Cool. So they're pretty much worth slotting then.

Quick question. Finally IO'ing my Ice/Cold corruptor up, and I'm picking what sets I want to put in places. How do the +Damage Procs from sets like Positron's Blast work in the rain powers like Ice Storm, Blizzard, and Sleet? Is the "Minor DMG" scaled to be that of a fraction of the damage each tick of the storm does, or is it full power? Also, does it proc for every tick of damage, or just in the initial casting?
Thanks. -
I just respec'd from Power to Ghost Widow on my Cold Corruptor, though I haven't played them enough with the new set to generate an opinion yet.
However, the big thing that GW has over Power is that extra ranged Hold in the form of Soul Storm. Being that his primary is ice, I've got several holds at my disposal at any given time, and that suits my play style. Being that Power Boost lasts longer, I can get more attacks in that will utilize its effects than otherwise.
And this is a personal preference, but I love my Warshade. So having Soul Drain on my Corruptor is just plain fun, regardless of how useful it is in a min/maxing/practicality sense. -
Well, I very recently got my Warshade to 50, and I gotta say he has developed into my favorite character to play. I try to follow the MF'in spirit as outlined in Dechs' guide, and so far it's working pretty good for me.
Many of my later levels were gained by running Imperious TF's with teams of 50's primarily doing them for shard drops and merits. As you probably know, the last two missions on that TF have large hordes of enemies that a ripe for Double-Mire'ing off of and then popping a Quasar.
My best one I've had so far was on the "lag hill" before the 5th Column section of the 3rd mission. I dove head first into quite a large group of enemies our tank had rounded up (I'm guessing close to 50 of 'em), fired off Dwarf Mire, dropped out to Sunless Mire, and then squeezed of a Quasar. At the precise moment where the waves of negative energy reach their peak, the game lag-froze for a second in a glorious moment I wish I could have gotten a screenshot of. The damage numbers were also prominently displayed here, showing somewhere in the neighborhood of 950 damage. The game unfroze and bodies littered the ground. Epic. (side note: is 950 good? I was SK'd to 49 at the time...curious how much damage you all do on average)
Another Epic Quasar happened during another ITF last night. Last mission, our team was crossing one of the bridges on the way to Romulus. I ran ahead, hoping to pop Quasar before the Mire from the last group wore off. Jumped in and hit it just in time, and every single enemy went flying off the sides of the bridge in all directions. Didn't even have a single body to recover endurance off of with Stygian Circle. The rest of the team laughed because the enemies literally disappeared as if they disintegrated by the time they caught up with me.
So....any Epic Quasar stories out there? -
System message just popped up saying they're bringing down the server for maintenance in 30 minutes. Hopefully it won't be down for too long. I'll switch over to Blizzard anyway to see if I can catch any of the team in-game...

Blizzard Shade - 50 Ice/Cold Corruptor

Yep, so as not to confuse the uniformed like me since the CoHTitan wiki still hasn't updated their Apex page yet. I joined one last night but the team couldn't start it with me present since I don't have Going Rogue (and thus, no Alpha).

For one of the ignorant newcomers such as myself, what exactly is a "Brutal Monday"?

While this personally is more of an issue with my Corruptors, I figure the Defender forums get more viewers (and since both ATs have powersets with similar buff shields, it still applies here)
I remember way back when CoV came out, a lot of people had issues with the shield animations, either due to the lag they caused, or that people didn't like how the shields messed up the look of their costumes. I've taken a break for a few years, and just got back in-game last week experienced the new powerset customization options. Now that we have the ability to make the shields look even more garrish than before, while also having the ability to make them less noticeable through muted colors, what do people like to see?
Case in point, I made all my Thermal Corruptor's powers a bright green, as a visual cue for the healing attributes of the flames. However, it means that I cover people in bright green flame shields when I buff the team.
I haven't been able to team enough to get a good idea of how people feel about it, so I've come on here about it. Just curious, I suppose. -
Appreciate it. I'm probably not going to be purchasing Going Rogue though...do a lot of people still play the older zones?

Howdy all,
So with the current holiday games list looking rather bleak (just happens to be one of those years with not much I'm interested in), I decided to give my favorite MMO another shot for another month or so.
I doubt anyone around here remembers me...been over three years since I last played. I think I9 was out at the time. I played on and off for about a year around the time CoV came out, and then ran with the Void-Walkers / Corruption, and was in one of the first groups on Justice to beat the Recluse strike force. I left them after a break and everyone went inactive, and then joined Steel Justice where I played until a little bit after villain Hamidon was first taken down on Justice (was in that large group too, though ironically enough I got disconnected just as everyone received their awards/loot).
So...what seems to be the popular beats nowadays? I noticed that Atlas Park was nearly deserted when I logged in earlier, though I suppose it is a Monday night. Also, with all of the changes made to the game since I last played, how drastic do you think I'd need to change my character builds (are SO's still viable with IO's out now, major nerfs, need-to-knows, etc..). I guess I19 is coming out tomorrow, where they are integrating the Fitness pool into all archetypes, so I'll have to respec anyway, haha.
Anyway, looking forward to teaming with some people again. Joined the Justice United channel, so I'll be listening in.
