    ...Molly Shannon.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which pretty much sums up everything as 'point of view' for all parties involved. Some folk may like Molly Shannon, and to them they may be a superstar. Certainly not me, but I will not begrudge someone else their opinion.

Most everyone likes Kevin Spacey or Johnny Depp, but for every fan, there are haters.

Ametuers, professionals, hobbyists - it doesn't matter what label they have. What matters is how much enjoyment an individual gets from whatever it is that they create.

And this comes from a published game designer, just so you know... no bias on these statements.

As players of this game, we're lucky to be able to design content. How you design yours may not work for me and visa versa.

It's more than annoying, it can be a pain in the rear to group with folk who don't have the common sense to actually work on their characters and learn how to play worth a lick.

But they pay their fees. Let them enjoy their ignorance, block them, and move on.

Sorry for disjointed comments, but I am at work right now... I'm usually a tad more organized in thought. But the types of die rolls are convoluting insurance claims and now I'm hungry. Go figure....
  2. What I especially find most amusing about this thread is most folk posting have demonstrated a level of vocabulary above and beyond what is normally encountered in an MMO...

Just an observation. But seriously, go back for a review and see how many $100 words have been thrown around. It's a nice change from 31337 $p3@|< ... maybe I have just played too much KoL...

    *shrugs*

...The basic idea behind my suggestion is to no longer allow players to create custom minions, custom lieutenants or custom bosses....

    [/ QUOTE ]

"Normally occur" might not fit in with what other writers want to publish with MA; normal occurances already occur in game so why mirror pre-exisiting molds?

I am enjoying developing "campaign" style story arcs for the MA, much like I might design for a table top RPG. It essentially has become a virtual table-top RPG arena for me.

Now how does that not kick @$$ ?

Let those who want to abuse the system do so, but let's not take away the options for those that enjoy getting all of our creativity out of the box, yes?

  5. I have said it before and I say it again:

Thanks for the great game! Here's to another year of great gaming fun!
  6. So, what's a hero to do?

I wanna give back sumthin' to da community...ya know, provide peeps a place to hang out and suchness like that.

So I made a little message board thingy of my own. It's not much, but it's home ta me and a few of my SG buddies.... well, once they get back from doing some stuff for their super-secret alter-egos and suchness. Me, I have no alter ego - I am Kwip 24/7!

So come on by and say hello! Ya know ya wanna!

  7. So lemme guess - there's no way to get a copy of that show now, is there?
  8. I remember a thread just like this less than a month ago!

    sorry - couldn't resist

    1) Super Group contacts and thereby, Super Group missions. Any contact could give these missions when they become available (i.e. special missions that are either unique via a mission creator or rare).

    2) Super Group villian choice, so that the Super Group can select a group which they oppose, maybe tied back to 1).

    3) Super Group prestige, much like individual character influence. Who knows your group, what has it done for the city as a whole, and what favors can you pull in for the group?

I would like to Ditto these above statements for my own. Also, the Email SG option will be a must!

zzMDude - you really have your moments man... cracked me up, thanks

Now just tell me where your avatar is from, it sorta creeps me out

    [/ QUOTE ]
oh, come on... his avatar is Tobey MacGuire from the Spider Man 2 movie, where he was holding the L-Train from falling off the tracks and his face got so discombobulated you might mistake it for part of the Blob's backside.

Oh, and back on topic: ----> Keep up the good work, States. The game's a gem to me, and it looks it might be that way for quite some time....

EDIT: -------> man, you must have hit the "ok, submit" button the same time I did. Man, if it weren't for lag....

    The Kudos Thread

Kudos for snowballs! I had a blast tonight throwin' down with other heroes, even though I could not hit the broad side of Atlas' stoney [censored] with a frickin' snowball....

I have enjoyed the holiday event thus far, and I know it should only get better. Kudos for 30' walking snowmen! Kudos for mini-snow men! Kudos for more badges!

Um... okay. I'm done geeking out now. Seriously, thanks guys!

    The Kudos Thread

What else can I say? I should be working on my LARP that I have to run in less than 24 hours. No other game in my life grappled my attentions so bad that my other games start to suffer....

Well, the LARP isn't suffering yet, but that's just 'cause I got a great Game Staff.

So I raise my coffee mug to ya all! I3 is a blast, can't wait for I4, and I hope we're all here for I10 and beyond!

    The Kudos Thread

See, my sleep schedual prevented me from actually adding anything to this thread that has NOT already been said...

...but my sleep schedual is a little whacked out because I play until the servers go down

I can say the super heroes have always been some of my favorite fiction, even more so than fantasy or clean-cut sci-fi. So I acn give a a huge thank you finally producing a game that so many of us were waiting for for years, and then go and make then darned thing even better!

omg this CoV needs to have the Thriller dance, that would rule.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hey, they put it on the Final Fantasy DVD - they could do it here too!!!
  15. [ QUOTE ]
Dude, that is a badass idea!

It'd be a [censored] to program, but it'd be so cool! (and it'd make it so that SG members are kinda assigned stuff to do when they're offline..
    "i wanna be the chef!"
"You're always the chef! Be a scientist!"
"Guard! Let me be a guard then!"

    [/ QUOTE ]

(IC) Hell, man the KWIPSTER wants to be the CHEF!
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Do you really want to come back on and find out your hero was defeated while you were away?

    [/ QUOTE ][ QUOTE ]

Me? Absolutely. I have no problem with this at all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Maybe I'm just a glotton for punishment, but I have to agree with you sentiment on this - if this concept did go into play, I for one would see it as huge step forward. My character(s) are supposed to be heroes 24/7, and that does technically include when I am not logged on. Defending my SG base would only make sense, regardless as to my log-in status.

It would make the game a bit more "realistic", but I am sure for everyone that agrees with me, there are 50 who think the idea is unfair.... and I have to admit that I see their point as well.
