  1. I don't get it. A first and last name isn't really all that identifying. Heck, I google my name and I get a dozen different people, none of which are me. Names aren't all that unique.

Now, if you get a hold of name + city, that narrows it down a lot. Of course, you can always lie about your city.

Edit: Okay, the fact that you are connected to the real names of all your friends is all kinds of wrong. Blizzard is turning into Facebook. There is a reason I'm not on Facebook.

And the Assault Bot has -Regen which is pretty useful if not overpowered in tough boss/AV/hero fights.

[/ QUOTE ]Actually, the -regen from Assbot doesn't do much. He's got two attacks which each have a chance to apply -50% regen. Twilight Grasp is a guaranteed -50%, and it can self-stack... and it's in the same set as Howling Twilight, which is -500% regen. Envenom is also a stackable guaranteed -50%. Traps.Poison Trap is -1000% and can be made permanent.

And all of those regen debuffs pale in comparison to nearly any amount of -resistance.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just a little nitpick, but Assault Bot only has 1 attack that has a 30% chance for -500% regen for 30s. The Plasma Blast he starts with. Not that I disagree with you mind. -res is awesome.

If you click on the error pop-up it'll take you to the word. It did that for me when I used "screw."

....ugh I hate the profanity filter....

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh! Thats good to know! And yeah, the profane filter sucks. Up until this point I've had it turned off so never had to deal with it.
  5. Admittedly, my search fu is incredibly weak, so if this has come up before forgive me.

I was writing a description for a character and came across the error "Profanity detected in character description". Now, this confused the heck out of me, because nothing I wrote seemed at all offensive. Well, except maybe the use of booze. So I deleted that. Nope. Hmm. So, I went through each non obviously safe word (like it, and the) and eventually found the culprit.

    Snatch

Yes. To grab something is offensive to people?? I'm wondering if this is an error, or is there some kind of obscure religious or ethnic slang that I have never heard of? Is there a list some where of banned CoH words?

And, to make this post semi constructive, it be nice if when an offensive word does pop up, instead of creating a generic error, the system told you what word was unnacceptable. At least that would solve the "what", if not the "why???" of my problem.

You know, I haven't seen anyone make it a *moral* argument.

Mind you, the fact that knowing people find it annoying makes you want to do it more makes doing it, in your case, at the very least a selfish, disruptive act, and at most a moral one (if you believe being maliciously selfish to be immoral).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ya, kinda dug myself a hole there.

After re reading it, I'm not sure what I was saying either. Reading about how people get so annoyed with other people's attitudes annoyes me.

Which makes a me a hypothetical son of a woman who was not married to the man which is the biological father (why is that ok and not the B word?).

But at least im honest about my hypocrisy.
  9. *not directed at anyone in paticular*

I use the word toon. I like the word toon. Why? Cause I feel it fits with CoH. I use it to differentiate between CoH characters and PnP characters and other MMO characters. It has nothing to do with beig lazy. I just like it. I could not care less what other people use to describe their creations. I like my creations and am proud of them. Even if they are deli products, it leads to some very entertaining RP moments. (Important Rule: No devouring of team members, regardless of how hungry the battle made you)

Ironicly, much of the argument AGAINST useing the word toon just makes me want to use it more. People getting offended at inconsiquential habbits of another is rather funny. Much like the steriotypical old lady getting offended about someone shaveing their head (or doing anything else "not proper").

You can't have moral justification for an amoral act. Attempting to do so is moot. And makes me laugh
