Hi Guys,
I haven't played CoH in almost a year.. and got an email with a 15 day trial code inviting me back, so I thought, why not?
Anyway, I get about 30-45 minutes into the game, and it crashes right to the desktop. Any idea's on what's going wrong here?
My computer is:
CPU: AMD Athlon X2 @ 2.7ghz on an AMD 770 nb motherboard
Memory: 4gb DDR2 1066 interleaved
Video: ATi/AMD Radeon 4830 HD / catalyst drivers 11.6
And i'm running Windows 7 64 bit for my OS. -
w00t for the NY Comic Con.. I had trouble the last two years trying to get my vacation time, plane tickets and spending money in order for HeroCon.. NYC is just a few hours down the road
So a HUGE thanks from me! -
Yeah I deleted the /piggs folder then ran the launcher, everything's back to where it should be

Just logged in with a different toon, same zone and server... this is actually kinda fun in a Twilight Zone kind of way.

Just as the title says, I have no idea what this is.. nor have I ever seen this before. Almost 6 years of playing this game and I've seen bugs, but OMG. In this screenie, I have a force field around my toon, but that toon is an empathy/energy manipulation defender.
That big ring of energy appeared after I attempted to heal someone in Atlas Park.
And this one suprised me, seeing 2 infected and an outcast in place of Hellions, with a motorcycle!!
As for my computer's specs, cause I know some of you will ask..
Windows XP SP3
AMD Athlon Dual Core 7750 (2.7ghz)
3.25GB DDR3 memory, 1066mhz (actually 4gb but that's all my 32 bit version of windows will report)
ATi Radeon 4870 (Catalyst 10.5 Drivers)
So.. any thoughts?? -
Considering what AOL's client does to your registry and TCP stack, it SHOULD be considered a virus :\

I'd love to go, just not possible for me this year though

Sounds very cool, I will definitely try to be there

Ahh I hear that... what you may want to look into for ripping dvd's though is DVDShrink and DivX.
Divx is pretty widely available and tutorials are a google search away, and you can get DVD Shrink from MajorGeeks.com.
This would also give a pretty good benchmark on how your new system is running as the video conversion process can be pretty CPU intense. Multitasking while it's converting video is usually painfully slow on a single proc, best left to be done overnight while sleeping. -
Just checking in to see where you're at... believe me I know how psyched up you can be to get new hardware and want to see it run your games better than the last one did

Personally I'd check your memory manufacturer's website for default timing and voltage settings. I was having similar issues and came to find out that my memory was getting 0.2 volts than it was rated for. As a result, my BIOS was reading my DDR2 1066 as DDR2 667.
The other problem with AMD dual core proc's is that with the Cool and Quiet settings enabled, they typically slow down when they decide their full processing power isn't needed. Disabling this will make your CPU fan run full blast, but 3,000 rpms shouldn't be too loud. I'd also check out their Dual Core Optimizer download. -
Actually I think I worked it out... I reset my cable modem and forced it to get a new IP, then cleared my DNS. All's well besides the limitations of using AA and some other bells and whisltes.
My other problem was due to the fact that my power supply was inadequate, I replaced a 380 watt PSU with a 500 watt from NewEgg and this thing is screaming now -
Having the same problem here as well, as I use the semicolon for command line emotes. Thanks for the bind fix

Hi everyone, I just got some new hardware and got it all installed... and everything in the game looks amazing. I'm lagging really badly, rubberbanding like crazy and /sync command isn't doing anything for me.
I went from using a single core cpu to a dual core AMD, and an nVidia GeForce 8500GT to an ATi Radeon 4830. I just reinstalled Windows XP with latest drivers from the manufacturer's websites... and I'm stumped.
I guess my question here is, are there any known issues with CoX and the hardware I mentioned?
This is the first computer I've put together in a few years.. the last time I did so P3's were brand new. I'm well aware of the debate between AMD and Intel, ATi and nVidia... and I chose the parts that I did due to concern for cost and performance. BTW, this rig plays Left 4 Dead and Unreal Tournament 3 both at 1680x1050 4xAA and 8xAnisotropy at 70fps plus. But I spend a lot more time on CoH... this is making me nuts. -
IMO, the only good thing about having Steam and CoH running at the same time is so that you can use the voice chat interface with your friends who are also on Steam... now if we could use Steam's content delivery for updates that'd be great

I wanna run it from my iPod Touch... just need a dev to program it for finger gestures and the accelerometer

I've been plotting out a Praetorian version of my character ever since I read about MA, back last year. Is there a way to make the main villain of my mission arc an exact copy (costume/archetype/powerset) of anyone else's toon that decides to do my arc?

Will the "show all" or "all" feature still be available for threads in vBulletin? I really prefer it on long threads so I can just scroll down versus going through each page separately.

There are several options for that in the UserCP section for vBulletin. I've been using vB for several years now on my site, and there's a lot less that you can't do with it than what you CAN do This is a good move -
Any chance those tokens will be awarded retroactively? And do they apply towards Ouroboros missions?
