It was the spring of 2004, I was at Target to pick up a movie. As I walked by the PC game isle, I noticed this game's box art that looked so much like a comic book that I had to stop and take a look. I was a huge Marvel fan then (not so much now) so it was sort of a knee-jerk reaction for me.
Since I was in a hurry, I didn't have enough time to take a closer look and mull over my purchase decision, so I didn't buy the game at then.
A few months later, now in the middle of the summer, I was at Target to get some back-to-school stuff. In walking past that same isle, I saw COH's bright blue box again and stopped to take another look. Since I wasn't being hurried by family members, I was able to take my time and drool over the screenshots and descriptions on the back. As a result, I ended up buying the game.
Since COH was my very first MMO, my first time creating a character and playing the game was so exciting. My first character was an Elec/Elec Blaster on Pinnacle named Tangerine Shock. I spent her first few levels just exploring and being in awe of the whole MMO-ness of everything. I couldn't wrap my head around the fact that those brightly colored heroes jumping and flying around me were people too.
For my first gaming experience, I set out exploring Atlas Park with my little brother as a backseat gamer (it was his first MMO too). I zapped a few Hellions and some clockwork. I got my first door mission and was en route to it, taking my time with the scenic route. I hopped over a fence and encountered for the very first time, the Vahzilok! My reaction (and my brother's reaction) was an utter freak out (ZOMG ZOMBIES!) as the zombies were puking on me and the Morticians were pew pewing at me with their darts. We were screaming out loud as I was running away from the zombies and their homing-puke-missles. We were screaming so loudly that my older brother came in to check on us. LOL
It was some adrenaline-pumping excitement in my very first MMO and I wanted more! Too bad the DoTs from the zombie puke landed me my first trip to the hospital.
Nowadays, when I fight the Vahz, sometimes I think back to that very moment and have myself a chuckle.
Good times. -
I agree with the OP. I would gladly pay money for this option. I know a few people that would be happy with this as well.
On a side note, I've sent an email to support for this, of which they replied that they can't do this and just suggested me to post a thread here. -

If your a fellow artist i'll glady read it , look it over and see if its something I can fix .
If your not a fellow artist (and by artist I mean anyone brave enough to post art they have done on a public forum ) then I honestly likely glaze over it don't bother to read it .
you might have the greatest artistic eye in the world but if you aren't intrested in sharing your work im likely not intrested in hearing your oponions

I agree with all of what scarf girl said in regards to reading only other artists' critiques. Usually the better the artist, the more serious I take that critique. Nothing personal you know, but I just believe that if someone is really good at what they do, they must have over come some hurdles and I want to learn from them.
Also usually I point out what I think is wrong with my image and what I need to improve on first (hey, I know my flaws) so its extremely ANNOYING when people just dont bother to read what I wrote and just repeat something I already know. This is akin to explaining say, creating a character/piece a certain way because it was intended and then telling people about your intention to have them not bother with your explanation and giving you suggestions on how to "fix" said piece. I think that if you're planning on taking the time to critique an image, take the time to read the description.
As for critiquing other's work? I really don't do so unless they ask for it. I get annoyed sometimes for unsolicited critiques so I wouldn't want to do the same to others. -
um...
WOWWWWWW!
just a question... what medium did he use? clay polymer?

cheers! -
Soul Train: http://anwynart.deviantart.com/art/C...Train-63709485
Commissioned by who else?
So yeah, this is like the first piece where I am 100% happy with the post work.. for now at least. I really hope ST likes it!
if you want to see the render before I edited it in photoshop: http://anwynart.deviantart.com/art/S...twork-63696384
I think the reason why I'm so happy with this piece is because I actually like the expression! Oh and if any of you poser users out there want to know a lil secret.. sometimes using the smudge tool to emphasis the expressions really makes a difference!
Cheers! -

Very cool stuff! I agree with you that you need work on poses. That stuff can be easy to find though. Everybody mentions Sports Illustrated or fitness magazines. I would add comics as well. Just remember, use them as an inspiration. Don't copy the poses or you won't get better at doing it. What helps me is I imagine what the character is doing at the moment. That helps me come up with the pose.

I've actually gotten into the habit of having my sister take pictures of me in various poses. I like creating my own references despite feeling like an as5 jumping around the living room in stupid poses.
To be fair though, I didn't care too much for the "version 2" poses as long as it fit the standard of having the character face forward. The reasoning is because I'll only be using the chest up image of the character that will go into this large final group image. If anything, its more of a camera angle issue as opposed to posing really. Or even a combination of both.
The version 2 stuff is more of an exercise in post working in photoshop CS3 with a consistent theme in mind more than anything else.
The critique is much appreciated though!
PS to those asking, no I don't do free art for people I don't know, k thnx bye -
Sorry to hear about your employment problems. I know how much it is teh sux0rz during the job hunting process and I sincerely hope you find a satisfactory job offer asap!

Version 2 of Draven Dresden:

I had the crappy un postworked version sitting in my mailbox and finally got around to postworking it today while showing a coworker how to use photoshop cs3 with a live demonstration. Even my boss thought it was cool =D
cheers! -
Version 2 of Sixty:

yes and another thing about the poser expressions is that they look sooo BAD and unrealistic. Thats why I often go for a profile of the face or if i have to do a frontal view I try to make them look "serene" or "aloof"
I can technically do the expression tweaks in Zbrush, but again, I just really need to study facial muscles because tweaking 3d faces to a believable expression is tough. The smudge/dodge/burn tools in Photoshop helps in creating the simple stuff. I do, however, focus alot of postwork attention on the eyes and it does make a difference, imo.
Anyways, its been a while. I've been busy and all that with a new job and all. but I finally have a some "new" pieces.
Version 2 of Jane Flame:

Version 2 of Gwen Snow:

She's part of a series of characters that I'm creating with a style/lighting consistency in mind.
comments/critiques welcomed!

ok so first I love your stuff. its all very pretty and with most of them I feel I can reach out and touch them, that brings me to the last piece. dresden ... seems a little small in the picture and I spent more time looking at your wonderfull background than at the man in spandex
[/ QUOTE ]
I'll be honest with you... I kinda focused more on the background than the actual character.. just dont tell him that! lol.
The reson being is that I am really bad with backgrounds and I used this opportunity to learn a few things about backgrounds and perspectives and such. What you said is a huge confidence booster! thank you!
