Many truly great ideas are an act of simple clarity! Professor that is a wonderful idea I hope the Dev's act on this.

What with making heroes acting like the people they are fighting. I want them to be heroic and have some ideals. Having Blue Steel beat someone to near death and then shrug it off is not the kind of example that should be set.
We are the City of Heroes... please understand the word. -

Sorry this power does nothing to keep me from dying. Rethink it or just get rid of the thing. Plenty of other people can give you details. He is my gut feeling
Having an ability that you can only use when your near death ( when you should be popping a green) or has the side effect of people NOT healing you is worthless. -
Well I will have to make an alt on that server to see the action.

Lady Liberty has a new SG that is VERY RP focused. Post in guardian her thread should still be around.

I am sad it's over for now but it was a great story.

We should do more damage then scrappers. We have low hit points and if anyone get close to us we have no defense to protect us. Scrappers have plenty of powers that keep them alive, so the idea that they should get more cause they are close to the action is false. If a blaster is close to the action he is dead.
We need to be able to deal the damage at range to live. -
Thanks for all the Fun. I have met lots of nice people and it's been a great time. Hope to have many more.

Hey that's good comics, when they were fun, you know when heroes were heroes.

There are various examples in the comics of substances (gold kryptonite) or artifacts (ROM's Neutralizer and the weapon that Forge reverse-engineered from it) that can somehow alter an innately-powered hero to temporarily or permanently remove their "super" abilities while leaving them otherwise unharmed. Such items are obviously beyond the purview of the regular game (imagine making it to level 46, being hit by a Sapper, and told "you have lost your powers - game over.")

Cripes you're old school.
Welcome to the post-Crisis universe. It's strictly red kryptonite that takes away your powers, and that's not around anymore.

I like debt it helps people to team up to get rid of it. Anything that does that is good for the game. The debt at the low levels is so small, it's cheaper to make the mistakes at the low level than to do it later on when it costs you.
[ QUOTE ]
Not that I'm complaining really, but why?
Debt is hardly even a penalty, and now it's being mitigated further? Perhaps I'm alone here, but I don't get it.

Seasonal gear would be great. At X-mas lots of people were hoping to have a santa hat.

Now there is an idea. Seasonal gear!

I agree, i'm a bit tired of the flat front look, very unrealistic with my alt in tights and all the catgirls running around
p.s. how about some skinny robot legs. Cog boy needs some..

Am I the only one who's offended here? After looking through all those screenshots, and seeing that women can adjust the size of their McGuffins, and yet we men don't get a slider to adjust our Package?
It's Sexism, I tell you!

Im fine with not linking it to the game. Anything that could impact the servers does worry me. Maybe having an IM client that was customized to have a more COH bent would be a nice thing.
I just want a nice and easy way to contact users outside the game. This can be done with existing software on the user end and it's nothing that needs to involve the game.
I understand about security and things have to be done the right way. At the same time I don't stop using my computer because of the various things that can happen too it.
I am involved in security myself and I agree with you on the dangers that a bad im client can do. We would never allow an IM client in the workplace and monitor workstations and block at the firewall to prevent such problems.
Of course the poor judgement of users will kill any plan

No.
No.
NO.
You do NOT realize the amount of security holes that are opened up with instant messenger programs. I know quite a few people IRL who've had their entire networks shut down by virus/Trojan horses/worms/etc brought in through IM.
No. Keep IM type applications AWAY from Global Chat.

If it did talk outside the game I could chat with the many friends I have made in COH. It would be great bacause we could get people together for game and arrange times. I think a COH IM would be a great think for outside game. Even better for cryptic if you could send COH trial invites to people not part of the game from the IM client. Think of the people you might get to sign on.
[ QUOTE ]
Honestly I thought that's what Global Chat was <blush>. I wrote a stupid note to my SG asking how to configure Trillian (my fave IRC and IM interface). Duh to me. Now that I know it's in game only, I am less motivated to use it. Don't get me wrong, I think it is still useful, but it would be full dimensional with this feature.
My 2 cents
