  1. I'm canceling my CoX account today, so I wanted to put up a quick post thanking those who made my 3+ years ingame a blast since I may not see or hear from you for while!

MaV, Sodd, Black Mane, Incredible Lee, "Bob" BlueDog, and all the rest of the FotFW crew - it's been fun! Too many nights drunk and yelling at each other on vent to list, but all of them were a h00t! Hope you guys keep in touch with Los - he'll still be on and I'll give him a message to send to you clowns every once in a while.

I think that arc i did about you guys is still active (216676), so enjoy it as my lasting contribution to your in game antics.

I'll do a post in the other server forums for my friends there.

Thanks to the Jello Shooters channel for helping me get a few TF's here and there - lurking in on your conversations helped me learn alot about the game. DJ Kyo for running a kick-*** radio station. You guys even played my request the eve of Hurricane Ike so that if it was my last night, at least I finally got on the radio!

Thanks to all I ever teamed with - too many to name - it's been fun. Take care and if I ever reup my account, you'll be the first ones I look up!
  2. So this would be the equivilant of the popular girls in the lunch room telling each other how pretty their outfits are?

    Then here's my dream team:

    JelloShooter 1 as a scrapper
    JelloShooter 2 as a tank
    JelloShooter3 as a blaster
    JelloShooter4 as a controller
    JelloShooter5 as a defender
  3. Saw a character the other night that struck me as someone I'd seen before in a comic somewhere. It got me to thinking about our EULA and I was hoping someone could offer me some clarification.

It is my understanding that we cannot use copyrighted names (i.e. Superman, Wolverine). However, if the name is not copyrighted, and the character's look, bio and poweset are not related to the 'protected' character, we are okay. Is this true?

I've seen a bunch of toons (I did not report as it doesn't offend me at all) that were obvious knockoffs - Captian Americas, Hulks, Supermen and one mighty fine Dr. Strange knockoff - but their names were way off base (i.e. a Hulk look-a-like named Devious Mike). Is this not okay but they've just not been reported?

Without a full legal explanation - which I probably wouldn't understand anyway - I thought the 'spirt' of the rules was that if you made a character intended to reflect another 'protected' character - whether it be by name, look, powerset or any combination of the three (i.e. an elec/elec blaster named 'wolverine' that looks like the protected 'wolverine' or a shield/martial arts character named 'Corporal Texas' that looks like an asian cowboy) then you were in violation of the EULA - but that having one of the three differentiates the character enough that you are safe.

Am I way off base? I understand that there's virtually no way to police created characters, but is reporting them a player 'obligation' or do we just wait until a dev - playing one of their own characters - spots them to genericize them?
  4. I will give CO a trial - try to find a free 10-day trial account around somewhere. I'm happy with CoH for the most part. I get burned out a bit on the missions and wish there were a few more powersets, but what can you do. My main attraction to CO will be the graphics - I've always loved cell-shading.
  5. Given your global and other such related names (i.e. Smoking lounge, etc..) - why is "I want to get high" by Cypress Hill not on the list? I would think that's an excellent intro for you.
  6. Thanks for all the advice. I'll have to slow down a bit and pay attention to what mezzes i'm getting hit with to see if there is need to submit a report. I'm guessing from the responses so far that no one else is going through this.

I try to stay in human form as much as i can as my IO's sets are all slotted into my human powers. I shift to Dwarf when I get mezzed (held, slept, stunned, etc..) and so by then I'm not usually seeing what mezzes are going on - I'm more worried about my health bar at that point.

Then, when the form-shift doesn't take hold, I'm too busy dying to catch what mezzes caught me. I'll have to analyze my combat log further.

    Thanks all!
  7. Perhaps this has changed somewhere but I cannot find notes about it: I thought if you were mezzed, shifting into Dwarf would break the mezz although you'd have to stay in Dwarf until the mezz ran it course or you popped a BF.

Lately I've noticed that once I'm held, I can shift into Dwarf but my form will not change. My keybind does indeed change to the proper tray, but visually I'm still human and still mezzed.

Has this been changed or is there a bug or did I simply misunderstand the process of breaking mezzes by shifting to Dwarf?

    Thanks!

  9. So I'm working on a mission with a series of bosses. I don't want this arc to require a team or uber-purpled out toons - I'll leave that scaling to the player's difficulty level setting. However, I don't want the arc to get run through like cheap papertowels either.

When setting up Elite Bosses and AV's in your arc, my question is do the powers assigned scale? For example - I set up a minion with standard powers in the primary and the secondary. That makes them (we'll call it) minion strength.

However, when I set up an EB, if I leave them as standard in their primary and secondary, will their powers 'scale' to EB levels or do I need to bump their sets up to hard or extreme?

Sorry if it's a repetitive question! I searched the guides but didnt' see anything pertaining to boss difficulty scaling.

    Many thanks!
