Help Rasta make up his mind!
You were using that Eminem song, and I thought that set the mood really well.
I know I "gave you trouble" over it, but I was talking about the really, really raunchy joke that went on right before it that night.

It has a wide variety of applications, but given your rebellious nature, it seems a good enough choice. *smirking* I would choose it for very different reasons, but that's a discussion for another time and place. Hahahahahahahahahhahahahha

Oh dude, American Bad @#$ would be a great pick, heck, just having that song in the movie trailer REALLY helps increase the appeal of the GI Joe movie.
Go with that one.
Even after hearing all the choices (and liking American Ba dass more), I still think Eminem's Without Me is the best choice.

Not sure...I think I only know 2 of those...
Blazing Blue 50 fire/fire Blast, BlueStarr 50 PB, BlueSt 50 stone/ss Tank, Purple Pummaler 50 bs/regen Scrap, Green Puritan 50 emp/nrg Def, Raging Red 50 ice/cold Cor,WhiteLightning 50 ill/storm Cont, GrayMatter 44 WS,Green Marauder 24 nrg/stone Brute,Dark Blue Blaze 26 fire/fire Cor,etc
I agree with Grey and River. Without Me is a good intro song for you.
While I have no real opinion one way or another about his song choices, I have to say it's hard to go wrong with the names of two of them. How do you get much cooler than "50,000 Unstoppable Watts" or "King of the Stereo"? On name value alone, those are my picks.
(Myself? I've always wanted the first screaming chorus of Zep's "Immigrant Song" to be blasted at full volume the minute I walked into somewhere - but that's just me.)

My advice: keep the one you already used (the Eminem one, I believe); through repetition it will eventually be associated to your show.

That joke was not funny yesterday live, and it's not funnier on the forum... |
Then it would have been hysterical.
I think Eminem's "Without Me" is the most appropriate song for a number of reasons.
"Goodbye, Jean-Luc. I'm gonna miss you... you had such potential. But then again, all good things must come to an end..." -- Q
I'd like to make an addendum to my prior post.
American Ba dass would probably make a better closer for your show, Rasta, considering how opinionated you tend to get.
Or maybe you can just close a rant with it

It should be "Pass the Dutchie" but you didn't list it
"Sorry bucko, but CoH and CoV are the same game." -BackAlleyBrawler
"Silly villain, CoX is for Heroes!" -Saicho
Given your global and other such related names (i.e. Smoking lounge, etc..) - why is "I want to get high" by Cypress Hill not on the list? I would think that's an excellent intro for you.
Its either gotta be "I want to get high" by Cypress Hill, or "smoke two joints" by Sublime.
I will vote for Sublime.
Here are a couple of songs that revolve around that subject matter:
Peter Tosh - Legalize It, Bush Doctor
Method Man and Redman - How High
Eminem - Must Be The Ganja, Old Time's Sake
Bob Marley - Natural Mystic
Stephen Marley - Traffic Jam, Iron Bars, Inna Di Red
50 Cent - High All The Time
Busta Rhymes - Get High Tonight
Dr Dre, Hittman, Kurupt, Ms Roq - Let's Get High
Kanye West, Talib Kweli, Common - Get 'Em High
Keith Murray - High As Hell, Bam Bam Zee, Get Lifted, Herb Is Pumpin'
Lloyd Banks - I Get High
Lenny Kravitz - Let's Get High
Tony Yayo - I'm So High
Snoop Dogg - Too High
Rick James - Mary Jane
Bounty Killer - Smoke De Herb
Ice Cube - Smoke Some Weed
Mobb Deep - Smoke It
Redman - How To Roll A Blunt
"Goodbye, Jean-Luc. I'm gonna miss you... you had such potential. But then again, all good things must come to an end..." -- Q
Hmm, I think I may have underestimated how many songs I had on that subject.

While I certainly understand the notion of songs like Hits from the Bong, or Two Joints, or I love you Mary Jane, and indeed all those songs are great songs, I tried to keep my focus around the fact, that I am a hard rock/metal music fan. That's not to say I don't enjoy a variety of genres of music, I mean how can one not enjoy Snoop Dogg, I tried to keep my choices of songs in line with my own music of choice.
On a semi-related note, a friend of mine who has a band might even pony up a personalized number for me. Should he produce said song, you can bet whatever wins this "contest" is gettting replaced.

Ok so here's the deal kids.
Those of you who listen regularly to my show on kjsr.net know that I've been "mulling" over what should be my intro song. I have a sign-off song, but dangit I want a sign-on song too! And for a while I was going with one until some folks started to gripe about it. Maybe they weren't griping, THAT ISN'T THE POINT NOW!
The Point is, I want to know what YOU, the people who actually put UP with my show each week want to hear. What you think best sets the "tone" or "mood" or "vibe" or "something else in quotes" for my show.
So tonight I'm going to be playing 6 songs I've decided I think would be appropriate. but now I want YOUR opinions. SO tonight I'll play all 6. In a row. Then I want you to tell me, which one you think I should make the permanent sign-on song for me. There will also be a poll on the kjsr website, (hopefully) and I'll be appealing to those of you who share a facebook connection with me.
Make your voice heard! We live in a Democracy! USE THE POWER!
And yes, after the show, or during, I'll come post the song options, for those of you who don't listen, or missed the show, or have no idea who I am or what I'm talking about but you have an opinion anyway. Feel free to write in your vote for some other song if you want, but rest assured, like voting for Mickey Mouse, your just wasting time with that.
