Extra slots were added only to owners of the two paid game expansions: City of Villains (we went from 8 slots to 12 if you bought COV and COH) and Going Rogue*. Thus there is no real need for Account Management to "track" anything. Regardless of whether you bought COV or not, for the last three years NCSoft has basically given away COV and the extra 4 slots for free. As things currently stand, no Premium players will get tokens for it. So the only thing to track is whether you bought GR. (*The sole exception to this was the i12 bonus, which was temporary.)

Note: As it currently stands, the i12 bonus will apply only to VIP players.

And if anyone feels that Posi's last line ("Other bonuses possible") is too ambiguous, that's actually a GOOD thing, since it means there may be even MORE stuff given to the paying players.
That link doesn't work? Thanks for trying to explain this all again but I'm with Kosmos. The devs did do right by having open dialogue on this to sift thru all the misconceptions. But as quoted Kosmos "I think a dev (Posi or Sec-M) should have looked up all the possible sources instead of just having the catch-all category at the end."

This was the smart move in my opinion.
  2. For some one like celestial whats ever his name is to talk down on his supposed loved char the whole time and basically not take any ones advice seriously means he was a self defeatist.

No one can pull him out of his sour mood but him. I made a bubbler my self and I cried for a bit when I wasn't needed but I played on and didnt let self doubt step in on why I play the char. This thread was more a pitty pary and a place to pout then where one goes to get the old fire back in your belly for playing your char.

Honestly reading this thread was a real drag and a waste of time since giving up is all that came of this.

    • 2 tokens if you were awarded the 2 bonus slots during the i12 period

It seems like there should be more than that, but that's all I can come up with as sources of slots beyond the basic 12 per server we have now. That's simply the same as however many extra slots you have now (used or unused) plus 2.
And that's why I want a list of every "game changing addition" that awards or doesn't award tokens. They should have added this to our account management well in advance to quell all this here say and confusion.

I'm in front of my comp and it's 3 not 4 upgrades. But some how having 2 for being free and 2 for GR makes 4 when it switches over. Where as i have 3 free to use now. Do I add these three numbers up and still get the 1 slot per vet year?

I also looked over second measures first post. Is there a way of listing every game edition/perk/purchase to your account that states if it came with a slot?

If that wasn't clear enough for you, you can read later in the thread where Positron stole Chad Gulzow-Man's list.

  6. I just want to know where do I find out how many slots I will have based on whats on my account? If I have like CoH(original), CoH(dvd), CoV(Special ed.), going rogue, and like a ton or vet time. Where does it tell me what each thing gives me?

  8. Thank you for taking an interest. I was off on business and been home 24hrs.
  9. Go cry to the police then! I was trying to get forbin project to show up.
  10. Damnit, I want to move chars to infinity and the store system won't give me the option. WTH(eck) NCSOFT?

edit: NVM, the system is taking it's sweet time loading.
  11. I'm reading all this information and I don't feel it's for me. Your intentionally gimping ur selves at lower lvls so that u can have end game or lvl 50 beast. I'm sure having near unlimited resources and pwr lvl parties in AE and other such places keep you from using such gimped chars at the low lvls. This is a copy from the online planner that doesn't hae free fitness pool powers and I didn't add in any Enh.

  12. I've been over 5 pages in and I found just about every combo of rad troller but rad/rad. I'm looking for more of a discussion really. Not just builds, I need input on the power set that explains things.

    :EDIT:

    i DIDN'T MAKE A TROLLER, IT WAS A CORUPTOR.

I read, then I tried out his tactic for making inf and in 2 hrs I made roughly 10mil. I'm sold on this idea plus i got stuff that would make my lowbies happy.
  14. Understood, I went with burst anyways for the feel and I like the chainable attacks it gives. No matter which attack precedes it I still have a viable option.
  15. I've got a kin/regen scrapper and does thepower choice apply to taking my attacks? At 18 you all took burst over repulsion torrent and in some cases skipped it all together?

The popular concept for "improvement" is "expansion" which gave us City of Villains, Praetoria and a plethora of new zones since the game first came out. Indeed, the last few Issues have been new Trials and tasks and the next one has been announced to have a new zone as it's focal point.

The problem is that if you keep increasing the number of things players can do and the number of places they can be, then the population will automatically begin to seem less because that same number of players is stretched thinner and thinner.

Then you run into the problem of "ooh SHINY!" where you get a glut of people all trying the newest content before they get bored with it and begin looking for something else to play with.

Since the new shinies in question are pretty much all concentrated in 50th level character range, the early level stuff has become a ghost town. When the Devs were turning out new power sets and archetypes it was the exact opposite; there were hundreds of first level Demon Summoners and Dual Pistols characters looking for teams.

I am not against the Weekly Strike Forces for one reason; they encourage 50th level characters to organize or join TF teams. I don't have a 50(yet) but I've run my existing characters through more TFs over the past few weeks than my entire game time prior to that. I've been having pretty good luck with it so far, even on the lower population servers.
This is part of the reason why I made this thread. Things are pretty stretched out. But we did lose some of our numbers over the years. A decent amount of returns but still lacking in extra servers. And now we have our European brothers and sisters to share game time with. More people start alts with them and stretch out the populous. So no even finding an excessive amount of people for weekly's or leagues is getting tot he point of exasperation.

I was disappointed in it. I made an Kin/EA Brute, played everything at +0/x0 and still missed something because I was one special mission short of the badge. I was trying to enjoy the content and still outleveled it. And since there is no Ouro for Praetoria content, I'll never get the last one. Something is definitely screwy there.
I feel cheated in this regard to. They need to add a ouroborus setting. I find it so agrivating still to start a char in Praetoria so I can lvl for the option of turning it hero/villain since it's not an original option. But when I did want to do it for story line I enjoyed it when I could (not out lvl it).
  18. As I stated in my last posting "Might as well stay on a 50!" I've done more trials then lower lvl msh's aside from sutter and kal when that was the weekly.
  19. I kinda forgot about this posting but if you want to step up so be it Fade Spiral.

Maybe simple wasn't the right word. How about clear, straightforward, or unmistakable. Yes, all the info up to a point tells you that you need 10 of (tip here) to be able to cross to the middle side. What seemed to be missing in my read through was once you've attained the middle status that you will only get the same (tip here) if you stay in that same zone side. So it will seem like your banging your head against a wall trying to complete your change over to completely be the opposite of what you started as.

For instance: [Timmy power gamer] starts as villain and wants to change. He does his 10 tips and gets his rogue status (small victor dance ensues). (With out total understanding) He completes 10 more tips while still being in the same zone and nothing new happens. Asks around in broadcast and is told to look here in forums. Finds page, reads and is not wholly understanding the jargon (even with pictures)

There should be a line reading "To complete the transition from B to C or B to A you must cross over then achieve 10 tips + 1 morality mission."
  20. I read thru all and I have been getting better results now that the newness of WTf are wearing off. But then I20 hits and I might as well just stay on a 50!
  21. so where is the admiral located? I ran all over Talos and he doesn't seem to stand out!

NVM, I found out in chat. It's really in IP.
  22. True saving him can be a bear and a bore, but when your going for the costume piece or power given or what have you it seems such a waste to skip them!
  23. I'm apart of the triumph channel and many times sent tells through it and regular broadcast for TF/SF. And would be ignored or receive comments like "we just ran one, where were you?" I tried getting on other channels for two lesser used servers and no one seems to know what I'm talking about there. And my fourth server is always full so I never have need of a channel since some one always is on and actively looking.
  24. Is any one else feeling the same aggravation I am. What I mean is 'The weekly strikes are killing all other activities in CoX'.
I got back into CoX late November for issue 19 and I only had two 50's at the time. With the introduction of weekly events I've seen regular events get pushed to the side. For instance the winter events, how many people took time out of their shard hunting and incarnate building schedule to do this. On 4 different servers is where I house my chars and on each it was a hassle to find people to do them with at any lvl.
Move onto spring fling - Again people are to busy grinding away shards and such to really give their time for it. I had four separate times where I would join someone we would do their part of the mish and then they would find some excuse to quite or just log off (I chalk up most of these to people who are *****).
And the final annoyance - Task Forces that have nothing to do with shards! No one wants to do them?... Unless they are attached to a weekly strike, hence why Manticore was such a successful campaign again.
Does any one else feel getting a group together for a TF (super groups not included) a royal pain! I have so many alts that joining a SG on one of the four servers would not be kind to them because sometimes I just don't come back to those chars for some time. And if I joined one on each server that's to much time i don't have to give to keep from being kicked out for inactivity.

I think this all I have to say with out some feedback.

:edit, also originally posted on page 2:
I want all here to know for those who continue to read this thread and post here that some time yesterday this thread was officially moderated. My original title was "A rant(discussion) about weekly strikes!" Is now as it is named. I feel that forum moderators (not just here) seem to be creeping into our threads more often changing our original intentions of threads to their own.

"This rant thread was meant to be for those who needed a place to relieve the pent up frustration of grinding with weekly strikes taking away teammates".
  25. Soon as I read that (I was off CoH since 30th) and thought there has got to be a flame forum for this. Thus I'm here too. Maybe they should do away with getting xp in the conventional sense. We get salvage and build our xp out of salvage. Problem solved.
