should make all your characters attacks behaive like sniper attacks, increaseing the casting time so that you are actually aiming and allowing you to be interupted if your hit.
And Parry should make you wait for the enemy to actually attack and then you try and parry the incomeing attack.

I was only trying to give my perspective on maybe how the devs think. I do agree that the penality is too great for the power, even hastes end drain when it wears off sucks.

An extra tip for pulling, try not to pull with attacks that can knockdown, or kockback a foe. I have a lvl 41 ar/dev blaster and when I pull with burst I have more succesfull pulls then when I pull with slug.

Another good tactic I use for pulling, or even killing a mob within a group. Turn on SS, CJ and Cloaking Device... move within burst range, SS back up and right before you get out of range take a jump and press attack button. Due to SS and CJ you draw your weapon in midair but keep finishing your jump and you land out of l.o.s. firering your weapon. In most cases the foe doesn't know what hits him, until you get back in his range again. If you wait it out a bit, the agg drops.. and you can do this all over again. Might take some practice, but it works =)

I've done this but with super jump it works the same, just becareful where you land! lol

great guide! Being a sniper and new at this game. I know some of those tricks (jumping up, and edge) but i often shoot the boss first, Never again! and I will diffently be the puller on the team now after reading those tactics.

Just a little story, a group of 8 of us were playing the tommy 2 guns mish, and our puller went up and shot tommy, and we TP'd him back to us, well Tommy came by himself!!!!!!!!!!! I couldnt believe he just pulled the main boss surrounded by his men, and he came alone! crazy

Above is websters definition of rage.

IMO when you go into a fit of rage, you use a lot of energy and adreniline, thus you can only handle it for so long and when you run out of energy, you become tired and weak. So you would only go into rage, if your life depended on it, or someone elses, like in the real world.

I do agree however that the penality for using it is too great, but I can understand why they've changed it.

Im a New Newbie, so what are us new newbs doing?

Well first off I ordered this game online so it took a couple days to get here, so I was reading up these forums, I read this entire thread, saying ok I wont do that, ok I wont do that. Well I did them anyways.

Been playings since feb 4th
just two days ago, I was doing the Pos TF and was waiting at the train station after I got off for my team leader to tell me which city to deliver the book too, i was lvl 16 and you'd think I would know better by now, specially since reading this thread, well.....

I TRIED TO GO IN THE EXIT OF THE TRAIN! That whole time until then i was like yeah baby im not the 95% who's done it or the 5% who has lied about it! lol wrong I did it.

I havent tried exiting the mission thru the door, Im glad i read this thread for that one.

I had some high lvl blaster who was like my tutor, i was asking on broadcast some questions about enhancements, had no idea about DO's and he took me to the store that sold them, and gave me 500k, just for the hell of it!!! He said he was glad to help someone who was new and he had so much he didnt care, WOW I was like awesome, I have had a UBER Blaster ever since. LVL 18 and broke, ok i have about 30k but this is money ive earned from going down to about 1k

that wasnt really a newb mistake but still a awesome experiance when you've only have your first lvl 10 guy on your 3rd day of playing.

Dont SJ onto a group of mobs that are even or above you! bad! lol

Dont stand in the middle of the street in Skyway, or you will get dealt with by a rouge ambush! lol Try 400+ damage points by a lvl 40 advanced drone. me...lvl 16, and it happened TWICE in 15 minutes lol

Get on at 845am, not knowing the servers usually go down at 9am for scheduled maintaince. Excited about playing and was just able to run around a bit. <sigh>

thats all i can think of at the moment
