And I looked on the listing but they are a forum thread, which means you have to scroll through pages and pages and pages of them because the forums have one of the worst searches I've seen. I put in the word "cat" to search and it said it found NOTHING. I find that unbelievable. Also not even sure how active any of those posts are.
You probably got that result because your keyword was too short. That tends to happen on a lot of forums.

Also, both the current SG and VG directories on this board are very recent, having been put up in May of this year. Surely at least one of those is active. Especially Entropy Legion on redside. *totally did not just shamelessly advertise one of her favorite VG's of all time*
  2. Are you a roleplayer? If you are, I've got a couple of groups you might be interested in checking out. If not... sorry. If all else fails, you can check out the SG and VG listings stickied on this board.

    Also, catgirls ftw. :3

    Pet Peeves 2.0!

I've also considered myself to be pretty easygoing as far as roleplaying goes, but there's one thing that bothers me to no end:

People who use canon characters as a huge part of their background. You are not Lord Recluse's secret lover. You're not Statesman's long-lost daughter. I could honestly go on and on with this. If every Sue and Mary that claimed to be one of these guys was true, there'd be a lot of tabloid scandals and giant family trees that nobody wants to catalog.

Aside from that, there's also the usual godmodding and powerplaying, but I think most of us have those on our lists.

And going slightly off-topic, I admit that I'm one of those obsessive people who corrects their own typos... often a bit too much. T///T I'll try to tone that down unless somehow I manage to type a word that totally changes the meaning of the sentence or something. (For instance, I was RPing with one of my friends last night, and he accidentally typed "water" instead of "waiter." It was quite funny. xD)
  4. Just wanna pop in and say how wonderful this group is. Fool is great at really making a story have impact. I mean, who else would be willing to sacrifice one of their own characters for the sake of good storytelling? And not just some throw-away NPC, either--we're talking a level 50 character that he's been playing for quite some time now and hadn't intended to stop playing! I wouldn't even be willing to sacrifice my level 20 character for that!

In addition, this group does what a lot of others fail to do: it tries to include all of its members in one way or another. Even the quiet ones that stay in the background (like me) have several bones thrown to them to make sure they're included. And I love that.

Really, this group is just great. Great leaders, great roleplayers, great stories... If you're willing to try something different and play a character that's not an immortal half-angel with untold power, you should really join this group. You won't regret it.

    Extra Power Tray

As someone who just began playing a Kheldian yesterday, I actually kind of like this tray. I can see how it could get in the way for more experienced players (and as a person who does use numbers to activate her powers, it is a bit unorthodox), but for me it's a good way to kind of get adjusted to the new powers I have in my other forms. I do plan to figure out a good keybind configuration one of these days, but for now it's a "newbie tool."

I am, however, in favor of an option to turn this tray off. No need for cannons or anything, though. Violence is never the answer unless you're blasting enemies in the face with eyeball beams.

My not-so-inner nerd is sobbing right now. T_T

I do have a couple of questions: do you have specified event days, or do you guys just pop online and RP whenever? Also, what's your policy on non-human residents?
  7. I'm definitely interesting in this group, but I do have one question: when are your usual RP days? I've had to reject a lot of great groups because of conflicting RP days with my main's VG, and I'm really hoping that that doesn't happen with this one, too.
  8. This... is glorious. I'm definitely going to dig through my list of toons and see who might fit in. It seems like a great place for some nice, relaxed RP. ^_^

EDIT: Though, now that I think about it, I'm worried I'm going to be slapped in the face with lag the moment I walk in. @_@
  9. @Draeth Darkstar: I'll be sure to keep this all in mind when I want to try my hand at building a decent set. Thank you so much yet again for all of this! If I can just ask one more question: If an enhancement set has two of the same bonus, do they both count toward the aforementioned "stack?"

(As a side note, I'm curious to see how playing with none of my whip powers will work out. I had all of them when I first made Iyze--rookie mistake, I know. >.<)

@Crysys: I seem to have a bad (or maybe good?) habit of accidentally picking FotM powers/classes/whatever in games. Maybe it's a sixth sense. xD

That's mostly because I don't really have a price range or an idea of what I want to do for APP/PPP at this point... (And because the last time I asked for help with a build, my super-awesome VG leader magically put an awesome one together with little input.)

Overall, the main reason I wasn't more specific with my request is because I have NO blooming idea of what to do. I'm not new--I've been playing this game for over a year now (and have a character in her high 40's)--but I've never been much into the power-building side of things. I usually just pick what made sense for my character, and the rest of my character development is just that--character development. I'm basically throwing myself into the dark with no flashlight.

Thank you for the build, though. I really appreciate your help, and if I don't use this build exactly, I will definitely use it as a basis for building my character.
  11. "lol I'm a n00b help me" (because that's what I told my VG leader I was gonna post xD)

So, uh, yeah. I'm terrible with builds. I mostly play CoX for the roleplay, but it's also nice to have a character that doesn't die because of your stupid decisions. Any suggestions for a Demon Summoning/Dark Miasma Mastermind build? I'm only level 27 right now, and my only requirements are Fly and as much of the Leadership pool as possible.
  12. All right... my post earlier was a tad heated. But that's what happened when you're frustrated as all hell. Like I said, I'm not a tech person, so I wouldn't really know how difficult things are. Still, something must have gone really fracking wrong for things to be screwed up this bad...

I am glad that they're working on the problem (or so they claim, *cough*), and I hope it's fixed soon.
  13. I have one question:

How freaking difficult is it to roll back to the MA that was actually functional? Clearly, the fixes they're trying to implement aren't working, so why don't they just go back to the version that was working? Now, I'm not much of a tech person, so I don't know how difficult it actually is to do a roll-back, but surely it would be more effective and less complicated than what they're doing now.

All I wanna do is make an arc without trying to "fix" Longbow and Arachnos (which, among several other things, are freaking ridiculous things to put in the filter)!

*inhale... exhale...* All right, I need a Xanax.

  16. Recently, I've noticed that in some missions involving the Legacy Chain, they're attacking and even killing each other. I'm currently playing "Interrogate Legacy Chain leader" for Lorenz Ansaldo, and it's happening here. Is this supposed to be happening, or is this some funky glitch that's making my job easier? xD
  17. So... long story short... I either get a new laptop or deal with Intel being stupid.

I appreciate the help, I really do. I just hate my life right about now. *facedesk x1000*
  18. Well, I managed to fix this issue, but now we're back to the issue of my game randomly freezing up. *facedesk*

EDIT: I figured out what S.O.L. means. T_T Is there anything I can do?! /panic
  19. I recently reinstalled CoH due to several issues I've been having. But now I have a new issue:

My character is basically a ghost. Whenever I log in the game, the graphics are all... wonky, for lack of a better word. I can put the game in safe mode and run it from there, but is there any known fix for this?

  21. EDIT: Thanks to whoever moved this topic to the correct forum. *hugs*

First of all, I love this game. I ended up buying it on a whim and giving it a whirl, and I'm already addicted. However, I've been having a few problems. First of all, there are a few instances (namely right after creating a new character) where the game will randomly give me this message:

Sometimes, the "ig4icd32.dll" part will be totally blank, and I still need to test and see if the file changes. But I digress.

On rare occasions, I also get a window that pops up and says this:

    Quote:
    ./piggs/mapsCities1.pigg: Corrupt pig file detected
    Read failed for file: geobin/maps/City_Zones/City_01_02/City_01_02.bin
    -1

Your data might be corrupt, please run the patcher and try again
And then OTHER times, the game just randomly crashes and gives me a "City of Heroes has stopped responding" pop-up with no indication as to what happened.

Does anybody know how I can fix these errors? I'm running on a Toshiba Satellite A305 laptop with Windows Vista 32-bit and an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. As for my graphics card, I think it's a Mobile Intel 4 Series Express unless I'm looking in the wrong place. xD

(Hau... This post ended up longer than I wanted it to be.)
